Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 7

This is a pretty bland Top 10 as there isn't much to discuss as we hit the halfway point of the season. We of course have a new #1 and really there's nothing too surprising about the top seven. AboveAverage484 rebounded nicely this week to end a losing skid and jump back into the rankings after falling off the radar. Also, Agent Bond34 is finally back in the Top 10 as well. Annnnnnnd still fly is still undefeated and still is getting no respect as he hangs on a Top 10 ranking by a thread. Bored Championship Series Rankings thru Week 7 1. Nebraska - Mecca 3.4 2. Auburn loses at home to what has been by far the worst team in the ESS EEE SEE, Arkansas, 25-22. Tuberville may have to beat Alabama to save his job. And good on UNC for beating Notre Dame as the last thing we need is the Irish back in the Top 25 and on their way to stealing a BCS bid. They still might steal one since they should be favored in all of their remaining games until their finale at USC.

As it turns out it was Vern Gagne's picks I posted for both you and Vampiro. I had Vampiro resubmit his picks to me and they matched the ones I recorded in my spreadsheet originally. So here are Vampiro69's picks: THURSDAY Clemson at Wake Forest FRIDAY Louisville at Memphis SATURDAY Texas vs. Oklahoma (in Dallas) Iowa at Indiana Colorado at Kansas South Carolina at Kentucky Kansas State at Texas A&M Notre Dame at North Carolina Michigan State at Northwestern Arizona at Stanford Iowa State at Baylor LSU at Florida Penn State at Wisconsin Oklahoma State at Missouri Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Texas/Oklahoma game? 47 Tiebreak #2: How many passing yards will Missouri's Chase Daniel have against Oklahoma State? 287 That's fine. I'll still use the replacements for this week but you can return next week.

MrRant and Obi Chris Kenobi did not submit picks so they are effectively out of the contest and their teams are put on "probation." Here's your BCS update. There's now five of the six computer rankings available so the unofficial rankings are pretty accurate at this point. Big development is Vanderbilt made a huge jump in the computers after beating Auburn and they are currently #8 in the unofficial standings. Also as it stands right now Utah is ranked above BYU although the Cougars have a chance to change that the week after next when they travel to TCU. Nothing too surprising about the Top 6 except maybe LSU down at #6 as the computers are not big fans of them at the moment but that can change by beating Florida. Unofficial BCS Top 14 per collegebcs.com 1. Oklahoma 2. Alabama 3. Missouri 4. Texas 5. Penn State 6. LSU 7. USC 8. Vanderbilt 9. Utah 10. Georgia 11. Texas Tech 12. BYU 13. Ohio State 14. 24. Hey look, a poll! After what transpired this past week and the craziness of last year, it's safe to say that week to week you can never assume that the big dogs will survive unscathed, especially in conference play. LSU is off this week and BYU might as well be as they play Utah State on Friday but the other six Top 8 unbeatens all play in conference against unranked opponents that they should beat. Of those six teams, the one we know the least about is Texas Tech as I think this will be the first time this year anyone outside of Lubbock will even see one of their games as they played a laughably weak non-conference schedule (Eastern Washington, Nevada, SMU, UMass). For the Top 25 games this week, I'm sure as early as two weeks ago ESABCPN was thrilled about their primetime regional games for this week but both games have lost a lot of thunder. Ohio State didn't put up any sort of fight in their much hyped game against USC and then Wisconsin had an epic fail in the second half against Michigan on Saturday. Oregon, who I think is now starting the equipment manager at quarterback, was upended by Boise State the week before last and we all know about the Trojans being clamped down by the Beavers last Thursday. The night will end with two very disappointing, two loss teams. In other Top 25 match-up we have the biggest game at Vanderbilt since well, ever? Auburn comes to Music City and not only that for the first time ever Gameday will be at Vandy. Is Vandy for real? Probably not, but it's still fun to see them in a game of national importance. Hey you know the baseball regular season is over now when we get Tuesday Night Sun Belt Footbaw! I know I'm excited. And finally, remember when people actually gave a shit about FSU/Miami? Seems like a long time ago now.
