WWE General Discussion - February 2008
QuestionMan replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
The Rock already said he'd never, ever work with Shawn Michaels. He's never wrestling another match again, but if he did, Shawn Michaels would be nowhere on the list. -

No one bitched when Taz got pinned in 30 seconds by Masato Tanaka and Mike Awesome after 9 months as ECW Champion. -

Former WWF and UFC star Dan Severn was recently on the Club World Wrestling Insanity Radio Show and told an interesting story about a proposed gimmick for him during his time in the WWF in 1998-1999. -

Why? It's a good barometer of who the fans are (and are not) willing to pay to see. -

If you want to be picky, Flair actually lost a "Loser Leaves Town" match against Hennig, so it wasn't really a retirement match. However, his cage match with Hulk Hogan at Halloween Havoc 1994 was indeed a retirement match. -
As mentioned in general discussion, PWI is reporting today that Shawn Michaels is currently scheduled to be Ric Flair's WrestleMania 24 opponent for what would be Flair's final match.

"Never been pinned or given up" doesn't roll off the tongue like "undefeated". It reminds me of when Muhammad Hassan messed up that finish against Chris Benoit and had to be DQed, and J.R. had to sell Hassan as having "never been pinned or made to give up" and it always sounded awkward. -

Cena said on Raw he didn't want to wait until WM24 to use his title shot, so the title match is at No Way Out. -

That's pretty awesome how people are mindlessly discussing Smackdown spoilers in this thread. -

I think it would be Hayes, but that might relate back to 2006, when Hayes and Lashley had heat with each other. Hayes apparently wanted nothing do with him on Smackdown. Hayes' problem with Lashley wasn't racial. He just thought he sucked, wasn't special, and had absolutely zero potential. I'm sure if Hayes was a racist, he wouldn't have bothered to get his ass kicked by MVP in that segment. -

Former TNA star since the company's inception in June 2002, Chris Harris, announced just minutes ago on his website that he has officially signed with WWE. -- Meltz I'm assuming he's going straight to the main roster and not doing OVW/FCW. -

Nope. Mae Young said that herself on a radio show. That's where that came from. -

Alvarez didn't say it was a fake storyline. It was a fake bit of news. -

Happy birthday to World Tag Team Champion Bob Holly, who turns 45 today. ============= Yes it was Lagana. He used to go to a lot of the ECW Arena shows. He somehow fell into TV writing and got involved with Friends. WWE hired him in 2002 based on his writing background and wrestling knowledge. He was tight with Paul Heyman until he realized you get put in the doghouse if you are tight with Heyman. -
Cody Rhodes ending Ric Flair's career would probably make me stop watching forever. Cody Rhodes is more fucking bland and boring than french fries without salt. His career will go nowhere and only gets the opportunities he's getting because he's Duthty's Rhodths THUN, IF YOU WEE-UL.

Jeff Hardy got a bigger pop than John Cena or Triple H.

I thought it was hilarious when they said Finlay was DQ'ed for using the Shilaleigh (sp?) when in all the Rumble hype clips, they showed Austin beating the shit out of Kane with a chair in the '01 Rumble. Also in the '01 Rumble, there were weapons all over the ring at one point. And on a side note, can anyone believe that Jimmy Snuka (64) is only 6 years older than Ric Flair (58)? Snuka looks and moves like he's 80.
-
It'll probably be Big Show.
-
He was definitely injured, but they said he healed really quickly and was way ahead of schedule on his rehab. He recieved a clean bill of health earlier this week.
-
Yeah, Holly stomped his face. HBK immediately put his hands on it and turned over.

Is anyone else's feed stuttering really bad? Mine keeps' skipping every 6-7 seconds.

Flair vs. Vince at WM would be the worst thing that could ever be done and a horrible last match for Flair.
