    Paging Drek Stone.

Hey, it smokes Drek Stone's stuff, especially the big fat nothing he's done in the last four months

    Chris Jericho to TNA?

Hey, if guys like Christian and Shelton jumped ship, TNA would be certainly on the right track.

    Danger Zone 8-22-2005

    - HOF Rundown was well done as well. I like the idea of a TSM Hall of Fame. We could run a ballot in perhaps a couple different categories, as a WWE wrestler probably wouldn't (or shouldn't) fall under the same category as, say, a Puro guy. I'd cedrtainly vote. - *marks out for own name* Glad I got you all choked up too. Haha. - Glad you took the time to answer my Bret email. I think he'll show up at Mania after the HOF induction, but I think he'll wait until Mania is in Canada. - Wow, the show has become international quickly. Australia Loves the Danger Zone! - Sometimes its good to go on tangents. If you ramble, you can always cut it out, but if you like it, then go with it. The best parts of Foley's two books were when he went off on tangents about road stories or just stuff he'd heard or done along the way. - Didn't hear much of the Raw Recap, as the show airs here tomorrow night. Liked what I heard, but I didn't actually think they'd go for something as blatant as a 'You're Fired' match. Overall, its getting better week by week. You've got structure now, which helps a lot. And now you have those little bytes of music, you can do shorter segments so you aren't tired out as quickly. I look forward to the next show, and once we figure out about music, I can put some themes together for you. Great stuff.

    Danger Zone 8-22-2005

Listening right now. Running thoughts... - Good opening. Glad you're reading the emails and explaining the progess of the show. I think its good that you're involving everyone like this, because when listening, if you hear your email or your comment then it'll make you listen a lot closer to the show. - SummerSlam wrap was great. To all the critics, hope you're happy with the positivity, even if it was a little tongue-in-cheek, which comes off good on radio. I like how you went through every match and every guy wrestling, and didn't leave anyone out. - Let your bias shine through. If you hate Eugene, say it, and don't worry about how it comes off. If people disagree, tell them to email you with a counter point. Thats how the show will succeed, if people care enough to email you with counter-arguments. Then we can get debates going, we can get people on the show arguing with you, and arguments are entertaining. More to come.

Bret Hart comments on the WWE

But would Bret do it if he didn't have complete control over his movements and what was happening?

Bret Hart comments on the WWE

Absolutely. Like it or not, until he makes an on-screen appearance, people are going to keep talking about him and the possibility of him showing up. It'd be the biggest thing to happen in wrestling in a number of years.

Didn't order the show, but a question - did Matt come off looking like a complete pussy?

Is Shawn Michaels really turning heel?

I'd pay good money to see Austin no-sell the finger wagging, flash the middle finger, Kick WHAM! Stunner, pinfall.

All New Danger Zone Radio Show (8-14-05)

OK, let me break this down. You're giving honest feedback, thats fine. Then you proceed to, right off of the bat, lambast DA for pretending to be a big shot and critisising something too much? I hate to use that saying that is so, so overused these days, but in the words of Jingus, Pot calling the Kettle a fucking n***** my friend. Really? Well I work in radio too fuckass, so therefore I must know what makes a good radio show, considering I'm a producer and all. I've got no problem is DA's style. He's just starting, he's barely even scraped the surface of what this show can do. You think he's trying to be a big shot that knows too much? Wow, there's one bullshit artist I can see, and it ain't DA. Firstly, its a radio show, yes, but one that was started so DA, amongst other TSM board members, could discuss what was going on in the wrestling world, and voice opinions, whether they be positive or negative. Considering most of the comments around here come off as complaints (mainly because we usually don't have much to be happy about), I'm not surprised that the majority of the show is a negative slant on WWE. Doesn't bother me, and it shouldn't bother anyone else. Now, we get to the second half of your comment here. "Without considering that you may get a non-hardcore smark audience". Newsflash, its TheSmartMarks.com radio. It's made by smart marks, for smart marks. We knew what DA was referring to in the points that he made. There was no need to explain any further than he did. Its an hour-long wrestling radio show, if he had to explain every single thing he said to people that don't understand it, the show would be closer to three or four hours. Then you begin to completely insult DA, and the show, so I'm not going to even bother addressing that, because it's basically pathetic. If you're going to critisise DA's show, or any radio show for that matter, don't use insults right off the bat, you lose credibility. Don't act dumb, don't put stupid comments forward, and above all, don't be a fucking hypocrite.

    Brosnan out as 007

I agree with Clive Owen and Julain McMahon. Has Colin Farrell already turned it down or something, because he'd bring the female audience.

HHH is in the WON HOF

I would assume so, but not at this point in his career.

All New Danger Zone Radio Show (8-14-05)

DA, in case you didn't get my PM, those two spots are done. It's probably best if I send them to you via AIM or something.
  16. You blokes are DEFINATELY still in there. You could still quite convincingly win the series. We just need Matty Hayden or Adam Gilchrist to have an innings like Punter did on Monday. Get back into a little bit of form. Then we'll be ok. Oh, and I'm sorry Dizzy, but you are going through a form slump, and at the moment, can't really bowl for shit. Time for a rest.

