New AP Poll - So much for the good feelings about this poll as Louisville is three spots ahead of Kentucky, although Coaches' was worse as they have them four spots ahead. First Harris Poll I believe comes out next week. 1. USC (46) 2. LSU (19) 3. Florida 4. Oklahoma 5. West Virginia 6. California 7. Texas 8. Ohio State 9. Wisconsin 10. Penn State 11. Rutgers 12. This site has future schedules, although of course they are incomplete. Rutgers starts a series with Notre Dame in 2010. Kansas State has UCLA, Miami, and Virginia Tech coming to Manhattan in the next decade. One thing about OOC scheduling is that these games are set so far in advance it is impossible to know what programs will be doing well and which ones will be rebuilding by the times the games are played. USC plays Ohio State the next two years but after that they have Virginia in 2010 and Syracuse in 2012. Both right now look like easy games but who knows where those programs will be then.

Unless something changes, yes.

Things are still going to form with the rankings, there are nine unbeatens left and they represent 1 thru 9 in the rankings. I thought this week we might have a 2-1 team pass a 3-0 team but didn't quite happen but in the next couple of weeks, as things space out more, we should finally get some CONTROVERSY~. It looked like teke184 might lose the top spot with a below average week but he hangs on for now. Very few changes this week with the Top 4 all winning with the only real drama is to see who is the top 2-1 team in the land. Bored Championship Series Rankings thru Week 3 1. LSU - teke184 1.65 2. Oklahoma - Secret Agent 1.9 3. South Carolina - Cuban Linx 2.65 4. Syracuse - CanadianChris 3.05 5. Florida - Urban Warfare 3.7 6. Texas - UTBroward 5.05 7. Hawaii - Fokai 5.05 8. N.C. State - AboveAverage484 7.25 9. Miami of Ohio - Hawk 34 7.45 10. For the 2nd time in the history of the contest, tiebreak question #2 decides a match-up as AboveAverage484 beats UZI Suicide by coming closer to guessing Erik Ainge's passing yards of 249. And you left out Iowa losing to Iowa State. STANFORD~ is destroying 2006 New Mexico Bowl Champion San Jose State 37-0. Woo hoo no 0-12 season!
-
It's all over, Duke beat Northwestern 20-14 to snap their 22 game losing streak. Northwestern had first and goal on the 7 in the final 30 seconds and couldn't punch it in.
-
Oh damn, almost Blue Grass Miracle #2.
-
Holy crap! Louisville's defense bites them on the ass again just when it looked like Kentucky blew it with the personal foul. Still 28 seconds left but Louisville has no timeouts. Edit: Kentucky doesn't go for two which is bizarre to keep it at six points.
-
Now 44-6, even at #11 this has to drop them out of the Top 25. Going to be an ugly day for the Pac-10 if USC doesn't take care of business tonight. Kentucky has jumped Louisville early 13-0.
-
Just got home from the A's game and after skimming the posts don't see any mention of UCLA getting humiliated by a mediocre Utah team, 34-6. I wasn't sold on the Bruins being a near Top 10 team but god damn what the hell happened?
-
And The Citadel is tied with Wisconsin late in the first half. Now that would be a bigger upset than Appalachian State. With the way the Badgers have played the last six quarters you really have to question their Top 10 status.

Texans - 16 points Jacksonville Pittsburgh Cincinnati Green Bay Carolina Tennessee New Orleans San Francisco Dallas Detroit Seattle Chicago Baltimore Denver New England Philadelphia

Angel Grace Blue's picks will be used as replacements for Ohio State if Gert T doesn't show up.

Kotz and therealworldschampion didn't show up so for time being kkktookmybabyaway will take over Tennessee and Penn State becomes a "probation" team with Danville Wrestling's picks used for this week. If Kotz or real ever do return they will be allowed to reclaim their teams but neither will be eligible to win the contest at this point. AboveAverage484, phoenixrising, and Gert T are late with their picks. For those complaining about the match-up, again remember MNF doesn't mean shit anymore. It's Sunday Night Football on Monday's plain and simple. And that was terrible personal foul call on the face mask. That could end up being a killer since the 49ers offense can't move the ball at all.
-
Daric Barton is in the line up tonight for the A's to make his MLB debut. God I hope he gives me some reason to even bother watching this team the last few weeks of the season. I've given up on a winning season now I just want them to not finish in last place.

