Ratings stinkers? Anyways after there usual beating of Texas in a few weeks Oklahoma's toughest game left is at Colorado. Now Colorado has looked like shit for the last two weeks but they are always better later in the season and Boulder can be a tough place to win. That being said there schedule definently looks favorable the rest of the way. USC doesn't play Oregon this year and gets Washington St. at home and those two appear to be their main competition in the conference. They play Arizona St. on the road in two weeks but ASU looked like shit tonight against Iowa and was unimpresive beating nobodies to start the season so I expect USC will win there. They play Notre Dame on the road still but Notre Dame looks like crap so that should be a win and then what might be there toughest game left is at Washington. I just don't know how good Washington is since they got blown out by Ohio St. and we've seen what they've done since and UW has been beaten up on such powerhouses as Indiana and Idaho since. Right now I just don't see anyone beating USC.

Well Marshall has been very good in recent years with Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich at quarterback. This year Marshall is probably the 4th best team in the conference.

Northern Illinois beat Alabama 19-16. Now with that win and the Maryland win if they can go undefeated they have a shot at fucking up the BCS. They have Iowa St. next week at home so should win that one and then start conference play. They do have to play Bowling Green and Toledo on the road so it will be tough but I'm rooting for them the rest of the way now. They will definently be ranked in both polls this week. Oh one other MAC note, Miami of Ohio blew out Colorado St. 41-21 on the road. Wow the MAC is good. Also no one is going to care but...Stanford beat BYU 18-14 on the road, WOO HOO! I grew up a Stanford fan and they just flat out sucked last year so good to see they might turn it around this year.

Toledo only down 24-21 to Pittsburgh in the 3rd. Northern Illinois up 19-9 late against Alabama. MAC for the BCS! I'd say they are better than the ACC this year. Oh should add since I didn't have it on the national television schedule, even though I doubt anyone will care but, Texas/Rice is on ESPN2 right now. Must have been a late addition because it wasn't even listed on their website.

I've missed almost all the games today as I was busy so I have to see the highlights as to what happened but I'm shocked (and happy as a Pac-10 fan) that Oregon pulled off the upset. I just didn't think they had any defense at all but I guess I under estimated how tough it is to win in Eugene. Damn and Choken has the right idea with Ohio St....they are the Triple H of college football! Hey what happened to Kansas St. beating Marshall 48-10? Sorry Rob had to do it. The MAC is incredibly good this year at the top as Marshall might only be the 4th best team in the conference.

OK, read this. And then read this. Now, you've said that you want Pujols to win, but you haven't really explained why he should win over Bonds. Why does Pujols deserve to win? What has he done that's so spectacularly better than Bonds? I already said it on the previous page that he hasn't played enough this year and will play less than 130 games. That's just too many games missed IMO and due to that Pujols has a huge edge in several categories. Anyways I also agrue Pujols to counter the argument that it has to be Barry and no one else, the same thing with A-Rod in how people advocate him just because he's A-Rod and no on else deserves consideration. Hell could make a case for Eric Gagne for MVP but that's opening a whole other can of worms.

Your absolutely kidding yourself if all that armor Barry wears doesn't contribute to his walks. I didn't say it was the only reason he's pitched around too but it adds to it. I missed the point? Again answer me this...when did the MVP become a lifetime achievement award? Bonds has made his case for being the best player already and people talk about his last two year's more than they talk about this year. Again voting Pujols MVP is in no way denying Bonds his place in history. That's not my full logic. I don't think a player who played for a losing team and especially a last place team that hasn't competed all year when it comes to A-Rod deserve the award.

Hey I love sabermatics as the next person but if batting average means nothing then essentially your saying hits mean nothing. Pujols is hitting .365 which is a pretty hard thing to do. Hey no one takes batting average as seriously as they used to but its ludicrous to just simply throw it out as a meaningless statistic now. Baseball isn't only about homeruns kiddies. Oh please the Giants are good, competitive club without Bonds. Might not compete with minor league teams? You lose all crediblity right there with such a ridiculous statement. Maybe Barry would get a few more pitches to hit if he took off all that ridiculous armor he has. He isn't afraid to get hit by a pitch because it won't hurt so he completely takes away the inside part of the plate. Yes and I'm sure NO ONE pitches around Pujols. I mean jeez if I believe ESPN Barry is the only power hitter in baseball that pitcher's pitch around too. What you just said is absurd. I'm sorry when did the MVP become a lifetime achievment award? So if Barry next year misses half the season and only hits 15 homeruns he should be MVP because he's THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL-TIME BAH GAWD?! If Bonds doesn't win the MVP guess what he's still going to the Hall of Fame and no one is denying his place in history if they don't vote him for MVP. Just like last year people not voting A-Rod MVP doesn't mean we don't think he's not one of the best if not the best player in the game.

