Pretty much a slaughter to this point. NIU needs to score a touchdown before the end of the half to have any chance. Oh and Craig James is an asshole. In his preview of today's game on Yahoo! he says that he doesn't understand why he's even having to talk about this game and now tune into halftime of the USC/Washington game and he's all happy NIU is losing to get rid of them so they don't have to talk about them anymore and that now they need to get rid of TCU. What a complete fuckin' shill for the BCS and the NCAA.

The match-up in Super Bowl XVI was fairly surprising since the 49ers were 6-10 the previous year and before that had back-to-back 2-14 seasons. The Bengals were also 6-10 in 1980 and before that had back-to-back 4-12 seasons.

Well if they ever get a real playoff (not some lame version that uses the bowls) I really won't give a shit then about a Pac-10 and Big Ten match-up.

Actually the Yankees won the division in '80 and I guess '81 goes down as a division title. People always do associate the 80s as the down time for them but really it was '89 thru '92 when they were truly down. I haven't seen it yet but I knew when I first heard about it and saw those god awful commercials that it was just another sign of ESPN going downhill. Big fucking deal, they won't have a couple house shows in Pigonhole fuck Iowa this weekend. Could it be because the Daughter of the Boss, whom alot of people in the company watched grow up in their very eyes, along with Triple H one of the boys is getting married. Rose Bowl is back to PAC 10 vs Big 10. #1 reason I hate the BCS...people now have to be reminded that the Pac-10 and Big Ten play in the Rose Bowl. Anyways NIU can't get another bowl that isn't tied to their conference unless it is a BCS bowl. Now if a conference doesn't have enough bowl eligible teams for its bowl tie-ins then they become available but if NIU wins the MAC and doesn't make a BCS bowl then they will have to go to the Motor City or GMAC Bowl since they are tied to the MAC.

Trust me they'll make it work, they just haven't figured it out yet but when they do we'll have a playoff. The networks would be in a HUGE bidding war to get the rights to show the entire tournament.

Holy shit how could I have not listed the 20th straight win as I was at the game! Good lord having to watch them blow a 11-0 lead and then win it in the 9th on a homerun was just unreal. The entire crowd was collectively punched in the stomach when the Royals tied it up in the top of 9th and then just went fucking crazy when Hatteberg homered to win it. Great chapter in Moneyball about that game.

Bleh, bowl games are meaningless now with the BCS (outside of the championship game) so having them around with a playoff would be pointless. I'd get more into this but I hoping this topic actually doesn't turn into a bowl games vs. playoffs for another month.

Well point has already been made but yes have to root for Va Tech next week at home against Miami. If they win it will guarentee that their will be a one loss team in the Sugar Bowl which will lead to CONTROVERSY~ over who is most deserving.

I'll add to the whole Lesnar/Benoit thing that the only reason why I'm not looking forward to it because it will be treated as such an insignificant match. It won't get half the promotion of either McMahon match or the Goldberg/HHH rematch and maybe not even the Survivor Series match.

Because don't ya know Taker needs to be strong for Vince! I love a good rant.

Two things about the NFL salary cap that bother me or should I say suggested changes for it. First they need to put in a Larry Bird Exemption type of rule to allow teams to keep veterans who have played a certain number of years with that team. Its ridiculous players like Jerry Rice and Junior Seau have to be cap casualties. Also there needs to be a seperate cap for signing draft picks. Its insanity that teams have to cut veterans just to be able to stay under the cap just to sign their draft picks when not all of them are a lock to make the team.

That'd be my guess since Benoit has no real issue with Lesnar and as already suggested Benoit needs a big win to be built back up as a legit contender again.

Meh, Lesnar/Angle matches were fine for what they were just they were just waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overhyped going in so people ended up being dissapointed but they were still decent. I'd like to see Lesnar/Benoit just because it'd be something new.