My Week 2 Useless Comments on Games I Watched for More than Two Seconds Texas Tech 49, SMU 9. Given this result and their struggle to beat North Texas maybe the Ponies won't break their post-Death Penalty bowl drought after all. Clemson 24, Florida State 18. When will the Bobby Bowden Retirement Tour begin already? Louisville 58, Middle Tennessee State 42. If you give up 42 points at home to a Sun Belt team you're probably not Top 10 material. Cincinnati 34, Oregon State 3. Thank God I forgot to mention last week that Yvenson Bernard was my super sleeper Heisman candidate. Rutgers 41, Navy 24. I had no idea Ray Rice's mom was retarded. West Virignia 48, Marshall 23. HEY REMEMBER 37 YEARS AGO THE WHOLE MARSHALL TEAM DIED IN A PLANE CRASH AND THEY MADE A DISNEY MOVIE ABOUT IT STARING MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY AND IT'S NOW ON DVD. WAIT IS THERE A GAME GOING ON? Nebraska 20, Wake Forest 17. For anyone who thinks USC might be running into a buzzsaw next week in Lincoln always remember Bill Callahan is their head coach. Oklahoma 51, Miami 13. Nothing good can ever come from the Sooners being dominate again. California 34, Colorado State 28. My insanely biased, bold prediction: Cal will only be the 5th best team in the Pac-10 by the end of the year. Boston College 37, N.C. State 17. Now why exactly did Tom O'Brien leave BC again? Anyone? Texas A&M 47, Fresno State 45. Game of the day. The Coaches' Poll inexplicably moved A&M up five spots for this win so I'll just assume Dennis Franchione gives great head. Washington 24, Boise State 10. This wasn't an upset, Boise just isn't that good. Oregon 39, Michigan 7. The scary thing for Michigan fans' is that Oregon probably will only end up going like 8-4 this year. And yes we can officially all start redoing our "Greatest Upsets Ever" list as the Appalachian State game suddenly doesn't seem like that big of a deal. South Carolina 16, Georgia 12. And who says SEC Football is boring? Zzzzzzzz. Penn State 31, Notre Dame 10. Jimmy Clausen getting his ass kicked in front of his family is fine entertainment. East Carolina 34, North Carolina 31. Seriously CSTV needs to have their top scoreline and their bottom line take up less of the screen. It's like trying to watch a game in letterbox format except without the widescreen enhancement. UCLA 27, BYU 17. I'm not quite sold on UCLA being a near Top 10 team. Texas 34, TCU 13. Yup there ain't going to be a Boise State story this year. Sorry I don't buy into the "Look how shitty their schedule is!" argument for Hawaii especially after almost losing to Louisiana Tech. South Florida 26, Auburn 23. For the second straight year it looks the Big East will be better than the ACC yet they'll be stuck with by far the worst bowl tie ins of any BCS conference. LSU 48, Virginia Tech 7. THANK YOU GOD! Now just need LSU to lose because LSU playing for the national title in New Orleans will still get way too many pants full in Bristol, CT. Wisconsin 20, UNLV 13. I'll say it right now, even if they go undefeated the Big Ten champ should not be in the BCS Championship Game. Arizona State 33, Colorado 14. Never underestimate Dennis Erickson's ability at the college level. His teams have zero discipline but they simply don't give a fuck and they will kill you if given the opportunity. Bored's Poll 1. LSU 2. Oklahoma 3. USC 4. Everyone else

A lot of intriguing match-ups this week including what on paper is the biggest non-conference game of the year. Interesting to note that ESPN only has a three hour and fifteen minute block for the Notre Dame/Penn State game which means most of the country is probably going to miss the start of the Virginia Tech/LSU game because God forbid you cut away from Notre Dame early. In fact the original plan was to have Gameday from Happy Valley but those plans were scrapped after Saturday's debacle and it will now be from Baton Rouge. Yes the Coaches poll is worse than usual this week. Texas A&M moved up five spots for nearly losing to Frenso State at home. Also Auburn finished with more votes than South Florida. Link
