The deal to build the A's a new park in Fremont is officially dead. Really outside the fact that I live slightly closer to Fremont than Oakland, there wasn't a whole lot I liked about the deal. Popular belief is that the A's will now turn their attention to San Jose where the current ownership has wanted to move all along.

Roy Oswalt is mad as hell and he's not going to take it anymore! Okay first off this is just silly. You're an active player and a very good one at that. A-Rod hasn't cost you a spot in the Majors, hell he's not even a pitcher! So why did God let these heathens have their performance enhancing drugs? Jesus didn't need steroids to hit a curveball! But with these new fangled PEDs they keep coming up with who knows they might actually give players telekinesis. I think A-Fraud may have caused Roy's pitches to land out of the strikezone with his mind! Oswalt lost this game and this certainly means that A-ROD COST HIM MONEY!!! For those scoring at home Roy Oswalt has made $46,950,000 in his career and his current contract will guarantee him another $45 million over the next three seasons. And you know what he deserves it, he's a fantastic pitcher and I'm just having some fun here. He has a right to be pissed that there will be a cloud over all players who played in the last 15 years. But he really comes off like a sanctimonious crybaby in this and does anyone really want to hear a millionaire whine about possibly being cost money? Also if Roger Clemens is ever "proven" to have used PEDs in his career, I hope Roy has the same conviction that he has with A-Rod and demand the Astros be stripped of their 2005 National League Championship.

Da Meat Hook is a non-roster invite so he might not even make the team. Guessing Kearns and Harris go to the bench and who knows what you can really expect out of Nick Johnson. I suppose they put Dunn at first or maybe Willingham could move there. A lot of GMs will be calling Bowden for trade possibilities.

Just so everyone is clear that it's not because he lied about his own usage, it's because he lied about other player's usage. Seriously, WHO...THE...FUCK...CARES?????????? Jesus fucking Christ it's steroids, not murder! A total fucking waste of tax payer dollars. And once again this proves Mark McGwire was a lot smarter than people gave him credit for, PR nightmare be damned.

One thing to add to the "why did he wait until he got caught?" nonsense, is there still hasn't been a single active player to confess to using steroids prior to either testing positive or having evidence/accusations of steroid use being brought against them. Until that first active player confesses before being caught, it's rather silly to get self-righteous about A-Rod waiting to confess until today.

Here's a "shock".....Selena Roberts has a book on A-Rod coming out in May.

And how exactly do we know that Griffey isn't on the list? Because he doesn't look like he takes steroids? This is the exact same thing people said about A-Rod. That is not to say that I suspect Griffey used but right now we still have no idea who did and didn't over the last few decades. And I say decades because it is naive to believe that steroids suddenly became popular in the late 90's and early 2000's. Tom House who was a pitcher during the 70's admitted a few years back that he used steroids during the decade. I'd say it highly plausible that there are players already inducted in the HOF who used steroids at some point in their career.
