WWE General Discussion - September 2008
QuestionMan replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Brooke Hogan was on Howard Stern this morning. At the end of her segment, she said that Bubba the Love Sponge was the only one of her father's friends that hadn't made a pass at her at some point. When Howard asked if the Macho Man had ever hit on her, she implied that he did and said it was really awkward because he used to babysit her. -
Jeff Hardy Strikes Out for the Final Time?
QuestionMan replied to zappafrank's topic in The WWE Folder
It's all going to depend on what he was fucked up on. If it was alcohol, they can deal with that. But if it was drug related, he's outta here. -

Dr. Black WAS NOT Chris Benoit's doctor. That was Dr. Phil Astin III. Dr. Black is the doctor that conducts the drug tests. -
Jeff Hardy Strikes Out for the Final Time?
QuestionMan replied to zappafrank's topic in The WWE Folder
A WWE representative has officially commented: "WWE has been informed of an alleged incident involving Jeff Hardy. We are currently investigating the situation and will take appropriate actions if needed.” -

It seems PWInsider once again disabled that AdBlocker...blocker. They do four tests a year for marijuana and if it shows up, you pay a $500 fine but no strikes go on you. Meltz said a lot of the people asked "Who do I make out the $2,000 check to?" when they were told this. -
I always wish Heenan had never left the WWF. Heenan doing Raw during the Attitude Era would have made that era even better. It's a shame Monsoon got sick, because they could have gone on forever and never gotten old. Monsoon & Heenan were so far ahead of their time. Can you imagine them as they are in 1992 in WWF 1998?
-
How creepy was that obvious voiceover Fink did for the introduction of the Orient Express?
-
I also enjoyed how Heenan started kissing Piper's ass when he went after Roberts, who was attacking Flair. And then Piper went back to Flair and Heenan lost it again. Also, hearing Mr. Perfect trying to do a "whoo!" was painful everytime.
-
He yells out "DAMN IT!"

I want the ratings to nosedive so hard. I want it to go back to 1996 levels, where it got so low McMahon flipped out and let Vince Russo book the entire promotion. Stephanie is a horrible booker and I want things while she is in charge to fail very badly.

I like how Orton called Gene out on his old man dirtiness.

Jake the Snake back to his old antics
QuestionMan replied to goldengreek's topic in General Wrestling
Some people are speculating that Jake relapsed because he spoke about his childhood issues during the radio show he did earlier in the morning. -
Wow, Evan Bourne needs to stay away from a microphone.
-
I laughed my ass off when Virgil came in and Heenan says, "He doesn't even have a last name!"

He was booked because he went through a Vince-paid rehab and had been sober for a good bit. Some people said he was on a local radio station earlier in the day and sounded completely normal. I wonder what went on to make him relapse like that. -

I enjoyed the Double Jeopardy match ECW did at November to Remember 2000 for the ECW Title where two matches were going on at the same time and the winners immediately start fighting. -
Pillman had three children from a previous marriage and two adopted children that were Melanie's. Melanie was pregnant with their first child together when he died.
-
The story behind Harry Smith being out there to fend off the ECW guys is hilarious. There were some rumblings that Paul Heyman & Tommy Dreamer wanted Smith for the new ECW brand. Brian Gewirtz got wind of this, and since he hated Heyman so much, he made sure that Smith (who worked a dark match earlier) was out there to run off the ECW guys. Such maturity.

Yeah, but how do you explain Primo going on TV and saying his brother was a jerk who he wanted to have nothing to do with? Now he's suddenly teaming with him like there was never a problem? That is 100% bad television and lazy writing. There's no other way to slice it.

The "Vent about not having Program X on 24/7" Thread
QuestionMan replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in WWE Multimedia
No Series '92 for me either. -
Vince's bright idea of making the fans follow a dress code because he thought them being dressed up would keep them from being rowdy failed miserably. I personally hate the Hall of Fame shows have been done in front of live crowds lately. I wish it was like it was in 2004, where it was just all the people from the company and selected guests in a ballroom type setting. It was all nice, quiet, and orderly.

What happened to Carlito's cornrow/goatee look?
-
I forgot how fucking hot Kimberly Page was back then. Wow.
-
I will always believe Owen Hart should have won the WWF Title from Bret Hart at SummerSlam 1994. He was the hottest heel in the company, especially after he turned Jim Neidhart against Bret, and people would have paid money to see anyone destroy him for the title. A 3-month reign would have been better for Owen than a 3-day reign for Bob Backlund.

Remember when the WWF tried to bring in a bunch of Mexican talent in early 1997? Yikes.
