  1. The Blue Meanie confirmed a PWInsider.com Elite report from earlier this week that he is considering legal action against John Bradshaw Layfield for the assault at the ECW One Night Stand PPV. In an interview with Alex Marvez, Meanie noted that while he had been unflattering of Layfield in the past including a deposition in a lawsuit for former WCW referee Billy Silverman's, Bradshaw hugged him backstage and he thought all was fine between the two. After the incident, which left Meanie bloody, Bradshaw again confronted him backstage. ""People were between us and he started yelling about how I had talked bad about him on the Internet. I was like, `It's a work!' Look at him. The guy is 6-7 and 300-something pounds. He's a little more imposing than me." Layfield was unavailable for comment unless WWE.com had access to playing the unedited discussion on their website. Credit: Mike Johnson/PWInsider

    ECW Book

Shouldn't Paul Heyman really be the author of this?

After last night, can we finally end the myth

I'm still bitter about Booker and RVD having their careers ruined. Fuck HHH.

After last night, can we finally end the myth

Actually, Batista's been around for 3 years. He debuted in April 2002.

    Raw trade finals

Maybe Daivari came over to Smackdown in a trade that we'll be informed about tonight.

    Raw, July 16th in C-town

This is a post-show dark match, not a TV main event. I thought this was made clear in the other thread that was made about this.

WWE to respond to the pressure from ECW?

    Challenge Made To JBL

As valiant as Tracey Smothers' intents are (who wouldn't like a piece of JBL for what he did?), I echo the sentiments of the guy earlier who thought Smothers wouldn't have a chance with JBL. How old is Smothers now? Late-40s?

OAO Raw Thread (6-20-05): Angle v. Some Big Guy

I'm surprised WWE isn't mentioning the fact Cena got his first WWE victory against Jericho and that Cena pinned Jericho at Vengeance 2002.

OAO Raw Thread (6-20-05): Angle v. Some Big Guy

Actually Jim Ross, the last time the WWE Title was defended on RAW was March 22nd, 2004 when Eddie Guerrero defended the title against Triple H. Try again, Mr. Wrestling Historian.

The Draft - What is Next??

PWI says The Big Show is the next draft pick for RAW. Remember when Bischoff traded Show to Smackdown and Stephanie sent D-Von Dudley, Ivory, Maven, & Val Venis in return? Pretty high demand for someone whose last moment on RAW was getting mutilated by a chair from Tommy Dreamer.

What was your favorite moment from

Watching Eric Bischoff witness the bWo in person, and hearing Mick Foley saying while they were in the ring, "I wonder what the uninitiated are thinking right now."
  15. There's a story that Booker T dissapeared on a RAW, and Triple H was looking for him. Triple H eventually found him, put his arm around him, and said, "Where have you been?" Booker then pulled H's arm off of him, and told him "You know where I have been, I've been robbing your house while you were burying me behind my back."

Um, I never got the idea from the marketing that this would be the last ECW show ever.

One and Only "ECW: One Night Stand" Thread

One Night Stand backstage notes from PWI: John Laurinaitis, Arn Anderson, Tony Garea, Ricky Steamboat, Gerald Brisco and Dave Finley were all at the ECW PPV working in their regular role as road agents. Laurintaitis gave a short speech to the wrestlers before the show thanking them and telling them they didn't have to take any undue risks they weren't willing to take and to feel free to use the road agents for help mapping out their plans. The feeling among the locker room was that the WWE regulars used the agents while the "outside" wrestlers called their own matches, and that may have been why some of the undercard bouts featured a more WWE-esque style. Chris Jericho and Lance Storm put their match together themselves. In a break from ECW tradition, there was no pre-show speech by Paul Heyman to the crew. There were quite a few wrestlers who had hoped for more time for their matches or to have a larger role on the show due to their love for the ECW product, but were overall happy with the show and especially happy to be reunited with their friends for one night. Most of the out of town wrestlers all stayed in the same hotel in New Jersey and were chartered into New York City via bus. There was a huge contingent of fans waiting for the wrestlers to arrive as early as 9 AM this past Sunday morning. We've gotten a few questions asking about the choice of wrestlers that were shown in the tribute video on ECW One Night Stand. As it was explained to me, they specifically went with those who had passed away after Extreme Championship Wrestling had closed, as opposed to those who had already been honored during the time of their deaths, such as Rick Rude, Eddie Gilbert, and Brian Pillman. Former ECW stars The Musketeer and Tony DeVito were backstage at One Night Stand. Super Crazy, Kid Kash, and Psicosis all worked yesterday's Raw taping in Binghamton, New York for dark matches or Sunday Night Heat. We don't have much else in the way of details yet. Crazy and Psicosis are signed to WWE deals.

One and Only "ECW: One Night Stand" Thread

From PWI: Patrick sent word that WWE has put up a site for ECW at ECW.com. I know that for a long time, the name was owned by a trucking company and they had no interest in selling the domain, back in the day, which is why the old company website was ECWwrestling.com. That domain is still owned by Joey Styles. Considering they just purchased the ECW domain, I have a feeling this isn't the end of ECW.

Bombshell from Mike Johnson of PWI Elite Audio: -- Preliminary buyrates have ECW One Night Stand pulling 800,000 buys, which would mean it would have outdrawn WrestleMania 19. Unbelievable.

One and Only "ECW: One Night Stand" Thread

I will crucify Eddie for his one bad performance if it was intentional. No one here is dogging (and if they are, they have no right to) Rey Jr. because he was injured and still tried, but Eddie deserves to be shit on for not trying at all. There's absolutely no excuse for that. It completely goes against what Paul Heyman said ECW stood for. "Despite sometimes someone having their own agenda, in the end they did what was best for ECW." Eddie Guerrero didn't do what was best for ECW; he didn't give a shit about ECW or Chris Benoit, which is doubly disrespectful. So even if it was a one time thing, fuck him. And for justifying his performance because the 4,000 people in the crowd weren't paying attention to him is bullshit, because there was a lot more than 4,000 people in their living rooms, at their favorite bars, at friends hang out spots, etc. who were not paying attention to Edge and wanted to see a Benoit/Guerrero classic, but got screwed over because Eddie was a sore bitch about jobbing. I would have rather seen Guerrero walk out and then have someone who actually gave a shit about the fans wrestle Benoit, such as Al Snow in a rematch from Double Tables. I guess Eddie Guerrero was having a one night stand of his own when it comes to cheating on his usual professional attitude.

More from PWInsider Elite: -- Here's the story on the bleeped cursing. The original plan was for everything to be uncensored. Since One Night Stand took Bad Blood's original spot in the schedule, the PPV was automatically tagged with a TV14. They tried at the last minute to get it changed to a TVMA to allow uncensored cursing, but were unsuccessful in their attempts. It is almost certain that the cursing will be uncensored for the DVD release, set for June 28th, and will probably be a marketing selling point for the DVD.