30 games he missed? Um not quite. He's missed several games this year to various nagging injuries (back and knee). Stargell lucked out that year as Hernandez had 10 first place votes to Stargell's 4.

Bonds' numbers blow Pujols' numbers away. And as for the not-enough-games argument (besides the fact that 120-130 games is still more than enough to be considered), have you seen the Giants' record with and without Bonds? With him, they can win a World Series. Without him, they're the Padres. And that is the very essence of a Most VALUABLE Player. Take Pujols out of the Cards' lineup and they can still post a respectable record, but Barry makes the Giants what they are -- first team to clinch a division, and the co-favourites to represent the NL in the World Series. The injury argument can go two ways. Yes there is the argument of look at their record without him but then there is the argument of look how many games he cost them by being hurt. I'm pretty sure no player has played as few as games as Bonds and won the MVP in a full 162 game season. I'd have to research it to make sure. Bonds numbers blow away Pujols? Wow. Pujols has 25 more runs scored, 29 more doubles, 37 more rbi, 26 points higher batting average. Blow away indeed.

Okay now I know batting average doesn't really mean anything, well it does some what but just isn't given as much credit as it used to and isn't a fair way to judge a player. BUT the voters do look at batting average and like I said earlier its been 14 years since any player in either league won the MVP with a sub-.300 avg and the lowest average ever for an MVP winner was .269 by Roger Maris in '61. Thome is right at that and Thome isn't breaking the homerun record so I seriously doubt he is going to win it. Bonds is going to get sympathy votes for his dad dying but I don't think he's played enough this year to deserve the award a la Pedro when it comes to the Cy Young. I think the MVP should go to Pujols although the Cardinals collapse isn't going to help but I'd give it to him.

    Sept 19 in the W/WWF/E

Your also under estimating the power of the Ultimate Warrior. Remember in WCW he showed that he had the ability to appear out of thin air and through fog machines! I'm sure he just grabbed Flair and in a cloud of smoke they reappeard in Indianapolis and kept on wrestling!
  16. Wait wait wait I thought October was D-X reunion time? Or maybe that is when WWE is bringing back WCW? So confused. Now I know! Its the cruiserweights are going to get pushed time of year! Okay I made that one up.

Thoughts on the Iron Man Match

Just watched it...I dug it. I think it was never going to live up to everyone's expectations. I think everyone knew going in that there was no way it would be a MOTYC. The match does blow away anything you'll see on Sunday that you have pay $35 for although I guess that isn't saying much. But hey I stayed interested through most of the match, they limited the match to one ref bump and zero interference which surprised me, and I legitmently wasn't sure who was going to win (didn't read the spoilers this week) at the end there so hey I'll take it for what it was worth.

    Considering a Fuck Goldberg boycott

Errr so what should happen...Triple H hold the title while he's off t.v. for almost two months? Oh and let me add...you people continue to give the "World Title" waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much credit. It isn't the World title....the one on Smackdown is. Seriously who gives a shit if Goldberg holds the #2 title in the company? I don't give a shit HHH has it I'd just like to see him do some jobs every once in a while.

Its not...if you watched what Miguel Tejada did for the A's last you'd know. Ya, ya, ya the A's have the pitching but they don't make the playoffs last year without Tejada and THAT is more important than straight up statistics. They probably don't make it this year either without him and no I'm not saying he should win it this year because of his slow start his overall numbers just aren't good enough. But fact his he had MVP numbers last year and his team got to the playoffs so he won the award. Its the way it is and and its not going to change anytime soon. But as I sorta said earlier I bet A-Rod wins it this year because everyone feels sorry for him. Boo hoo.

So no player who ever played 1st base should have ever won the MVP? Again Jorge Posada is your MVP if you go by position being that relevent. Delgado has more rbi, doubles, a OBP almost 30 points higher, and a better OPS. Well since we're comparing to A-Rod, Anderson has almost twice as many doubles, has more rbi, has a batting average almost 20 points higher, and has 35 fewer strike outs. My whole point by bringing up someone like Anderson is that you act like its A-Rod hands down and no one else even deserves a second of consideration. I wouldn't vote for Delgado or Anderson either. Should be noted that A-Rod is just a point below .300 and no player was won the MVP with a batting average of less than .300 since Kevin Mitchell in '89 and none in the A.L. since Don Baylor in '79. Both played on winning teams.

Hey I wouldn't vote for Delgado but if everyone is going to have sympathy for A-Rod then I got other non-contending players who deserve consideration too. Hell I think you could make a serious case for Garret Anderson over A-Rod. A-Rod had a better year last season and had a better year in '96 when he was barely lost out so why should he win it now?

I think what position you play is irrelevent otherwise the MVP should probably be Jorge Posada...and who wants that? Ya Manny probably has killed his chances by just being a jackass otherwise I think he'd be the favorite.
