This list is a travesty as we have the least clutchiest player in the history of mankind on top. I'm ashamed, your ashamed, and Jeter is ashamed. Finally college football is back...in four days. Once again this year with the holiday weekend we will get five straight days of games starting on Thursday. The biggest game of the opening week is Illinois/Missouri which was really fun game last year that didn't get much attention as no one knew how good those two teams would end up being. Also have Alabama/Clemson and it will just be interesting to see how much the winning team's fanbase overreacts. It's just good to know that for the next 15 Saturdays, you have no reason to leave the couch. Network/Basic Cable Schedule THURSDAY N.C. Can anyone ever remember when a pooch kick actually worked? It's like the prevent defense for special teams. And overtime. Time for Mike Patrick to bring up Britney.

This was a cripple fight for three quarters and then out of no where we get some exciting footbaw in the 4th.

You know the drill. As always giving an extra day to submit picks for the opening week and this year it's especially needed because there are three games to pick for Thursday night. Didn't plan on it originally but the overall slate of games isn't particularly good in terms of competitive games so was kinda forced to do this. Remember if you do not get your picks in on time for the first deadline on Thursday you can not receive any points for those first three games. Also for those new to the contest you must submit your picks for all the 14 games to get credit for Thursday as I don't take partials. If any newbies to the contest have questions please PM me. When I receive picks either in the thread or by PM, I will make that team with an asterisk. Week 1 Deadlines Deadline #1: Thursday, August 28th, 7:30 PM EST/4:30 PM PST -Lose out on all three Thursday games. But Jim Rice was feared by pitchers, was Clark? Statistics can't tell you that! Now Clark was feared by the media as he had a personality like Jeff Kent which probably explains why he received almost no support for the HOF.

God dammit. I'm still trying to memorize the new players for this year.

The worst offensive season by a rightfielder has stood for over 100 years as Jack Dunn in 1902 had an OPS+ of 56 (.211/.256/.249). But for this modern exercise, 1999 was officially The Year of the Shitty Hitting Outfielder as players from that season have topped the list at each outfield spot. Time for the first rankings of the year. Again the preseason rankings were just their for the opening week and everyone starts from scratch. Now for the first week since obviously we have so many identical scores it leads to a lot of ties in the rankings so I do use the preseason rankings to break those ties. As already mentioned in the sign up thread, same BCS "formula" as last year (65% for W/L, 30% for Correct Pick%, 5% for "Strength of Schedule") and also again will have the "Other Receiving Votes" category which the teams ranked 11 to 14 in alphabetical order. Now it took a while last year for any CONTROVERSY~ but hey we got some in Week 1! 909 was the only player to score 11 points but he misses the top spot by an eyelash. Bored Championship Series Rankings thru Week 1 1. Buffalo - Carnival 1.35 2. Florida State - 909 1.4 3. Georgia Tech - iggymcfly 1.7 4. Ohio State - Gert T 1.7 5. Texas - Broward83 2.75 6. So uh, how 'bout that ACC? Yeesh.
-
The roof is starting to cave in on Utah. Michigan has no business being in this game but here we are.
-
At this point, I just want this season to end already.
-
Fact is Michigan just doesn't have the personnel to run the spread right now. They are very lucky this game hasn't gotten out of hand (yet) as this has been total domination by the Utes.

Hawaii wasn't going anywhere this year anyways as they were picked to finish 4th in the WAC. And another epic fail by the Waanstache. There goes any job security he earned from the West Virginia win.
