    TSM QUESTIONS YOUR LOYALTY

I think it might be time to bump this topic and I'll pose this question: As a kid did were you a bandwagon fan of any particular team/school? And did you eventually stop rooting for that team as you grew older or do you still have some form of loyalty towards that team/school? For me I was huge bandwagon Lakers fan in the late 80's. I had two Magic Johnson posters on my wall and the first basketball game I ever went to was a Lakers game against the Warriors in 1987. But around the age of 14 I decided that it was time to support the local team, the Warriors and I've remained a fan ever since even if they have been completely unwatchable for most of these years. I still have fond memories of those 80's Lakers teams but I have no allegiance to current incarnation.

    NCAA Tournament

CBS always has a national game on both Saturday and Sunday for the 2nd round. Not to show my west coast bias but it is kind of lame that Pac-10 teams get placed in the morning slots both days. UCLA would probably have a major beef with a 10:00 AM PST tip in a virtual road game against Villanova, if they hadn't been completely smoked today. Sunday's tip times. Arizona State vs. Syracuse, 12:10 PM/9:10 AM Wisconsin vs. Xavier, 2:20 PM/11:20 AM Dayton vs. Kansas, 2:30 PM/11:30 AM Cleveland State vs. Arizona, 2:40 PM/11:40 AM Oklahoma State vs. Pittsburgh, 2:50 PM/11:50 AM Marquette vs. Missouri, 4:50/1:50 PM USC vs. Michigan State, 5:00/2:00 PM Siena vs. Louisville, 5:20/2:20 PM

Now why exactly was a #8 seed in Ohio State given such a favorable pod placement? It sounds like a Buckeyes home game in Dayton. Wisconsin/FSU also heading to overtime.

    Loser League: September

Ohhhhhhh what a finish! Okay not really as all races were decided before the last day of the season. But we did have a surprise as the '03 Tigers, losers of 119 games, will not advance to the postseason as they were beat out by the '88 Orioles for the Loser Card. All the division races went to those who have been "leading" most of the year. Here are your A.L. playoff match-ups. '88 Orioles vs. '79 A's '79 Blue Jays vs. '82 Twins And let's recognize those who were the best of the Loser League on the A.L. side. It was announced Evan Longoria will be replacing Chipper Jones. They might not be able to replace Youkilis as the only other first baseman available on the provisional roster is Derrek Lee but he has strained right quad so he won't be joining the team. Looks like they are going to try Mark DeRosa at 1st.

Since we got two competitive 7/10 games going and a potential huge upset in the making in Philly going to get a AIM chat going for the second half of those games and the late games. 14. I almost posted this last week but I'm so sick of this subject I was hoping just to avoid it. Needless to say this isn't going to put more butts in the seats. We've dealt with two ownerships over the last 14 years who have done nothing but talk about how shitty the stadium they play in is and what shitty fans we are. And people still wonder why the A's season ticket base is so low?

    Loser League: August

With a month left in the season the '79 Blue Jays have an outside chance of losing more games in the Loser League than they did back in 1979. That would truly be an astonishing feat of futility. We finally had a "lead" change in the West as the '80 Mariners eeked by the '79 A's by one game setting up what should be a thrilling finish. The '03 Tigers still cling to the Loser Card by two games over the '88 Orioles.
