PWTorch is reporting that Shannon Moore has NOT re-signed with WWE. -Shannon Moore has not signed with WWE as of this evening according to sources with TNA and WWE. He is considering offers from both companies - neither of which are said to qualify as a "bidding war" - and expects to make a decision soon. Moore was offered a contract by TNA months ago, but never signed it. A revised contract was being drafted at the time he received word that WWE was interested in bringing him in. A WWE source says Moore will not be sent to the developmental system if signed but could be immediately re-teamed with Matt Hardy on Smackdown.

Good luck going up against The Daily Show/Colbert Report block.

Yeah, what a moron for signing a contract with WWE that will guarantee him a lot more money than what he was getting per appearance with TNA. Financial security is stupid, right?

Chuck Palumbo is a true testament to the old adage that hard work pays off. Palumbo first came to WWE back in 2001, when Mr. McMahon bought WCW. Palumbo enjoyed a successful tag team career, winning the World Tag Team Championship on two occasions with partner Billy Gunn. Palumbo’s success began to fade, however, and he was released from his contract in 2004. But the former champion didn’t let the news keep him down. Palumbo went overseas and began working in Japan to hone his skills in hopes that he would one day return to WWE. His hard work has paid off, and that day has come. Palumbo recently signed a new WWE contract, and WWE.com caught up with him to talk about his time in Japan, how he got his new contract, who he wants to get in the ring with and much more. WWE.com: What was it like to find out you were coming back to WWE? Chuck Palumbo: It feels really good, and I’m really excited about it. After a non-televised match with Matt Hardy, John Laurinaitis told me they wanted to sign me back. I was at RAW and had a non-televised match against Rob Van Dam and then I had a match with Hardy before SmackDown. I received a call about a week prior to the matches. I was leaving Japan and on my way to Mexico City. They asked me to come in when I was done in Mexico so they could watch me in a couple matches, so I flew to RAW from Mexico City. WWE.com: Have you ever worked with Hardy or RVD in the past? Chuck Palumbo: I worked with Hardy on many occasions. I worked with him when I first came in from WCW and then also a few times after that when he was still with his brother Jeff as the Hardy Boyz. I don’t think I ever worked with RVD before, but we had a good match together. WWE.com: Before hearing any feedback from anyone, how did you personally feel the matches went? Chuck Palumbo: I felt good about them. We had a great crowd response. I thought they were strong, aggressive matches. WWE.com: Were there any hard feelings when you were released? Chuck Palumbo: I actually left on good terms. At that time, I don’t think I was where the company wanted me in terms of aggressiveness. I think I needed to be more aggressive on a nightly basis. So, I think it was an opportune time for me to go to Japan. I immediately went there, and there’s no better way to step up your aggressiveness than to go to Japan. Anyone who’s worked in Japan knows that the style is different. It’s what they call strong style, and you have no choice but to be aggressive, otherwise you’ll be taken advantage of and eaten up. I worked with Great Muta right away and guys who were on top over there and got good feedback. That was the company’s recommendation from the get-go, too, so there were no hard feelings. The door was open for me to come back in the future if I improved. WWE.com: How did you start working in Mexico as well? Chuck Palumbo: The CMLL promoters were in Japan and saw me wrestle. They asked me if I was interested in wrestling for them when I had time off from Japan, so I took that opportunity as well. WWE.com: What are your goals now that you’re back? Chuck Palumbo: I just want to work towards a championship. I think I’m ready to hang with anyone. WWE.com: Is there anyone in particular you’d like to get in the ring with? Chuck Palumbo: Three guys I’d really like to get in the ring with are Undertaker, Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Those are the guys. They know the business inside and outside the ring. The opportunity to work with those guys brings you up another level. There’s no one better than those three. WWE.com: You’ve been primarily a tag team competitor in the past. Does it matter to you if you’re in singles or tag team competition? Chuck Palumbo: I definitely want to be in singles competition. I had fun in the tag team division, but I’m ready to be a singles competitor and be on my own. WWE.com: What can the fans expect to see from Chuck Palumbo now that he’s back in WWE? Chuck Palumbo: They’re going to see a whole new person. They’re going to see a lot of aggressiveness. I have a no-nonsense wrestling style, getting right to the point. It’s not about being pretty. I’m going to have a rough, rugged style – just get down to business.

