WWE RELEASES 9 MORE Some people noticed around 6:30pm EST on WWE.Com that Tatanka & Mike Knox were listed as the part of the released, then suddenly removed. Tatanka was added back on to the page Friday and remained, officially signifying his release. After appearing for a one-night-only deal when the company asked him to appear for Eugene's Hometown Hero Invitational in August 2005, despite being somewhat out of shape, Tatanka made a good impression on everyone backstage with his work. He was signed to a contract and given 4 months to get back in shape. He began working Raw house shows in December 2005, made his full-time return during the 2006 Royal Rumble, and was assigned to Smackdown. He was working as a heel and feuding with Jimmy Wang Yang at the time of his release. Knox could be next, but has not been announced officially yet. Nobody in WWE likes him due to his association with Paul Heyman, and is referred to only as "Heyman's boy". Bill DeMott, the head trainer for the Deep South Wrestling developmental group in McDonough, GA, has been released as well. DeMott made his debut in the United States in 1995 with WCW, under the name "Hugh Morrus". After being a career low-carder, he was finally pushed in 2000 under the booking of Vince Russo as "General Hugh G. Rection," the leader of the Misfits in Action, a group of wrestlers who got together because of their feelings of being held back in WCW. Under the General Rection moniker, he won the WCW United States Championship twice and recieved a built-up title match against WCW Champion Scott Steiner on Nitro. He was one of the 24 contracts picked up by WWE when they purchased WCW. After the brand extension, he was assigned to Smackdown and was planned to be used in a tag team with Perry Saturn in an Eliminators-type team. Saturn went down with injuries and was fired from the company for refusing to go on a WWA tour. He was a trainer on MTV's Tough Enough 3, along with Al Snow & Ivory. After TE3, WWE attempted an entire gimmick overhaul, giving him an unstoppable beast gimmick and having him go by his real name. A feud with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was in the plans until DeMott seriously injured his back, and eventually retired. He became a commentator for Velocity, before being assigned as head trainer for Deep South Wrestling. 7 talents were released from their WWE developmental deals on Friday as well. Seth Skyfire, Jack Bull, and Ryan Reeves were released from OVW. In Deep South, Micah Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Tony Santarelli, and Tommy Suede got the axe.

According to the latest Observer, Paul Heyman is basically being paid by WWE to sit at home on his ass to keep him away from TNA. Also, just to clarify: Marty Jannetty, Brad Armstrong, Rodney Mack, & Eric Perez were signed in fall '06 to help mentor the younger talents on the WWECW brand. Jannetty ended up being fired about two weeks later when he no-showed an WWECW show, but has since gotten delusional and swears he's under contract and didn't get fired.

Roadkill & K.C. James were set to debut as a tag team any minute on Smackdown until Vince McMahon decided to whore out ECW. That threw a lot of things out of wack, and Roadkill was sent to WWECW. But now K.C. James & Idol Stevens are a team on Smackdown, so who the fuck knows.

Samoa Joe is said to be extremely unhappy over the way his feud with Kurt Angle has been booked by TNA head booker, Vince Russo. He's being public about it as well. Joe recently did an interview at a show he was scheduled to work, but couldn't due to his knee injury. He said, "Sorry for not being able to wrestle. On the way here I tripped over some bad booking."

Heh, husband & wife (Mack & Jazz) fired from WWE again. Jazz never made another WWECW appearance after the WWE vs. ECW show against Mickie James, right?

WWE Hall of Famer The Iron Shiek suffered alcohol poisoning during a recent trip to Boston where he was doing some video interviews. He seems to be fine now though. ========== After a backstage battle between Vince McMahon and ECW head writer Dan Lagana over what Monty Brown should be called, Vince's "Marquis Cor Von" won out since, ultimately, it comes down to him. One of Vince's reasonings for the name change was that he didn't want anyone to Google the name "Monty Brown" and discover TNA.

I think I remember reading where Styles was also yelling "faggot" at people during Vince Russo's Ring of Glory shows.

On the most recent Legends Roundtable on WWE 24/7, Michael Hayes was telling a story about the first time The Fabulous Freebirds came out to entrance music. Hayes said we came out to "Freebird" and Jim Ross, being the good host that he is, said "Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird". Hayes said, "Why do you keep correcting me?" and Ross responded that not everyone knows who Skynrd is. Dusty Rhodes jumped in and said, "Who doesn't know Skynrd?" Ross responded, "Anyone born after the 1980s." Dusty responded, "Oh, you mean the writing team."

For those wondering, those pictures were taken during their Halloween show. They don't do that for every show. As far as the band, it's a lot better than you'd think with Lita singing.

Harley Race said that CM Punk was the next big superstar in the business. But what does he know, right?

Smackdown's Sylvan Grenier was arrested yesterday afternoon on his way to the Smackdown/ECW tapings in Peoria, Illinois. He was clocked by a cop going 41mph over the speed limit and was arrested. He was going 96mph in a 55 zone. Someone from the company went up to the police station and paid the $200 bond in order to get him to the show. He ended up not being used. -- WO

Didn't Shannon Moore beat A.J. Styles in an early-2006 TNA PPV?
-
Well, lazy ass Nash came back from a torn quad at age 43. If Nash can do it, HHH surely can.
-
Chris Jericho probably got in a chuckle as well.
-
How many bowls is RVD smoking tonight in celebration?
-
Excuse me? Kurt Angle tears his quad getting out of bed in the morning, and he's just fine!

Your timeline is way off. Al Snow returned to the WWF with Head in June 1998, a month after his final ECW show at Wrestlepalooza. Nowhere close to 2000.
-
I'm starting to think WWE hires Marty Jannetty just so they can run backstage pools on when he'll get fired.
-
Didn't they agree at one point to have Bret stay a few days past his 11/30/97 contract expiration and drop the belt at the December IYH (12/7) in a 4-Way against HBK, Vader, & Shamrock?
-
Maybe it's just that they think Jim Ross will get confused. How many times did he call Chris Benoit "Chris Jericho" and vice-versa? HHH on guest commentary happened to be there once when it happened and had quite the classic response. He's managed to make an ass out of himself by confusing people who don't have similar names at all. In the 2005 Royal Rumble, he confused Charlie Haas and Rene Dupree the entire match and never caught on. He even screamed "AU REVOIR!" when Haas was eliminated.

ECW head booker Dan Lagana wants Gene Snitsky moved over from Raw to the ECW brand. In recent road agent meetings, agents Finlay & Arn Anderson have been pushing hard for Snitsky to have a bigger role. The problem is though that management feels ECW is becoming too much of a island of misfit Raw & Smackdown toys, and adding Snitsky would do nothing to decrease that image. Snitsky has been barely used since his tag team with Goldust was ended when Goldust was fired in June '06. ========= An idiot fan decided it would be a good idea to throw a rock at Randy Orton's rental car as he was leaving the arena after the event ended. Randy got out of the car and started yelling obscene stuff at the fan who threw it, telling him to "Fuck off" etc. A father with a small child near the situation told him to watch his language and that "he paid for tickets and also Orton's salary" to which Orton replied something along the lines of "I'll take you any day, pal" and left.

WWE must think their fans are really fucking retarded if they think they'll see Benoit use the Crossface and say "OMG BENOIT'S DOING THE STFU".
-
There's too much shit surrounded the good stuff for it to be worth watching the good stuff. It's like taking the best chocolate chip cookie ever, but then sandwiching it between two squares of shit.
-
WWE is far from good wrestling.

I know, I felt so dirty typing it.
