They'll probably give John Tenta/Earthquake a sympathy induction before cancer kills him in a few months.

Yes, Meltzer said in his Sunday update that the winner of the Rumble won't be getting the WM main event, so it gives Rey Mysterio a bigger shot at winning.

So TNA Could Have Gotten Jericho But Went With Sting
QuestionMan replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
Yeah, because Jarrett mentioned Jericho in a promo during his "Flavor of the Month" rant. And to the poster, if TNA could have gotten Jericho with that money instead of Sting, they would have gotten Jericho. Jericho made that "I'd go if I got Sting money" comment in passing when he was told of Sting's TNA salary, and I doubt he was even serious about it. Jericho and WWE are still tight. -
Jim Cornette almost had a coronary when Matt Morgan was released from WWE. He really believed Morgan was the next big star.

Edge seems like someone that fans generally hate, but want to actually see get his ass kicked and not turn the channel. I think he's the best heel WWE Champion since Angle's first run. Because he's so obnoxious. It's looking like Edge = ratings. Let's hope Steph & Co. don't fuck it up too badly like they did when Kane unmasking was spiking the ratings. I also think it's interesting that Edge is sort of splitting his time with two people instead of just feuding with one person.

Next Month's Smackdown magazine has Royal Rumble winner on cover
QuestionMan replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I say that if Rey Mysterio does not win the Royal Rumble, tony manero should be banned for life from TSM. Who's with me? -
I doubt that about HBK refusing to turn heel. He seemed like he was having an absolute blast when they did that RAW in Canada during the Hogan/HBK feud.
-
The 3rd one wins by default.
-
That would be funny if Flair won the Rumble.
-
As someone who used to do the WON recaps, you might want to quit misleading people in your topics, such as "Y2J to TNA".
-
But Linda McMahon is a heel now!

The early estimates are in for last month's Armageddon PPV and the show did its best buyrate since 2002. They early number for the show is around 290,000, which is great for a Smackdown PPV and not that far behind the 375,000 early estimate that Survivor Series did. CREDIT: PWInsider Armageddon 2005 was pretty much a one-match show, banking on The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton in Hell in a Cell to pull in the buys and it succeeded. Armageddon 2002 was before the brand-exclusive PPV era, headlined by World Champion Shawn Michaels defending against Triple H in a 3 Stages of Hell match (Street Fight, Cage, Ladder) and WWE Champion The Big Show defending against Kurt Angle.

Ultimate Warrior Files Lawsuit Against WWE
QuestionMan replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
I always thought Warrior looked stupid in that singlet. -
From PWInsider The man that used to be known as Jim Hellwig, now known (legally) as Warrior Warrior, has filed a lawsuit against WWE on 1/9/2006 in The Superior Court of Arizona, Maricopa County. He is filing over the depiction of his wrestling career in the Ultimate Warrior DVD. The following is from the courthouse website. Click Here To See The Filing

SpikeTV Cancels TNA Monday Night Special In February
QuestionMan replied to QuestionMan's topic in TNA Wrestling
PWInsider said that the Detroit 3/18 Saturday Night's Main Event (not a house show, as you said) was booked back in November, way before TNA scheduled their Detroit house show. -
SpikeTV Cancels TNA Monday Night Special In February
QuestionMan replied to QuestionMan's topic in TNA Wrestling
It's likely that no official word will be given, because it was never officially announced by TNA or SpikeTV. It was only known through the IWC thanks to Dave Scherer and Dave Meltzer. -
Unless his actual name is Charles Haas, then they MIGHT have something go with. But it's still a stretch for me to confuse "Charlie Haas" with "Charlie 1 Horse".

Ultimate Warrior Files Lawsuit Against WWE
QuestionMan replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
Nope, that lawsuit was settled in 1999 or 2000 and it helped Vince buy WCW. One of the provisions of the settlement were if WCW were to ever go up for sale (which it did in fall 2000), Vince would be given the chance to match any offer put up for it. -

He's got a daughter named Indiana Warrior. -
Accusing people of being fucking stupid right after spelling "trademarks" wrong. This has gotta be one of life's greatest moments.

Ultimate Warrior Files Lawsuit Against WWE

Nope, it's just Warrior. Apparently, either the names "Warrior Warrior" or "Mister Warrior" can be used on legal documents. -
From PWInsider: World Wrestling Entertainment announced tonight that John Heidenreich, 33, had been released from the company. Several weeks back, Heidenreich checked himself into a hospital citing an ear infection. The story making the rounds is that when WWE agents came to collect Heidenreich to bring him to the next show on the loop, he turned them down saying he couldn't deal with being on the road anymore. Heidenreich flew himself home and hasn't appeared since. Among the wrestlers, the word was going around that Heidenreich was dealing with some family problems, so it may be a case of WWE releasing him to deal with what he needs to take care of and leaving the door open for a return down the line. Several workers had tried to contact Heidenreich over the last several weeks but hadn't heard back. Road Warrior Animal is slated to work singles and also team with Matt Hardy on upcoming tours. Heidenreich was signed by the WWF in 2001 and officially debuted in October 2003 on TV. He was managed for a heel run by Paul Heyman during a feud with Undertaker. He was later turned babyface and teamed with Animal as one half of the new Legion of Doom, where they won the WWE Tag Team championships.

I still wish their idea for Heidenreich to be an unfrozen Nazi would have happened.

Fit Finley Vs. William Regal 2006!
QuestionMan replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in The WWE Folder
No offense, but we really don't need another Fit Finlay thread. -
This has easily got to be the most bizarre moment in the history of TheSmartMarks.
