Seems like a natural pair to me.

Well, since they've already sold more than half the capacity for it, why bother? WM always seems to do big biz regardless.

WON TNA News and Notes - November 13th

I can't believe Bob Sapp isn't already a huge US pro-wrestling star. The guy is a frigging monster with charisma. TNA should definitely sign him if at all possible. -
Classic WCW Nitro, Thunder, & Saturday Night...

Thanks for the upload, though I don't think I've ever gone through so many junk mail offers to see something. I had forgotten what a shitty announcer Bischoff was, even Tony was better than that. Bischoff's main function as an announcer seemed to be to constantly poke fun of WWF and announce RAW spoilers. Coupled with the awful Steve McMichael and a declining Bobby Heenan, it was a pretty bad announce team, but all the hot matches and angles made up for their suckitude. -
My advice: When they call, immediately say "This is a rental property, remove this number from your list immediately." Otherwise, get caller ID. You can pretty quickly recognize when some bullshit number is calling.

WON TNA News and Notes - November 13th

While no one is saying WWE is going to fall to TNA anytime soon, stuff like that really draws comparisons between current WWE and post-'98 WCW. -
Let's end that. That's up to TNA, not us. If Angle is booked as being completely superior to every TNA guy, it won't matter.

It's not a matter of being on one side or the other. Saddam can still be punished (and he will be), but at this point the President is going to have to change strategy in Iraq or face being completely politically impotent for his final two years in office.
-
Disappointing. I don't see anyone out there right now I'd rather vote for at this point.

Wow, that would be amazing.

I would prefer this finish or, failing that, Joe losing by DQ when he snaps and refuses to let go of the choke. Joe losing cleanly would further establish the idea that TNA wrestlers are inferior to WWE wrestlers, even if it is a top name like Angle. Joe winning, even if it is a close call, at least establishes right off the bat that TNA's top wrestler is better than one of WWE's top wrestlers. Angle doesn't need to win right away, but Joe does and TNA needs Joe to win right away. Angle is established to the mainstream already. Joe isn't and neither is TNA, and Joe winning would be a big boost. If Joe loses by DQ for not letting go of the choke, they still push the idea that Joe choked out Kurt Angle. They could also push Joe as this monster who endangered the life of the guy TNA are hoping to help take them to the next level. This could get Joe over big as a heel and further cement Angle as a babyface, which can the play into their rematch down the line with Angle going for revenge against the man who tried to end his career. Angle's not a WWE wrestler anymore. You know damn well what he meant. Angle is perceived as a "WWE guy."

Waitaminute, I thought Ronnie killed communism and defeated the Soviet Union by outspending them. Which is it? I guess whichever's more convenient for making the Dems look like limpwristed terrorist lovers.

I like the look. The castle and fog look cool, and the logo looks fine to me. Only annoying part is the huge plug at the top.

Uh oh. Looks like Feingold may have some skeletons in his closet. He's gonna have to prove that that LeSabre wasn't a lobbyist gift, and prove it fast... Being that he's from Janesville, which basically exists due to a GM plant, he'd better own at least one GM vehicle.

WCW Saturday Night was to me, the perfect wrestling show. Sure, after about '96 they didn't have any big matches anymore, but you never really knew who was going to be wrestling. Out of the blue, it might be some jobber who you remembered from the WWF, etc. Plus, it was on at 5PM here (CST), so it was on in the evening, but not too late.

I'm pretty sure Bill Clinton spent it all, according to Rush.

"You see, uh...the Iraqi people...are free. They've longed for freedom, and now they have it. So...now that the Iraqi people are free...our job is done...and our troops can come home. It's that simple.

I could see Angle willingly jobbing to Joe, if all he says is true about wanting to help TNA get built up, etc. Maybe Joe wins, but barely. Joe beating Angle would cement him as a true superstar in pro-wrestling, and then Angle can always get a win back in a re-match. I mean, this is a matchup they could potentially run on one or two more PPVs and keep it fresh.

I think Russ Feingold's chances are improving. He can say "I didn't vote for this war, and now that the American people have exerted their will, we're finally getting out", etc.

Francine Fournier announces her retirement from pro wrestling

Yeah, because that's why people go to strip clubs, to talk. -
Dumb question: Is just this episode two hours long, or is the show going to be two hours from now on?

I didn't see the McCain segment in question, but I tend to doubt he was saying it with a straight face. Well the thing is, I am not dense enough to think McCain was being serious, but at the same time I am sure Alec Baldwin was exaggerating too, but it was blathered on about non-stop on conservative talk shows. I think the main difference is that Baldwin is a "Hollywood liberal" and hated by conservative pundits, whereas John McCain is generally respected by people on both sides of the political spectrum.

Anyone else think they're overdoing it a little bit with Flair and his fellow "legends?" I mean, having them show up once in a while is fine, but to have four of them wrestling together on one team on a PPV is a little bit of overkill. Seeing Hacksaw wrestle isn't a thrill since he's been teaming with Eugene for about the last six months, and Sarge wrestles every once in a while on RAW. Oh well...at least the match should be short, and hopefully will lead to the full breakup of the Spirit Squad.
