Yeah, nice work. You're just feeding "her".

It smells like the rest of Illinois to me.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

Well . . . I found the Renegade theme to be catchy. And you can almost never get enough of Jim Powers. Renegade actually used the same music as Marc Mero did in WWF (not his first run as "The Wildman", the one where he came back as a boxer/wrestler and used a modified diamond cutter finisher). -
John Kerry screws up saying anti-Bush punchline
Dobbs 3K replied to SuperJerk's topic in Current Events
I think the GOP is desperately hoping that this issue with John Kerry will distract voters until the election, which is why all the elephant riding pundits are playing it up, but I think they're sorely mistaken. -
To be fair, I think Tracy Brooks is one of the better female managers out there. However, it's hard to take Roode's search seriously when the last guy Brooks was managing was "Maverick Matt", who was basically a jobber. At least make up an excuse like "Brooks used her feminine wiles to get Roode to hire her" or something, but I don't even think they've even tried to explain it at this point.

Doesn't sound bad to me...it would keep all the "progressives" in one place.

I agree 100%. Even if Clinton had said things people didn't necessarily agree with, at least he actually stated what his plans and ideas were. Kerry wouldn't say what his plans were, or gave vague answers like "Visit my website." Just a completely feeble campaign, and much worse than Gore's in 2000.

The James Gang's appearance was kind of interesting...I don't know where they'll go with it, though. Kind of hard to have them feud with two guys who are in WWE.
-
I guess I'll be interested if they honestly talk about the mistakes the AWA made. I don't want to hear fifteen different people say "Vern was a great guy, and he quit at the right time", I want to hear "The AWA couldn't adapt, and they had problems X, Y, and Z", etc. They should talk about the downfall at the end, the stupid gimmick tournament, etc.
-
The problem with WCW at that time, though, was that they were bringing up all these young guys all at once, and thrusting them right into the midcard, and title reigns, etc. I personally found it tough to keep track of all these new guys they had at one time, none of whom were established yet.

I think Clinton would've beaten George W. Bush in the proposed re-election scenario. He would've outdebated and outspoken his way back into the White House.

Man, are they ever going to let Michael have any happiness on this show? Although it did mean something when his sorta giflfriend (I forget her name, but she was dressed as a cheerleader), mentioned this was their "9th date". Just seems like he never gets to be happy, but hopefully they'll let him get somewhere eventually.

I'd end the brand split since it's basically "in name only" at this point. I mean, you have each show's champion appearing on the other two shows almost on a weekly basis at this point...Big Show was wrestling RAW and Smackdown guys for like a month straight. Just have Vince McMahon come out and say "we're merging all three rosters, and everyone can wrestle anywhere they want" and be done with it. I'd get rid of the GMs/Executive Assistants, or have a "WWE Championship Commitee" that occasionally makes matches or decides who gets title shots when needed. You could still give each show a unique flavor by doing the following: - All ECW matches would again be under extreme rules. If someone like Misterio wants to wrestle an ECW match against, say, Sabu, he knows he's going to have to deal with tables and chairs, etc. - Smackdown would have very strict "wrestling" rules. DQs are strictly enforced, maybe even make a rule where titles can change hands by countout or DQ. Guys would get DQed for excessive punching or choking, etc. Make the US Title a pseudo "TV Title" and have it defended with a strict TV time limit each and every week. - RAW would kind of be the "in between" brand...loosely enforced rules, but not as extreme as ECW. Build up the IC Title as the belt that's used as a stepping stone to a world title shot. Certain titles would still stay exclusive to each brand (I'd keep all three World belts for the time being). I'd probably merge the tag titles again, but keep the Cruiserweight title Smackdown exclusive. Maybe give RAW the tag division to balance things out. I'd probably mothball the Women's title, since there are few actual female wrestlers in WWE, and just strippers who can't even put on a coherent match for the main part. Each show would also retain specific gimmick matches. Maybe RAW has the elimination chamber and Smackdown gets Hell in the Cell, while maybe ECW could have barbed wire matches. Each show should basically have one ultimate gimmick match for settling big feuds. Also, each show could have a gimmick tournament once a year...maybe RAW has Survivor Series (bring back the final "survivor battle royal" that they used one year, with the winner getting a title shot), Smackdown has KotR, and ECW could have a "Lethal Lottery" type thing. Just different things to keep each show from being completely the same, which is kind of the trap they're falling into right now.

Yeah, Eddie was definitely given a push and World title reign based on overall crowd reaction and marketability. Benoit's reign was more of a "respect" type thing.

I enjoyed most of last night's show...I didn't read the spoilers, so I was really surprised at AJ Styles winning the X Title again...don't know if it's a good move or not, though. I'm tempted to order the upcoming PPV for Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle. Ending of the show was weird...what's the deal with Kazarian and "Maverick Matt"? Don't they already have Cassidy Riley doing that gimmick, or is he gone now?

CM Punk is WWE's Samoa Joe right now (the guy everyone knows can be a main eventer, and everyone's praying the bookers don't fuck it up).

Berlyn would have gotten over fine if they hadn't pulled the plug on it right away, then brought it back all watered down. -
Are people really that excited about the AWA DVD? Most of the AWA matches I can recall seeing have been pretty awful. Classic 60s/70s plodding wrestling.

Yeah, I heard he likes it better and Germany, and I think he still wrestles over there. -
Dole's other problem was that the economy was pretty good going into that election. It's hard for voters to think "Well, I'm doing pretty well right now with the ol' pocketbook, but this guy says he can do better for us."
-
Russo also basically tried to make WCW into an imitation of WWF at the time (Booker T = Rock, Kronik = APA, etc)...when if people wanted that, they could just flip the channel to RAW, which is what most people did. If Russo tries to do the same with TNA, it's going to bomb badly, once again.

See, that makes a little more sense than for him to be attacking the troops. -
Wrong. Look it up.

Seeing Mr. Garrison's "breasts" was really gross and unnecessary, but other than that it was an amusing episode.

Take that online political quiz. I'm too lazy to look it up...it said I'm Republican, which isn't 100% true, but whatever.
