STANFORD~ has beaten the juggernaut that is the Washington Huskies. 3-2 and halfway to bowl eligibility!

I think someone did a 2 out of 14 last year and I seem to recall someone pick 3 out of 20 in a conference championship. Somebody go look through the old threads for me. Carnival right now has a serious chance at 1 out of 14 for this week as his only hope to pick up another point for games still being played appears to be Washington. Edit: Oh you asked to win as well...fuck I don't know. Probably five is my guess.

Hey we gots a footbaw game.

Under Mark Richt, Georgia has always strangely been better a team on the road than at home but this is ridiculous. I wouldn't completely rule out Alabama jumping to #1 after this unless UGA some how makes it respectable in the second half.

It's too bad Houston Nutt doesn't coach at South Carolina.
-
Or not. Okay now it's over. I think.
-
Looks like Wake Forest is going to lose to Navy. Also if last week wasn't proof that maybe ECU wasn't that good, they are getting stomped by Houston this week. Annnd that's the ballgame in Ann Arbor. Wisconsin does seem to have a habit of losing games just when people start to pay attention to them. This was an epic collapse today.

Auto insurance underwriter. Exciting as it sounds.

There's nine of us, including your fearless leader, who are 0 for 5 so far this week. And looking at the 3:30/12:30 match-ups 0 for 8 isn't out of the question.

Game over. After what happened last season and what is happening this week I'm starting to buy into those who think there's a lot more parity in Division I-A now. At least in conference play you can't just assume the alpha dogs are going win in a walk against weaker opponents.

OMG two entries in one day, I'm out of control! This year I decided to track the number of games that each team had televised by MLB's three television partners. The final week's schedule was finalized today so figured I'd actually post the final "standings" for the year. I thought it'd be better to post it on the blog rather than the TWiB form because we don't need another debate of the overexposure of two certain teams from the Northeast and God knows I've instigated a few of those debates. Note there was only one team in MLB that did not have a single game televised by ESPN, FOX, or TBS. Try to guess before scrolling down to find out who. Really shouldn't surprise anyone. ESPN (76 Games) 17 Games: Cubs, Red Sox 15: Yankees 11: Phillies 10: Dodgers, Mets 9: Rays 7: Angels, Brewers 6: Cardinals, Tigers, White Sox 5: Twins 4: Astros, Braves, Indians 2: Athletics, Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, Padres, Rangers 1: Giants, Nationals, Orioles, Rockies FOX (66 Games) 10: Phillies 9: Red Sox, Tigers, Yankees 8: Braves, Cardinals, Dodgers 7: Angels, Cubs, Mets 6: Diamondbacks, Twins, White Sox 5: Brewers, Indians 3: Mariners, Padres, Rays, Reds, Rockies 2: Orioles, Royals 1: Athletics, Marlins, Nationals TBS (26 Games) 8: Red Sox 5: White Sox, Yankees 4: Phillies 3: Blue Jays, Cardinals, Cubs, Marlins 2: Angels, Braves, Dodgers, Mets 1: Athletics, Brewers, Diamondbacks, Indians, Mariners, Orioles, Rays, Reds, Tigers, Twins Totals 34: Red Sox 29: Yankees 27: Cubs 25: Phillies 20: Dodgers 19: Mets 17: Cardinals, White Sox 16: Angels, Tigers 14: Braves, Twins 13: Brewers, Rays 10: Indians 9: Diamondbacks 5: Blue Jays, Padres 4: Astros, Athletics, Mariners, Marlins, Orioles, Reds, Rockies 2: Nationals, Rangers, Royals 1: Giants 0: Pirates

Updated standings since FOX added Royals/Twins to their Saturday schedule and TBS switched from Yankees/Red Sox to Marlins/Mets for Sunday. Royals having more games nationally televised than the Giants makes me giggle. And finally edited again for the White Sox make up game and the A.L. Central playoff. Not that anyone checking this besides me.

Ole Miss doesn't care about Filipino foreskins.

Let's see Maryland barely beats Delaware, loses to Middle Tennessee but then beats Cal and Clemson. So I guess that means they'll lose to Virginia next week.
-
Clemson is down 20-17 to Maryland at home in the 4th. In the grand tradition of the now annual ACC clusterfuck, Duke might as well win the conference this year.
-
TBS has picked up Marlins/Mets for Sunday but after tomorrow it might not mean anything.

And I'm finally done with the best lists, just two days before they are out of date! It is pretty amazing to think that the best season by a pitcher in the last 30 years was by a guy who peaked at age 20. Top 20 Starting Pitcher Seasons since 1979 (per Win Shares) 1. I copy & paste the PM'd picks so you did pick Alabama. I'm actually surprised how few people picked them.
-
Oh well it's better than Who Gives a Shit? Friday.
-
I do prefer people don't change their picks primarily because I don't want to have to bother with re-checking picks and possibly giving any unfair advantages. But I'll allow it since you did edit your post prior to the deadline and your opponent had submitted their picks before you.
-
I'm going to make a bold prediction that if USC does lose, those wacky pollsters will drop them below Ohio State.
-
It looks like TBS has pulled the meaningless Yankees/Red Sox game from their schedule for Sunday. I just hope they don't pick Cubs/Brewers simply because the game will already be nationally televised on WGN.
-
Now you know it's not their night. Could have been a pick six.
