Actually it's 32 (if you include the BCS Championship, which it is a bowl to itself), so you'll see the lower half as well especially when six Conference USA teams get to go to bowls.
-
Iowa is finished. If we assume that the Big Ten doesn't get a second team in the BCS, Illinios has a very slim shot, they will have seven bids. They currently have eight teams with seven wins or more which will leave either Indiana, Michigan State, or Purdue looking for an open bid (Armed Forces Bowl is likely, Emerald and Texas Bowls also could have one). Hopefully no nightmare scenario happens to the Hoosiers where they get left out in the cold. They haven't been to a bowl game since the 1993 Independence Bowl.

1. Head-to-Head -You beat VX, VX beat Edwin, Edwin beat you, so it's a wash. 2. Overall Record -VX is 9-3, you and Edwin are 8-4 so VX qualifies. Then it goes back to head-to-head where Edwin beats you.
-
Amazingly every match-up that had an impact on the conference title games has already been decided so might as well announce the schedule for the next two weeks: Big 8 Championship Nebraska (Mecca) vs. Oklahoma (Secret Agent) Big MAC Championship Rutgers (the pinjockey) vs. Miami of Ohio (Hawk 34) Pac-8 Championship UCLA (phoenxrising) vs. Stanford (Bored) Southeastern Seven Championship South Carolina (Cuban Linx) vs. UTEP (Angel Grace Blue) Western Atlantic Championship Boise State (Vitamin X) vs. Virginia (Edwin MacPhisto)

It's over, Alabama loses to the #96 team in the BCS at home. This is quite the disastrous end to Nick Saban's first year. Vandy's loss doesn't lock up a bid for them either as if Mississippi State and South Carolina finish 7-5, the Tide would be the odd team out at 6-6 unless of course they upset Auburn. Notre Dame is going to beat Duke which I'm actually happy with as I was fearing that Stanford would hand the Irish their 2nd win next week. Now I just have to worry about giving them their 3rd win which would still suck.
-
Vandy misses a 49 yard field goal in the final minute, Tennessee will hang on 25-24. That's it for their bowl hopes, even if they become eligible next week there is no chance of them getting an invite over an Alabama or South Carolina.
-
Also of interest in the SEC right now when it comes to the last few bowl bids, Alabama is losing to UL Monroe 21-14 entering the 4th. If Vandy and Mississippi State can get to 7-5 both Alabama and South Carolina could be sitting at home this bowl season if they finish 6-6.
-
Still nothing from Urban Warfare. He doesn't show up, Nate's picks will be used for Florida.
-
The only logical, true playoff that could work is eight teams with the six BCS conference champs and any non-BCS conference unbeaten gets an automatic bid. Use the BCS formula (under some other name) to pick the at large team(s) and seed them using the formula. First round are played at the higher seeded teams stadiums, semi-finals and finals are played at neutral sites. Four team playoff will never happen as the BCS conferences would never agree to a playoff that could leave their champion out of it and a 16 team playoff would be awesome, but overkill and have many logistical issues. I'll give you two words as to why their isn't a playoff already: Rose Bowl. They want nothing to do with it.

Ya, I don't see a three loss Pac-10 team getting a BCS bid either. The most likely conference champ to finish below Hawaii or Boise State is Michigan if they win tommorrow. I still say that Hawaii gets the Top 14 automatic bid if they finish 12-0.
-
USC doesn't need to move up is the point. If they run the table the Fiesta Bowl will jump all over them. Of course if Oregon loses another game then USC would win the Pac-10 in that scenario and go to the Rose Bowl. I'll run through the Pac-10 most likely scenarios at this point. If USC and Oregon run the table: Oregon goes to the Rose, USC to the Fiesta. If Oregon and Arizona State run the table: ASU goes to the Rose, Oregon to the Fiesta. If USC runs the table and Oregon loses another game: USC goes to the Rose, ASU goes to the Fiesta (if they are still ranked in the Top 14)
-
If Hawaii wins out they are a lock to end up the Top 14 which will give them an automatic bid. Boise State still has a realistic chance as well if they win out.
-
For a program that hasn't been to a bowl game since 1998, storming the field after beating the #2 team in the country is acceptable. And they are already starting.
-
Game over. Oregon can still win the Pac-10 if USC beats Arizona State and forces a three-way tie which obviously the Ducks win by beating them both. That's assuming they take care of UCLA and Oregon State which I wouldn't assume at this point. You have to wonder how excited U of A fans can really be about this as this will save Mike Stoops' job.
-
Even if Oregon pulls this game out they will be dropped in the human polls especially if it is determined that Dixon is done for the year. They'd have no chance against LSU with Leaf at quarterback so it'd be better to put the Big XII champ in there. This is really unfortunate.
-
Spoke to soon.

His team made the World Series, so there ya go. He might have gotten a four year deal if the Rockies won it all. Quite the accomplishment by the Mets to get rid of Paul Lo Duca and actually get worse at the catcher position.

It was announced today that something called the College Basketball Invitational will start this year as the 3rd postseason Division I tournament. Basically it will pick up the scraps that the NIT didn't already pick up from the regular tournament. The odd thing about the tournament is the finals will be a best of three format.

The Thursday and Friday games this week are pretty unappealing in terms of having many differing picks so I've decided to just leave the ESPN Thursday game there as a possible free point, although doesn't always workout that way, and skip Friday. Fokai is on the chopping block this week. He had mentioned to me having some computer problems when he was late the previous week so I don't think he's dropped out but have to assign replacements just in case which will be Carnival. Urban Warfare's picks will be used for Penn State. Week 11 Deadlines Deadline #1: Thursday, November 8th, 7:30 PM EST/4:30 PM PST -Lose out on Thursday game. Not the most exciting of line ups this week as there is just one BCS Top 25 match-up and it doesn't involve anyone with national title hopes. Oregon is off this week and LSU might as well be as they are playing Louisiana Tech. Kansas is at Oklahoma State, who is one of the most inconsistent teams in the country even during games as was shown last week against Texas. Ohio State might have be careful of not looking ahead to next week in their game against Illinois but I don't think anyone is anticipating an upset.