HHH now is officially part of creative team

I agree, with you HTQ, there is no excuse for a Multi-Million dollar company to be lazy, but I've come to expect them to be lazy, and to care less and less. They care about their top stars (which is why you didn't see HBK teaming up with Kurt Angle to take on Hogan and Eugene), but anyone in the mid to lower card they forget. Thing is, they won't make house shows count, because they don't need to. Sure, they could have a massive event go down on a house show, but it'd be bad business not to have the angle on TV, which is why they don't acknowledge anything outside of those couple times the IC title has changed hands because of injury (Booker in late 2003 springs to mind). I would assume that the majority of the WWE's revenue would come from Merchandise, buyrates, live events, etc. Not house shows. House show attendances have been in decline for a while now. Vince and co. have shown that they don't really care all that much about that fact. They put on a show, and the angles end when the shows end. There's no follow up on Heat, or Raw, because they don't see a point in it.

    The Summerslam Thread

Didn't see that, haven't been watching all of SD lately (but really, who can blame me). I'd better add that prediction here, I'll make it quick. Benoit should have won last month, so WWE will fiz up their fuxkup and he'll win here, going on to face JBL for the US title at No Mercy, while BIG DAVE~! faces Orton, and Taker faces Eddie (judging from the house show results I saw last week)

All New Danger Zone Radio Show (8-14-05)

The Copyright laws sound pretty air-tight over there, you mean to tell me that even though you aren't profiting from it, you can't play any music whatsoever?

HHH now is officially part of creative team

Yeah, its the inconsistencies that screw it up in our minds, but do you think the casual fan cares who was friends with who this time last year? I don't know why everyone is so shocked, surprised and annoyed that Tripper is on the creative team; we knew it was coming. Don't be surprised if the product goes downhill, because its obvious they aren't trying too hard. If TNA takes off on Spike (a very big IF), then Vince and co. may be forced to try harder.

    The Summerslam Thread

And I'd also like to know the times that no minor belts (not counting the 'minor' WHC) are on the line, just the two main ones. Kinda throws the chance of both champs retaining with the whole 'one title change per PPV' policy they have most of the time, doesn't it?
  22. Adam

    The Summerslam Thread

OK, I suppose it isn't too early for predictions. I'll start. Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels I'm surprised that this is closing the show. I'd really like to see Shawn win this one, but I can't see him going over unless someone else is involved, because I really can't see Hogan jobbing clean at all. It could be the catalyst for a Triple H return, even a Flair return. I'm picking Shawn, because I think something will go down. No Bret Hart appearance though. Winner: Shawn Michaels WWE Champion John Cena © vs. Chris Jericho Good choice for an opponent for Marky Mark here. Jericho hasn't been booked as strong as I'd like coming into this to actually warrant a title shot at what is the top belt in the company, but oh well. I think it has been reported numerous times that Jericho is going on tour with Fozzy after, this, so Cena to go over strong with Jericho carrying him. Winner: John Cena No Holds Barred World Champion Batista vs. JBL Thank the bookers this is a hardcore match, because that was the only way it was going to work. I haven't seen the GAB match and don't particularly want to, but I'm guessing it was pretty bad. This won't be AS bad, there will be a few interesting spots to pop the crowd like a Spinebuster through the top of the Limo (like last year~!) or something. Batista to go over Winner: Batista Matt Hardy vs. Edge Man, what a promo by Edge last week. Amazing. Great intensity. Well, the biggest internet story of 2005 comes to a close at SummerSlam. I'm going to pick Hardy here, which won't help Edge at all, but hell, this is WWE, they don't make much sense. Emo Boy goes over in a wrestling match, which is everything that this match shouldn't be. Winner: Matt Hardy[b\] Undertaker vs. Randy Orton Could be the Match of the Night if they pull one out like they did at Mania. Orton to get his job back, which sounds weird in an Undertaker match. Winner: Randy Orton No Time Limit Eugene vs. Kurt Angle And Kurt follows in HHH's footsteps by destroying Eugene en route to a title match at Unforgiven. Eugene can't go over because of next month's Main Event. Kurt to make Eugene tap, even after 'tarding up. Winner: Kurt Angle Ladder Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero Wow, hasn't this feud been going on forever. Amazing. Well, considering the problems that Dominic has been having emotionally with this angle, I think they'll have to put Rey over, and make this the Raven/Dreamer of WWE, where Eddie never gets a win. In the long run it'll do a lot of harm to Eddie's career, jobbing at every PPV since February, but I think the uberheelness that he has shown in the last month will carry him to a match with Batista later this year, and then a series with Benoit not unlike the one with Rey. Rey to win. Winner: Rey Mysterio

How much longer for Eric Bischoff?

I'd like to see him switch shows and perhaps have someone like Shane running Raw. Like, they hire Bischoff to build SmackDown up just like he built Raw up, and take it from there. I think the Heel GM angle is stale beyond reasonable doubt, so I think we either need the 'Board of Directors' to make the decisions with Vince coming in every now and again, and guys like Bischoff and Long running stables.

I'd count this as a win from our perspective. Punter needed to step up and he did so, so I'm happy with it.
