  1. Well, people were crapping all over the idea of Show vs Flair last week, and that ended up being pretty entertaining, so maybe this match will surprise as well. The problem ECW is having is that RVD is gone, and Kurt Angle is injured again, so Show really doesn't have any major challengers right now. Hence, ECW has to borrow guys from the other "brands" to wrestle.

    OAO Raw - 7/17

Yeah, the angle development has been _very_ slow lately. I mean, why do we have to sit through Shawn vs Shane, when DX has totally destroyed the McMahons and the Spirit Squad...week after week, after week now? This feud needs to transition to DX vs any other two guys, with the McMahons playing a very small supporting role. At least the Highlanders are getting some character development, and seemingly starting a feud with Spirit Squad. Of course, shows how weak the tag team division is when a new team with two squash wins over jobber tandems is being set up to be the next tag title challengers.

Full audio of the new Killers single...

Sue me, I like it. Definitely did catch some Springsteen vibe with some of the phrases, but I like Springsteen, and enjoyed the Killers' first album, so this sounds perfectly good to me. Also, I've heard the "this is what teenagers listen to driving to Denny's at night" comments before, but I don't see it. Their music, to me, doesn't sound like teeny bopper music.
  4. No, not really, why?

    Fucking petty ass neighbors.

It seems dubious to me that your family didn't find out about the local housing covenant until after they moved in. That's usually something your realtor would tell you about, and would be mentioned before closing, etc. That said, I think such tracts are pretty much a socialist invention, and I would never move into a neighborhood where one is necessary. I shouldn't need permission from the neighbors to, say, put up a TV antenna of reasonable size, or build a tool shed, or paint my house a different color, etc.

How do you feel about Iraq?

C-Bacon, I don't like you either. You don't say? I thought for sure I'd been accepted into your good graces after that post *sigh* The point I was making was that it's not for the US to decide such things. Yes, you said that repeatedly, and it's also been stated that the Iraqi government hasn't asked the US to leave, either. So what's your point?

President Bush caught on tape swearing about Syria

Yeah, I exagerrated a little, though. The actual quote is below: "My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes." - Ronald Reagan, during a microphone check, unaware that he was being broadcast. (August 11, 1984)

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

2 trillion dollars over 30 years is a drop in the bucket, considering the overall US budget, and economy. Also, trying to get this down to simply an economic argument is simplistic at best, not taking into account the broader picture. Look at how much money the US spends on oil every year, and what has that gotten us? I'm guessing our country has given the Arab world more than 2 trillion dollars in 30 years! Much, much, more, in all likelihood. It's clear that the greatest enemy we have in 2006 is radical Islamic terrorism, and their main target is Israel, with the US being a secondary target. Therefore, we must work with and protect them, to help them defeat the enemy barbarians.

President Bush caught on tape swearing about Syria

Funny, but not quite as good as Reagan telling them to "bomb the bastards" or whatever it was.

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

Well, frankly, it's Hezbollah that is responsible, not Lebanon, so I don't know why Lebanon would be making any demands, other than for Israel to stop their current military actions. Lebanon's government should be moving to stop Hezbollah as well. However, it seems like Lebanon is paralyzed to take action, and becoming more clear that Syria and Iran have tremendous influence in this. Hey, where's that UN thing that was set up to mediate stuff like this?

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert has laid out demands to be met, before an Israeli withdrawal of military operations from Lebanon. They seem reasonable to me: [couldn't get link to work, so to summarize]: - The two kidnapped Israeli soldiers must be freed. - Rocket attacks against Israel stop. - The Lebanese army must deploy along their southern border. Really, is that asking so much at this point? Story is on Yahoo's front page news section, if you want to read further.

How do you feel about Iraq?

It has yet to be proven the majority of the Iraqi people want us to leave right away. We should leave when their government asks us to leave, which has yet to happen. Exactly. If the US were to leave right now, the entire nation of Iraq would become completely destabilized, and become like Afghanistan was in 2001.

    The Old School questions thread

According to Wikipedia (I know, not always reliable), Jacques pinned Hogan at the Bell Centre, which was formerly the Molson Center, in Montreal. I remember reading about that card after the fact, and it was rather controversial because WCW took the approach of trying to cater to the Montreal crowd by booking a lot of Canadian talent on the show, rather than using all the top stars of WCW. Actually, here is the whole show, from DDT Digest: These results from the Molson Centre are reprinted from the September, 1997 issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated. * Nelson Veilleux defeated Sunny War Cloud * The Prisoners defeated Jacques Compois & Richard Charland * Tiger Jackson defeated Little Broten in a midget match * Jeff Jarrett defeated Chris Jericho * Harlem Heat defeated The Faces Of Fear * Lex Luger was declared the winner of his match with Steve "Mongo" McMichael when Ric Flair interfered and submitted when Luger put him in his "torture rack" * Karl Oulette defeated The Giant by disqualification with The Giant hit the referee * Jacques Rougeau pinned World Champion Hulk Hogan in a non-title match.
  14. Art Bell once played an interesting phone call, supposedly from a guy flying his plane into Area 51, before being shot down. I love how some people can say matter of factly what the government does or does not have at Area 51, like they have been there or something.

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

    Um...drugs, maybe?
  16. Um, no (not that I think that the government did either of those). Sometimes you make my head want to explode. Good!

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

Exactly. All this talk of a "diplomatic solution" is foolish. Hamas and Hezbollah don't want a diplomatic solution. They want Jews to die.

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

Yeah, because Israel should just roll over and die for the barbarian scum.

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

Come on...comments like that really don't help. I mean, I feel the Arab race in the Middle East is, mostly, completely backwards and barbaric, but it's too easy to say "let's just wipe them off the map." I think the best thing to do is just let Israel have a free hand right now, and let them set their final borders on their own terms.
  20. Reading that thread on the other board about the "faked" moon landing, it seems to me that most conspiracy theories are started by someone who has no background or knowledge of the physics and/or details about something, but sees one thing that doesn't seem right and suddenly jumps to the conclusion that its an evil government conspiracy.
  21. Just another conspiracy theory that would make an interesting movie plot, but when you look for any facts or reasons as to why the US would've had to fake the landing, or supporting evidence, it quickly falls apart.

How do you feel about Iraq?

Iraq has enough oil to easily pay for its own rebuilding. The difference is that this time some of the money might actually go to the Iraqui people, where before it was just lining the pockets of Saddam and his cronies.

    Campaign 2008

He was just bringing up the common sense economics of it. Minimum wage isn't designed to support a whole family, or even necessarily one person.

    Middle East Tensions Exploding

Palestinians are looked down upon, or at least unwanted, by the rest of the Arabs...but Felonies is right..."Palestinian" is just another word for "Arab," really. The Arabs have mainly bought into the lie that Palestinians are somehow ethnically different from them, though.