Could / Should WWE Go Back to Jobber Squashes?
QuestionMan replied to spman's topic in The WWE Folder
RVD has been saying for years now that since the Monday Night War is over, wrestling needs to go back to jobber squashes/enhancement matches. It would allow some lower-card people who lose all the time (Val Venis, Bob Holly, etc.) to look better and the upper-mid carders/main eventers (John Cena, Ric Flair, Shelton Benjamin, Edge, etc.) would look even stronger. RVD argues that no one really gets to showcase their talent anymore because 95% of the time, everyone has to worry about not completely burying the loser of the match. He raises a good point. This is why I've always been against the resurrection of a Saturday Night's Main Event/Clash of the Champions type show. Every Monday and Friday, we get a show equivalent to what those shows were back in the day. I do agree that the jobber squashes need to come back. I remember when Batista jumped to Raw in the middle of 2002 and they had to feed Justin Credible and D'Lo Brown to him in matches that lasted less than 1 minute. I thought, "Why not just have a no-name jobber in there instead of lessening the value of people you're paying 5 figures to?" -
But the problem is that most of those guys weren't World champions. People just can't picture or won't picture Ric Flair, a 16-time World champion, jobbing to curtain jerkers. WWE Monday Night RAW -- September 16, 2002 -- Rico defeated Ric Flair -- Booker T. defeated Test -- Tag Team Champions Lance Storm & Christian defeated Bubba Ray Dudley & Spike Dudley -- Chris Jericho defeated Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam to win the title -- Kane defeated William Regal by DQ -- World Heavyweight Champion Triple H defeated Jeff Hardy

I'm halfway thinking that they just put that there for storyline reasoning. Whenever they release somebody, they always mention best wishes on future endeavors. After reading Jannetty's statement, I'm thinking that WWE just put that there to kind of mess with the net crowd and play along with the kayfabe crowd.
-
According to this, it sounded like Marty was supposed to be at Mania, so maybe they were going to do Rockers vs. McMahons. I would have bought the show to see that. Either way, I'm glad to hear that the reasoning for Jannetty and WWE splitting for now was due to a technicality and not Marty doing anything stupid again. Definitely makes me feel a lot better about the situation.

It's interesting to note that WWE.Com recently updated Danny Basham's thumbnail picture on the Raw superstar page. He's got some thin streaks of black paint on his face.

I'll be sure to watch something else during Maria vs. Lita.

I hate it when people only capitalize the first letter in an acronym.

PWInsider has backed up PWTorch's report by saying that Tolland and Wicks personally did not get along and they got into a fight backstage at a Smackdown show in Mexico.
-
Even as a mark, I didn't like the deal where they only did the semi-final and final matches on PPV from 1996 to 1998. I was stoked when I heard they were doing the full tournament on the PPV again in 1999. And then the 1999 KOTR turned out to be one of the worst and most boring ever. Thanks, Mr. Russo.
-
They should have 3 Raw guys in the match and 3 Smackdown guys in the match.
-
KOTR always sucked ass. 2000 had the potential for an incredible tournament with the likes of Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, and Eddie Guerrero involved. Yet Jericho, Benoit, and Guerrero were eliminated in the first round and Rikishi made it to the finals. I gave up on KOTR after that bullshit.

Candice does have a lot of potential as a wrestler. She's smart enough as an entertainer to hide her green-ness from marks. She definitely has the potential that Christy Hemme had. Ashley Massaro is absolutely horrible in the ring with no promise whatsoever. She's not athletic, she's tragically uncoordinated, and has no idea what the hell she's doing. I think I could work a better match than her. -
Test used to wear those tanktops on TV. I always thought they looked like those female spaghetti strap tanktops.

That was pretty awesome when HHH snuck in the dig at Cena about him not being a very good wrestler. Orton's run-in was very out-of-nowhere, but where can they go with this thing against Chavo? The only thing I can think of is if Orton requests to be removed from the main event of Saturday Night's Main Event to face Chavo in a singles match. Like an earlier poster said, I hope Vince comes to his senses and does McMahons vs. Rockers instead of just Shawn vs. Vince at WM22. That match would seriously blow and be a total waste of HBK at Mania. And does anyone know Marty's status with WWE? Is he back full-time like Tatanka or is this just a temporary thing to move Vince vs. HBK along like last year with HBK vs. Angle? -

I shook my head when Joey Styles pretended that the boos for John Cena were for The Coach. I also did when Vince McMahon called out Chris Masters and Styles said, "Why is Chris Masters out here?" Even though it didn't happen tonight, it's puke-inducing to hear Styles sell Ashley Massaro's slow-motion punches as "vicious". Styles is becoming WWE-ized and I don't like it one bit, sirs and ladies. -
And the Smackdown ME for Mania is...
QuestionMan replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Aren't they doing Undertaker vs. Mark Henry at WM22? -
Yes, they got married a few months ago. And I can't imagine the pay in New Japan is as good as some of the people in this thread are implying. I recently remember hearing that New Japan's business is in the toilet right now and could be compared to WCW 2000.

Honestly, nobody would know who Rocky Johnson ever was if it wasn't for the fact that he was The Rock's father. Tony Atlas was a much bigger name than Johnson ever was. Also to add on with the previous poster, I remember sometime in 1998 or 1999 he got in trouble for playing strip poker with some underage (14-15ish) girls. Why would WWE want to put the proverbial slap in Rock's face anyways? Rock still speaks glowingly about them when asked about wrestling in his interviews. The only negative thing I've ever heard out of Rock recently was when WWE.Com asked him about a potential match with Shawn Michaels.

I remember Brock spent $460,000 for his personal airplane back in late-2003.
