The dude was out of action for a year with a severely torn up knee. He's only been back for 2 months. Give the guy a break.

Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
QuestionMan replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
That reminds me, I wonder if any of the roh guys skip the HOF to attend the ROH show that night? London, I believe skipped WM20's show for the show in NJ. I could see Spanky and London doing that again. It's not like they can get de-pushed. I remember reading that last year, it wasn't mandatory for wrestlers to attend the HOF show. It's also not mandatory to go on the Iraq/Afghanistan shows. But we all know what happens if you refuse. -
Dave Meltzer just confirmed that the Raw announce team at Wrestlemania will indeed be Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, AND Jonathan Coachman, not just Ross and Lawler as previously hoped.
-
They really need to get rid of Coach. He just fucks everything up out there. I remember Styles and Lawler at Taboo Tuesday were incredible. They made the Flair vs. HHH cage match look about 20x better than it was. It was probably Lawler's best color performance in years and made Styles' WWE career look very promising. But Jonathan Coachman is seriously a cancer behind that desk.

Bret Hart confirms he will not be at WrestleMania
QuestionMan replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
When Shawn Michaels was on "Off The Record" in either 2003 or 2004, he said that he would love to have a one-on-one discussion-like setting with Bret Hart on a future episode of the show. When Bret Hart was on a few weeks later, he responded by saying: "Shawn claims that he's this new guy and isn't the same guy he used to be, but I know he's full of shit. Leopards never change their spots. I know he's the same guy because he'd rather apologize to me on a public forum, on a nationally televised show like the gloryhog, spotlight whore he's always been. He doesn't want to be a real man and apologize to me in private where he can't make a big show out of it. Shawn's made no attempt to contact me whatsoever at any point after I left the WWF, so until he does, he's full of shit if he says he's sorry about what happened. That's one Christian that should be fed to the lions." -

Why'd they change Randy Ortan's new theme back to his old one?
QuestionMan replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
"Yeah, WWE pretty much fucked us on the rights to the song. But it doesn't really bother us. We thought the song sucked and it only took us 2 days to make. The music on the album will be much better than that song, so don't worry." -- Mercy Drive lead singer on their website from October 2004. -
Edge was buried 2 months ago, not right now.

Big Show debuted in the WWF in February 1999, but by November 1998, it was well known that he was not going to re-sign with WCW and was jumping to the WWF when his no-compete expired. Contracts in the Monday Night War era were written/modified so that even if your contract expired, you couldn't appear on opposition television (ECW didn't count) for at least 30 days. So they had Diamond Dallas Page pretty much squash him at Starrcade 1998 and a week or two later on his final Nitro, they had the nWo turn on him and tear him apart and Eric Bischoff cut a burying promo on him while holding his unconscious head up to the camera.

OMG do we really needz a topic on thizzz??!!? Seriously though, I'm glad he went back to his old "Burn In My Light" music. He used this really generic heavy metal music for 2-3 weeks that was just awful and didn't fit him at all. I do believe the heavy metal version is still up on his WWE.Com titantron, so you can go check it out before it gets replaced. EDIT: Replaced already. -
I'm not being sour, fuckface. I just think it's fucking dumb to have to wade through all this shit when I want to talk about one specific thing, because then you start having colliding responses when people start talking about different things. The next time you think about mindlessly flinging accusations at people (especially people like me who gleefully provided the complete, word-for-word WWE and TNA sections of the Observer for at least 45 weeks), just shut the hell up instead.
-
Why don't we just put every fucking thread in that one thread? Jeez.

"So they gave Ashley Massaro a 3-year extension and just let Christy Hemme go, who was obviously the better of the two?" This was my original response.

WWE.Com broke the expected news today that former Intercontinental and Tag Champion Andrew "Test" Martin has officially returned to the company. Martin was originally fired from WWE in August 2004. The firing was conspicuous because Martin was only 4 months into a 12-month rehabilitation for spinal fusion surgery performed by Dr. Lloyd Youngblood. Since his firing, Martin legally changed his middle name to "Test" and was working independents as "Andrew Test Martin". He had been very critical of WWE overall on his website and after the death of Eddie Guerrero, he specifically lashed out at their lack of control over the perscription drug scene in WWE saying, "I didn't even know what a soma was before I started in WWE." There has been speculation recently that WWE wanted to hire back "natural" big men in the wake of the stringent drug testing that started this week in WWE. With this in mind, Chuck Palumbo was previously rehired and Mark Jindrak's return is expected to be announced soon. This will be Test's second run with WWE. His first run started in December 1998 as the "hired gun" of Vince McMahon's Corporation in their war against DX after he was a bodyguard for Motley Crue during an October 1998 performance on RAW is WAR.

Today on her Myspace website, 2005 DivaSearch winner Ashley Massaro announced publicly that she had just signed a 3-year extension that will keep her in WWE until fall 2009. This is her post: What's up!! Thanks for all the messages guys! It was awesome to get back to work, unfortunately interfered by that insane skank Mickie! She's crazy! I just had surgery and that little stunt she pulled could have increased my time before I get back in the ring! Thankfully, I'm ok, the leg is feeling ok, was killing me yesterday but much better now, and hopefully I'll be getting this cast off just a few more weeks. I can not wait. So I can beat that girls a$$. Ok, BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, and you guys are the first to know anywhere, I wanted to make sure my myspace buds would be the first to hear. I just signed my 3 year contract extension with WWE. So as of the expiration of my first contract, you guys got me for another 3 years! YAYYYYYY! I'm so stoked. Big celebration time! Who Gets The Final Money In The Bank Spot?
QuestionMan replied to Detective Comics's topic in The WWE Folder
Lashley wins. -
That was awesome when Test absolutely squashed Kevin Nash within like 3 minutes.

They might have something in there for former WWE/World champions. That's the only reason I can think of that Kane, Big Show, and Randy Orton have first class tickets paid for.

$48 grand a year is good money. I don't know where the fuck you live. I don't know where YOU live, but $48k a year is hardly good money if you plan to not live an apartment on microwave dinners and frozen pizza for the rest of your life. It's certainly liveable money, but you're going to eventually want a little bit more. Especially for poor ol' Maria, who has to pay for her own travel, hotel, rental car, all the stuff that she has to do to keep herself pretty for national television every week, and then take taxes out of it because Vince doesn't.

Trish making more than double the other women is some sort of cosmic justice or maybe she just has a really good agent. I remember her getting a SWEET deal back in 2000 Well, when Trish signed with the WWF in early-2000, WCW and WWF were in a huge bidding war over her. I remember she was backstage at the WCW Mayhem PPV in November 1999 as a personally invited guest of WCW since the PPV was in Toronto. So the fact she got a huge deal back then isn't really shocking, but the numbers do make your eyes open more in 2006 than they did in 2000.

Meltzer said Hogan's WM19 payoff was like $425,000, insanely low for Hogan at WM.

To whoever asked about Bret Hart's WCW contract, Bret signed a 3-year, $7.5 million contract in October 1997 with WCW which paid him $2.5 million annually.
