There is a lot of uncertaintly regarding who will walk out of the Royal Rumble with the WWE Title. As of right now, a decision hasn't been made because everyone is split down the middle. It's much like two years ago when deciding whether to keep the title on Edge since the ratings dramatically spiked after he won the title or put it back on Cena. The pro-Hardy people are saying that Hardy is too hot right now to not capitalize. If they have him lose to Orton tonight, they are afraid that the fans wouldn't get behind Hardy at the level he's at now, even if he does eventually win the title down the road. They are also pointing to two years ago as killing Edge's ratings momentum as there were no increases when he won the belt back later in the year. The pro-Orton people are saying that the title already changed too much in fall '07 and don't want to add anymore chaos to the lineage. They also aren't positive about the fans to stay as hot for Hardy as champ as they are for Hardy chasing the champ. This likely will be a decision that comes down to Vince and probably won't be made until a few minutes before the show goes on the air, much like the decision for Cena to win it back from Edge two years ago was.

PWI is reporting that Dusty Rhodes will take over as head writer for ECW.

In response to members of his forum doubting that he was the one who actually posted those comments about wanting to leave WWE, he offered to personally call skeptical members and talk to them directly to prove it was indeed him. Several members confirmed that Lashley did call them after leaving their phone numbers.

Lashley requested to be moved to Raw or ECW because Michael Hayes, the lead writer of Smackdown, thought he sucked and had no potential, so he booked him with Tatanka. Hayes was right. Lashley won't be missed here.

Also, Wade Keller is reporting that Big Show was backstage at Raw, but was not used on the show because he is recovering from an ankle injury. I'm guessing they had originally planned for him to be Regal's third man against HHH, but decided to let his injury heal before bringing him back. There were no reports on his alledged weight loss.

What the fuck is he talking about? The show before the PPV was in Beaumont, TX. They were nowhere near Canada.

As part of the promotion of this weekend's Royal Rumble in New York City, former World Heavyweight Champion Batista was interviewed by Time Out New York magazine. In it, he told a funny story about his 15-year old daughter and a potential boyfriend that she brought over to the house. They were playing a game of pool while Batista spectated the game. During the game, Batista picked up a pool cue and jokingly threatened to beat the boy with it. The boy proceeded to burst into tears in fright, but they calmed him down and explained he was only messing around.

The only noticeable problem I had on 4:3 was when Kennedy and HBK were jockeying for position on the turnbuckle, HBK was completely cut out of the picture.

Rumble qualifying matches on house shows exist. Actually, I'm glad they're finally putting emphasis back on house shows since, you know, people actually pay money to attend the events. I still enjoy when they toss in the rare title switch just to keep things interesting. I remember Edge having a short IC reign prior to Summerslam 1998, then losing the belt back to whoever was champion before at the actual PPV. I believe it was Jarrett. Christian beating Booker T for the IC belt at a houseshow in 2003 was interesting as well. Well, Christian only won the title because Booker got injured in the match, and they changed the finish mid-match.

The latest WWE magazine sent out to subscribers contains a potential Royal Rumble spoiler for the Hardy/Orton match. Jeff Hardy is on the cover and the main feature is an interview with him. Inside the magazine, there is a picture of him underwater bound by chains, but it is clear that the background of the picture is the inside of the elimination chamber.

My bass pedal also broke under completely normal use. I got a new one a few days ago. It was different from the old pedal. There were more reinforcements and the spring was closer to the heel.

Tommy Dreamer did an article for WWE.Com asking who he pissed off in WWE. He said he's been thinking about this ever since a fan came up to him in an airport and asked why he's never on ECW's TV show anymore. He challenged the company to do a Rocky-type storyline with him centered around Dreamer's last chance at glory in ECW. Not sure how long this article will stay on the website.

Am I the only one that did not enjoy Big Show's initial ring attire of nothing but short trunks and boots with no knee pads?
