So if the stats don't mean anything right now then doesn't that mean the Reds record doesn't mean anything right now? 1999 OPS: .939 2004 OPS: 1.028 He's playing over his head.

I think we'll need a thread for the season for all the the stupid comments he makes on Baseball Tonight. He really is clueless. First one I pick out tonight: "Darin Erstad is better offensively than Doug Mienkiewicz." Wow. Edit: And I'm an idiot...two topic typos in one day. Edit 2: Kruk picks Angels to win World Series. Awesome.

Tim Hudson vs. Curt Schilling on Tuesday. MVPs to this point A.L.: Melvin Mora N.L.: Lance Berkman My predictions for who will win the MVP awards at the end of the season are Vladimir Guerrero and Jim Thome.

Wow...something sure did happen tonight. Biggest plot development in a long time. The lesson: being in the mafia is a lot more fun than being on cross country trips with snot nosed kids. Damn gonna wait two weeks for the finale.

If you could put 12 single games on one DVD

It was 1958 and actually the consesus now is that it was probably the most overrated game ever. It got the label as "The Greatest Game Ever" because it was the first nationally televised game, the first overtime game, and it was played in New York and anything in New York gets over hyped. The game itself though was very sloppy and even the players from the game have said it wasn't played very well. It was certainly historic, on the level of Super Bowl III, but not the best game ever. The greatest game ever in most circles would be the 1982 AFC Divisional Playoff between the Chargers and Dolphins with Kellen Winslow's incredible performance. -
My team continues to suck in the head-to-head league but have to point out Bobby Abreu's rankings at the moment. Season: 1 Last Month: 1 Last Week: 1

Eric Chavez homers with two out in the 9th off of new (maybe ex) Royals closer Jeremy Affedlt to send the game to extra innings and the A's win it in the 11th on a Bobby Crosby RBI single, 5-4.

I just loved this comment. Yes I know I'll never forget where I was when Stanton pitched in magical game #900. I'm wearing my commerative Mike Stanton 900th game t-shirt right now. Oh and had to add this one: Ya you tell them John! We know Dusty Baker don't pay attention to know stinkin' computers and it's worked so well for Prior and Wood. Oh wait. Seriously I want an ESPN debate show featuring Kruk and Rob Neyer.

A's win 7-0, Mulder gets the shutout and his 3rd straight complete game.
-
Might not truly qualify for this since he did have a very good season last year before getting hurt and that's Melvin Mora. Many thought last year was probably a fluke but came into tonight leading the A.L. in OBP and OPS. Oh and thought of someone...Jack Wilson. Okay probably not going to slug .548 all year but hey best shortstop in the N.L. to this point this season.

Mike Sweeney singles to lead off the 7th, no-hitter gone.

Through six innings against the Royals, Mark Mulder has not allowed a hit or walked a batter...but it's not a perfect game. He's hit three batters. Man sucks to be the Royals can't get a hit and you have to be in pain to get on base tonight. Bobby Crosby also tonight has his first multi-homerun game of his career.

Being a Warrior and Stanford fan I don't like this move for either team. Musselman did the best he could with what he had. The Warriors are just flat out a bad team and have been terribly run for years. Did they really think they were going to make the playoffs this year? Any team with a coaching vacancy should immediately be contacting him. As for Montgomery it's sad to see him leave Stanford and it's tough imagine him not coaching at that school. Second round choking aside, he has done an incredible job. That program was going no where before he took it over and hadn't made the tournament in over 40 years. Now it is expected that they make the tournament every year and contend for the Pac-10 title. Good for him getting this opportunity but how often does hiring a college coach for an NBA team work?

Six? That's nothing! Golden State Warriors: Ten Straight Years of Crap.

Now it's Good (Kevin Garnett) vs. Evil (Kobe Bryant). At least in my view.

I know just making a point with the way things work he'll probably make the team.

I'd have to look it up but I think with the player voting now they require a certain number of relievers to make the team. Probalby why you got Mike Williams and Lance Carter being chosen as their team's reps last year over Brian Giles and Aubrey Huff respectively. I pick three because you have two to pitch the 8th and 9th and then one left over to pitch in extra innings if necessary. Honestly hadn't even noticed Looper until you mentioned him because he wasn't even in the Top 10 in the N.L. in saves, not that it's his fault. The N.L. is loaded at closer right now, in fact the N.L. is loaded at a lot of positions. Let's face it save totals get a lot of consideration so Danny Graves will probably end up making the team if he continues to the lead the Majors in that category.
-
Again not taking park factors into account because I don't expect the players will. The backwards thinking of former players like Joe Morgan, Harold Reynolds, and John Kruk makes me think there are probably plenty of active players who think the same way. Because of that I give batting average and rbi a lot more consideration than they deserve. A-Rod will be on there eventually once the first voting results are out and at that point I'll just be picking reserves and pitchers.
-
Hey pretty good for the #1 pick, huh? I'll chalk it up to bad luck since I'm 3-3 in the actual match-ups. Losing Troy Glaus and Marcus Giles this week isn't helping things. Oh well guess I'll push for the title in Dr. Tom's league and have Randy Johnson there.

Jason Schmidt tosses a one-hitter tonight with 13 strikeouts against the Cubs. Didn't see the game but apparantly the one hit was an infield hit. And that goes as the SECOND best performance of the night.
