    Austin Walks Out Again

Ok, hold on a minute. Let's clarify: Austin didn't walk out in 2002 because he didn't want to put over Lesnar. Austin said he didn't mind putting over Lesnar at all, but he just thought it was insanely stupid to do it on a RAW with no build-up at all. He said Austin vs. Lesnar had money written all over it, and he refused to do it because it was being done in a situation where no money would be made.

    Austin Walks Out Again

Meltzer added some new details to the story. He said the main factor of Austin walking out again was the fact that the angle wasn't going to lead up to JR getting his job back.

    Austin Walks Out Again

Well, according to RAW, it's now Batista vs. Coach.

There is no replacement. The match is off.

    Christian Quits the WWE

July 2004: Fighting John Cena on PPV for the WWE Title October 2004: Fighting Brian Kendrick on Velocity. Good for Christian. WWE didn't deserve him with the way they were treating him. He was over as fuck in mid-year and was rewarded with a move to Smackdown and turned back into a low-to-mid carder. Go show 'em what's what in TNA, Mr. Reso.
  6. Edge has a partial pec tear and is out of action. We're under the impression it will not require surgery and have not been given an estimate of how long he'll be out of even if he'll try and gut through the PPV on Tuesday. His status for Taboo Tuesday is questionable. Kane, who just came back after a long storyline hiatus after being replaced by Matt Hardy in the Edge/Lita storyline, also suffered a significant back injury Monday night at Raw and is also out of action. We don't have an update from after Monday but it was feared he suffered a broken back on the superplex spot from Big Show and he was in tremendous pain the rest of the match. His status for Taboo Tuesday is also questionable, much moreso than Edge's. credit: Dave Meltzer/WO.Com

    WWE fires Brian Hebner

Referee Brian Hebner has been fired by WWE. No details have been revealed as to why he was let go. It should be noted that Brian has had some behavior issues in the past. Earl and Dave Hebner coming under hot water from WWE management back in the summer and then being subsequently fired probably didn't help matters. WWE is now Hebner-less for the first time since the 80's. Referee Chris Kay was moved from Raw to Smackdown to make up for the loss. Credit: Dave Meltzer/Wrestling Observer Newsletter

    Reminds me of Brakus.

Two Stars Suffer Serious Injuries at RAW

That reminds me of that promo Edge & Christian did at some point when they were being forced to do a tag match in either late-2004 or early-2005. It was the match where Edge attacked Christian afterwards. I think it was right after Edge healed from that groin injury. They were trading insults on one another and one of Christian's comebacks was , "You'd probably break a rib just from breathing heavy."

    WWE signs former ECW star

Yeah, deprive themself of a 5-to-6 figure income so they can continue to make peanuts on the indies. Makes sense, right?

    WWE signs former ECW star

Former ECW World Tag Team Champion Roadkill has signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. Roadkill was trained at the "House Of Hardcore", the ECW wrestling school run by Tazz and Perry Saturn, and became a cult favorite amongst ECW fans due to his Amish character and his trademark "chickens" interview line. Along with Danny Doring, Roadkill was one-half of the ECW World Tag Team Champions at the time the promotion closed. Roadkill stayed active on the Independent scene following the end of ECW, while also working fulltime in nightclub security. CREDIT: PWInsider

    Isn't that a redundancy?

    Jerry Jarrett at WWE Headquarters.

Heh, memories. I remember reading in the Observer long ago that Jerry Jarrett was waiting in the wings to take over the WWF if Vince was convicted and had to go to jail in 1994.

