Can we get a real source? There seems to be a rash of people lately posting "news" from these sites that steal their news from others and don't credit them.

Well if Pittsburgh beats Miami and thus giving the Big East to West Virginia then Florida State will be in the Orange Bowl. But if Miami wins it then its going to get ugly. Everyone says if the BCS has to take TCU they'd want to match them up with Texas in the Fiesta Bowl since they are old Southwest Conference rivals. The Rose Bowl isn't going to want either Miami or Florida State but they might be forced to take one, probably FSU because their fans travel better. That would mean it'd be Miami against the SEC champ in the Orange Bowl.

West Virginia is handing it to Pittsburgh. This means the Big East title and BCS berth comes down to the Miami/Pittsburgh most likely. If Miami wins put them in the Orange Bowl but if Pittsburgh wins, West Virginia amazingly will win the Big East. Damnit Texas wins so you can pretty much put them in the Fiesta Bowl now.

Here's an idea...lighten up. Anyways...OHHHio State looks like they just pulled out the sledgehammer.
-
*stabs you in the face* Shut the fuck up. Virginia Tech sucks. Speaking of sucking...Oklahoma didn't beat the spread! 41-3 final.
-
Damn didn't even notice this...Virginia Tech had to go to overtime to beat TEMPLE. Okay get them out of the Top 25 immediately.

FieldTurf has a LOT more padding and give than AstroTurf to the point where its practically like real grass. AstroTurf was basically painted concrete. Its cheaper that's why and that's why AstroTurf was invented.
-
Nebraska plays on FieldTurf. True AstroTurf is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

Here is Friday's quick notes from MLB.com's Hot Stove Report. Again anything already mentioned in previous reports or was already mentioned in the thread today were left out. -Derek Lee is getting some trade interest from the Diamondbacks because the Richie Sexson trade talk has died down. -Diamondbacks are trying to cut their payroll to $80 million. It was at $94 million last year. -Phillies talked to Bartolo Colon's agent but nothing is expected to come out of it as he will likely be too pricey for them. -Gary Sheffield is in talks with the Yankees. -Mike Piazza has reportedly said he would be willing to be traded. -Dodgers re-signed reliever Todd Martin to a two-year, $3.2 million deal. They will apparantly try to re-sign Wilson Alvarez next. -Rockies might listen to trade offers on Shawn Chacon but a deal is unlikely. -Mike Timlin's deal will earn him $2.5 million in 2004. -White Sox have reportedly reach a verbal agreement on a one-year deal with Sandy Alomar. -Mariners will offer a two-year deal to Arthur Rhodes. -Mets are interested in Jose Guillen. -Angels could be interested in Mike Piazza although the interest doesn't seem that great. Unrelated to Piazza, they might trade Jarrod Washburn if they sign or trade for a big-name pitcher.
-
He's a good hitter but he's also probably one of the biggest assholes in the game.

Here are Thursday's notes from MLB.com's Hote Stove Report. Again anything already mentioned I left out. -Mariners have offered a two-year deal to Shigetoshi Hasegawa. -Javier Vazquez said he is flattered the Yankees want him. -John Smoltz has suggested to the Braves that he return to the starting rotation if Greg Maddux is not re-signed. -Odds are Curt Schilling will not end up with the Phillies as they have a policy against deferred contracts and half o his $12 million salary for 2004 is deferred. Reportedly Schilling would okay a trade to the Phillies if he is offered a one-yead deal with an option year. He would okay a trade to the Yankees only if he's offered a three-year extension. -Japanese shortstop Kaz Matsui reportedly doesn't want to play for the Mets. -Mets are now the latest team interested in Luis Castillo. -Indians are interested in Ronnie Belliard. -The Padres are on David Wells' wishlist. -Peter Gammons says that A.J. Pierzynski will be traded to the Padres. -Cardinals and Red Sox are interested in Pat Hentgen. -Cardinals and Yankees are interested in Roberto Alomar. -Dodgers are now another team possibly trying to trade for Richie Sexson. -Dodgers are interested in Korean first baseman Seung-Yeop Lee. -Apparantly 13 teams are interested in Scott Spiezio...well so says his agent. -Devil Rays may have interest in Jose Cruz Jr., Reggie Sanders, Tom Gordon, Pat Hentgen, and Brian Anderson. They have talked to the Cardinals about a trade for Tino Martinez. -Blue Jays back-up catcher Ken Huckaby is apparantly close to signing with the Rangers. -Blue Jays are interested in Chris Gomez as Mike Bordick still plans to retire. Also report is Paul Quantrill will be out of their price range.

Well wouldn't be the first time but I don't think he'll win. Pujols was the player's choice so I'd say he has a shot. MVP announcements aren't till next week. N.L. Cy Young Voting Points (1st place votes) 1. Eric Gagne (28) 146 2. Jason Schmidt (2) 73 3. Mark Prior (2) 60 4. Russ Ortiz 9

If Northern Illionis is 11-1 they'll definently receive an at-large berth to a bowl spot that opens up. There could be as many as three bowl spots that can't be fulfilled by the conferece that it is tied in with. Of course NIU could end up with the GMAC bowl since only the winner of the Miami (OH)/Bowling Green MAC title game will be assured a bowl spot, the Motor City Bowl.
