    CONAN is TORONTO

I'm pretty sure it's because he gets Mondays off from taping the show to tape all his skits for the week. Jason I've always thought it's probably for budget reasons that they only do four shows a week. On top of that Conan takes a week off ever three or four weeks. I doubt NBC puts much money into the show.

    ESPN's "All-Exclusive"

I'm fairly certain the thing was just organized by Nike as a fluff piece for its high profile clients. I think Nike has some deal with ESPN right now for orginal programing as I seem to remember a few months back a Roy Jones Jr. special on ESPN that was done by Nike. I wonder if Ahmad can go the whole show without giving Michael a hand job.

The ONE and Only College Basketball...

I hate conference tournaments as a whole and think it completely cheapens the regular season but I a least understand the exsistence of them for the smaller conferences. I don't like a team having to play all year and win their regular season conference title only to see their postseason chances erased by one bad game in a conference tournament. That being said it is the only time a lot of those small conference teams get any national coverage so I accept their exsistence. The major and "mid-major" conference tournaments though are 100% pointless and a complete waste of time. If Stanford and/or St. Joe's goes undefeated what do they have to prove by playing three more games in a conference tournament? Same goes for Duke as they have a shot at being undefeated in the ACC. Those teams would have nothing to prove and shouldn't have to risk injury by having to play three more games.

Newsday reports the Yankees are about to sign Travis Lee. http://www.nynewsday.com/sports/baseball/y...hort-navigation Now why did they waste 750k to sign Clark? Not that it will cripple the Yankees either way. Good move for them as Lee is very good defensively and can spell Giambi late in games. He's also coming off the best offensive season of his career and I still don't get why the Devil Rays felt they had to get Tino Martinez and not keep Lee.

    Smackdown Spoilers???

WWE here has Eddy go over since they know that even marks can figure out that they are setting up Brock/Goldberg at WMXX and that Brock won't be facing anyone in the #1 contender match, thus Brock is dropping the title on Sunday. They go against their typical pre-PPV booking of having the loser of the PPV match get the upperhand to make people think that maybe Brock will actually win. They obviously got the person who wrote this report to doubt Eddie's chances.

    NBA Midseason Awards

Well that's moot for this topic since its the midseason awards, not what we think will happen. And no it wouldn't because just making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference is about a step above the World's Greatest Grandpa award. There are better players on better teams who deserve to win the MVP.

    NBA Midseason Awards

Going back to what sparked the MVP debate, not only is LeBron James not the best player in the league his team wouldn't even make the playoffs if the season ended today. Not making the playoffs...in the Eastern Conference. LeBron doesn't deserve a single vote for MVP. It's Kevin Garnett hands down at the moment. P.S. Carlos Delgado had a better year than A-Rod last year.

  14. He didn't leave, he was fired. This was when Goldberg's push was really picking up steam and pretty much all of his matches were two minute squashes. Regal didn't want to be squashed so he stretched Goldberg out in the match and made him look bad. Recap by John Petrie.
  15. Yup that was the match. Recap of the match by G.P. Ryan off the RSPW message board:

2GOLD, Stanford has been a top flight program since 1998 now so the fans are smart enough not to rush the floor if they had just simply blown out Arizona. But because it was such an amazing finish I can almost guarentee that the reaction of the fans was completely spontaneous. Oh side note, Arizona was ranked #12 in the national polls. There were #21 in the RPI thru last week.

That's a good question. I couldn't imagine any or at least most of the Cuban players in MLB wanting to play for a Cuban national team although Cuba could field their own team with players still in Cuba. But considering the World Cup will be an MLB organized event I'd imagine the first World Cup would be played in the U.S. and there would be potential for difection of Cuban players. I know the Cuban national team played an exhibition game against the Orioles about four years ago in Baltimore but that was just one game. A World Cup would probably take two weeks at least to play. Now I'd have to look it up but are their enough Cuban born players in MLB to field a full team? If there is then MLB could maybe just put together a team and call them the "Cuban All-Stars" or whatever name they'd want to come up with. Then players like Palmeiro and Lowell might be willing to play.

Its time for the annual talk of a Baseball World Cup, currently targeted for next Spring. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor..._tim&id=1727894 I'm not that big on the idea and the second a star player suffers a serious injury that will be the last you'll see of it.

  22. Starr didn't deserve Super Bowl I MVP, Max McGee did but because it was the first Super Bowl the NFL wanted to give the award to the clean cut quarterback and not the literally hungover receiver. Bradshaw didn't deserve the MVP in Super Bowl XIV, John Stallworth did. Brady didn't deserve the Super Bowl XXXVI MVP, Ty Law did. Montana could have won four MVPs considering in Super Bowl XXIII he did lead the 49ers to the winning score the final minute but Jerry Rice was basically the 49ers entire offense most of the night so that's why he won. The only MVP he might not have deserved to win was Super Bowl XVI but there were no standout players in that game.
  23. The problem is they aren't showing any of the episodes from the first couple of seasons. I was happy to see they showed the episode where the get "drunk" off of non-alcoholic beer which was one of the last great episodes they had.