    Taboo Tuesday Webcast Extras

http://www.wwe.com/subscriptions/webcast/tabootuesday/ Eugene vs. Eric Bischoff WWE Taboo Tuesday 2004 October 19th, 2004 It was a family affair at the first ever Taboo Tuesday as RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff took on his nephew Eugene. The fans voted the match to be a Hair vs. Hair Match, and in the end Bischoff had to shave his trademark jet-black hair. His associate Jonathan Coachman also paid a price. Watch this match to find out what it was. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels WWE Taboo Tuesday 2004 October 19th, 2004 Triple H put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line at Taboo Tuesday, and the fans voted for Shawn Michaels to be the challenger. Michaels had seriously injured his knee the night before on RAW, but he stuck it out for the fans and gave it his all. Would HBK be able to pull off this miraculous upset? Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman vs. Edge WWE Rebellion 2002 October 26th, 2002 Edge had a shot at Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship in this United Kingdom-only pay-per-view. SmackDown General Manager Stephanie McMahon stipulated that Edge could win the Championship by pinning either Lesnar or Paul Heyman in this unique Handicap Match. Could the handicap situation actually favor Edge in this one? Goldberg vs. Sid Vicious WCW Halloween Havoc 1999 October 24th, 1999 Sid Vicious put his United States Championship on the line against Goldberg in an I Quit match. Goldberg was attacked before this match even started by the Outsiders. This one quickly turned into a bloodbath as Sid was busted wide open. Could the big man overcome his injury or would Goldberg continue his unbelievable hot streak and become the United States Champion for a 2nd time? Chris Benoit vs. Dean Malenko WCW Monday Nitro November 1st, 1999 Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko both came to WWE as members of the Radicalz and were both members of the Four Horsemen, but they've also had a few classic confrontations over the years. This Steel Cage Match from Nitro is a perfect example of why these two are widely recognized as two of the best technical wrestlers in sports-entertainment history. Razor Ramon vs. Dean Douglas WWE In Your House IV October 22nd, 1995 Dean Douglas was awarded the Intercontinental Championship by WWE President Gorilla Monsoon after Shawn Michaels was forced to vacate the Championship due to injuries. Immediately, Monsoon ordered Dean Douglas to defend his new gold against Razor Ramon, who had already wrestled previously on the show with the 1-2-3 Kid against the Smokin' Gunns. Could the "Bad Guy" become the new Champion or would Douglas get his title reign off to a sparkling start? Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, & Edge vs. Triple H, Ric Flair, & Batista WWE Monday Night RAW October 11th, 2004 Just a year ago, Ric Flair, Triple H, and Batista were one cohesive unit as Evolution. Now, Batista is the World Heavyweight Champion on SmackDown and Flair & The Game are in the midst of one of the most bitter rivalries in recent memory. Turn back the clock a bit and see them all work as a team against Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, and Edge a week before Taboo Tuesday 2004.

    Taboo Tuesday Webcast Extras

WWE.Com for the first time actually previewed the next month's 24/7 Online offering. They mentioned 3 items specifically. One of them is a dud, one of them is a very historical moment, and one of them is a classic. -- Jake "The Snake" Roberts on The Barber Shop (hosted by Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake) -- "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka on Piper's Pit (hosted by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper) -- Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair The website didn't specify if this is their match from October 1992 where Bret won the WWF Title for the first time, or if it's their Souled Out 1998 match, which was Bret's first official match in WCW.

    Eugene Breaks Character

If Matt Hardy got fired because his ex-wife was a whore, Dinsmore's not safe. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Matt and Lita were never married. And Matt was fired for being unprofessional and giving the entire world via the Internet the details on backstage matters.

If JBL isn't going to get fired for doing Nazi gestures in Germany, Dinsmore's safe.

And my love for wrestling has just died...

The worse part was Lawler acting all offended after the segment, when you can CLEARLY hear him chuckling at the beginning of it. And I loved Foley's shoot-comment-that-wasn't-meant-to-be-a-shoot-comment about how Stephanie was ruining the business he loved. Not to mention the ultimate irony of Stephanie accusing the fans of a lack of creativity. Pot, meet kettle.

    Triple H Wendy's Commercial

The theme of the commercial is "My Burger!" so they have celebrities putting their name on it. Dave Mirra also appears in the commercial and says "It's the Dave Mirra burger!" HHH is only in the 30-second spot of the commercial. He was edited out of the 15-second spot.

    New projections on ECW ONS

You never really get solid numbers until 2 years after the event. I remember a bunch of the 2002 PPVs didn't become definites until middle-2004.
  24. QuestionMan

    WWE News (Multiple Items)

Just for everyone's info, according to a WON from last year, John Cena and The Undertaker are excluded from the dress code due to the nature of their gimmicks. And good luck doing another ECW PPV, since they effectively pissed off and/or fired a bunch of their workers who were in ECW right after the first one. Imagine another ECW PPV without Sabu, The Dudleys, or Rhino. That's the half the main event and one match from the first PPV gone. And according to The Blue Meanie, WWE quit returning his phone calls and have avoided him since after the Great American Bash, so he's a tad ticked off with them too. They'd be better off not tarnishing the legacy of the original One Night Stand and just going back to Bad Blood.
