Hmmm starting to think I should have gone with Virginia. I felt both teams were evenly matched and when it came to like opponents Pittsburgh barely beat Virginia Tech while Virginia beat them by 14. Maybe I was just thinking too much about Pittsburgh having Larry Fitzgerald.

Damnit I knew I'd get accused of fixing this! Anyways picking Cal wasn't that hard because Virginia Tech played like complete shit down the stretch. Under Jeff Tedford they also play better when they play better teams, just ask USC. Cal also played a much tougher schedule than Va Tech and I knew the game would be bigger to them since they haven't been to a bowl game in seven years. The hardest part about picking them was that I hate them so much. Trust me I was really confident with all my picks to this point but it's going to change starting tommorrow as I won't be shocked at all if Virginia wins as I had to practically flip a coin on that game. Also the standings right now almost mean nothing with 327 points still available, 114 alone on January 1st.

Why is Northwestern in a bowl game? Because of conference tie-ins and the Big Ten's final bid goes to the Motor City Bowl. What needs to be changed after this year is there has to be a rule that you must have a winning record to go to a bowl game. Its ridiculous a team can finish their season 6-7 (like Kansas and probably Northwestern and probably UCLA) and call it a success because they went and got their ass kicked in a bowl game. This way then teams like Northern Illinois and Connecticut (although they'll be in the Big East next year) won't get shut out of a bowl game.

They had actually stopped playing the Blue/Gray Game a couple of years ago but guess it's back. You won't see players from top ranked teams because no coach wants a star player to get hurt a week before they play their bowl game. Oh and there is never any blitzing in any all-star games, pro or college, because they want to protect the quarterbacks even more.

Huzzah. You couldn't convince 98% of A's fans of that at the moment but hey hope your right. If Kotsay's back is okay he'll definently bounce back and if he puts up the numbers he did in 2002 in the lead-off spot the offense will greatly benefit. A's haven't been able to fill the lead-off spot since Rickey Henderson left...all four times. It is nearly impossible for Jermaine Dye to repeat his horrendous .514 OPS of last year (at the low price of $11 million) although how much better he will be remains to be seen.

Damnit talk in this thread about the Las Vegas Bowl and not the results thread....err well okay not much to talk about. Knowing Oregon State I thought there was a chance they'd lay an egg here because they've been classic underachievers the last three years. Steven Jackson playing in his hometown I guess was enough to motivate them to play well in this game.

Yes a truly brilliant and hilarious sitcom the first few years of the show but WOW were the last two or three seasons god awful. Totally went away from everything the show was about especially after Roseanne "won" the lottery, which turned out to be just a dream/story or whatever in the last episode to cover up for the last season being such a steamy pile of shit.
