Now mutilate his body publicly and string him up.

Yeah, thanks for the Opie and Anthony link. They pretty much dismantled the guy. I think it was a little unfair at the end where they let the callers go wild on him, but they had pretty much completely disproven him by that point. I love how he brought up "voice manipulation software" or whatever, basically inferring that the people whose loved ones had called them from the doomed airplanes, were tricked by the government, or something idiotic like that.

Our system of law is based on at the MOST 4 commandments. (Murder, Adultery, Thievery, Bearing false witness) That's not a very strong correlation. Pretty much all the laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy have absolutely fuck all to do with our laws. So how is our laws based on Judeo-Christian values? That's just something we repeat so much it's accepted as truth. Plus the whole Judeo-Christian thing is a crock. No sect of Christianity that I know of follows Old Testament law. In fact, the New Testament pretty much directly contradicts it. The only part they pay attention to in the Old Testament is the 10 Commandments, and hating on the gays. If you read the New Testament, there's an incident where God basically revokes all the old laws dealing with which foods to eat and such. Also, a lot of the Old Testament laws no longer apply, because unlike the Israelites, we're not out wandering in the desert for forty years as part of a massive migration. Jesus did say to follow the Ten Commandments, and also "love thy neighbor as yourself."

I think Cindy Sheehan's son would be ashamed of what his mom is about. Cindy Sheehan is one disgraceful American that if she lived in some other places in the world, would be tried for Treason. I gotta also say that the reason why no conservatives post on this board is bc its filled with far leftist anti-american bullshit and frankly, why spend time reading mindless depressing drivel when the internet should be fun? Cindy Sheehan is the biggest whore I think I've ever seen in my life. I hope someone knocks that bitch's fat nose in some day for how she's disgraced her son's memory. Did you know she hasn't even gotten him a tombstone yet, but has had time to tour the country and take several vacations? It's on snopes.

I was awake last night around 1:30 AM CST (couldn't sleep) and was flipping through the channel. Surprisingly, I saw this first reported on ABC network's Late Night News (or whatever it's called) in a special report. MSNBC had something about 30 minutes later, followed finally by CNN. Just thought people might find that interesting.

Whoops, accidently double posted. "Yeah, and it rocked, IIRC."

NoCalMike, I think that fact is why a lot of these conspiracy theories about 9/11 keep popping up...the Bush administration has lost so much credibility because of the Iraq invasion, that people are willing to go back to a catastrophic event almost five years later, and question what really happened. As far as this "magic passport" people keep alluding to...I already said that if a credible source was presented in terms of a link to this story, I would be willing to discuss it. I have never heard of this passport until this thread, so a link to a legitimate news article or something would be kind of nice, before I go off trying to create a counter argument to something that may or may not have happened in the first place! I'm also getting a little sick of this argument that "the government lies to us 99% of the time, so we need to question one of the most heavily covered news events in the history of the United States." Yeah, the government can be scummy and underhanded, but they're not actively lying to us 24/7. Maybe twisting words and covering things occasionally, but if the government was lying to us almost 100% of the time, the media would be all over it. For the most part, what happens in the country gets reported, mostly accurately. Sometimes you have to wade through a lot of partisan bullshit, but we still have a free press to dissect what the President's press secretary tells us. Honestly, some of you act like we live in Red China or Castro's Cuba or something.

Well, our nation and laws are built on Judeo-Christian views, so I would say that "yes", they do have a place. I heard Bill O'Reilly put forth an interesting argument on gay marriage yesterday on his radio show. He claims he doesn't care either way if they legalize it, but questioned "If gay marriage is legal, than where is the line drawn? Do you have to also then make polygamy legal as well?" I don't necessarily think making gay marriage legal means the start of a "slippery slope", but he has something of a point.

When I worked at Bose we were secret shopped, generally at least once a month. Usually it was easy, because you'd know you were working with a secret shopper. Sometimes we'd get screwed though, because the person would just up and leave before we could finish our "sales process". Basically, Bose has a very detailed and lengthy demonstration and sales process they want their sales people to practice, so if you don't have enough time from the secret shopper, you're fucked. Oh well, so glad I haven't worked there for over two years now.

That could be a possibility. Maybe they're setting up to make Edge the ECW World Champion when the new TV show debuts?

Part of the problem was Booker T and Buff weren't really up to the level of main eventers, at least by WWF standards at the time. They simply weren't on par with guys like Rock, Austin, Triple H, etc. How would you feel if you bought a ticket to a wrestling show for one company, and the main event was comprised of two guys from a seemingly inferior and defunct wrestling promotion? Let's face it, Booker T was only on top of WCW very briefly before Vince bought it, and Buff Bagwell never broke past the midcard in WCW. If it had been a couple guys like, say, Goldberg and Hogan, or Nash and Flair, or Sting and Hall, it may have worked. Booker and Buff were never in that upper echelon in WCW. Also, I'm sure 90% of the WWF fans watching RAW that night had no idea who Scott Hudson was, and a lot probably didn't know much about Arn Anderson either (who hadn't even been a commentator before that night).

I agree, especially about the center channel. I recently upgraded mine to a Paradigm model, and it makes a huge difference...especially because I tend to watch a lot of television on my HT system, and probably well over 75% of your TV soundtrack (even if it comes through in Dolby Digital) comes through your center channel. Subwoofers are nice, but I think you need something with good tight bass. Some people just love that big booming bass that doesn't always work well with the rest of their system. I have a Velodyne sub myself, and really like it.

Canadians should more to welcome Islamic community

That's partly Bush's fault for invading Iraq though. I don't think people understand how completely insane the Taliban was. I remember reading stories about how they were going to start instituting Nazi-esque measures against their Jewish and Hindu communities right before 9/11 (making them wear armbands, etc). -
NYC and DC no longer in danger of terrorist attacks.

Good point. Yes, because these days with cable, satellite, national radio networks, and the internet, trends really do take years to spread across the country -
Well, my take is, as a Lutheran I don't feel I should have to support or endorse a lifestyle choice that I feel is morally wrong. However, as an American I can accept the fact that people are free to live how they want, as long as they're not hurting anyone else. If someone wants to live with their gay partner, that's fine, I won't stop you or try to change your mind. I could even see granting some rights to gay couples similar to the rights heterosexual married couples have. However, I don't feel it's right to outright have marriage between two men or two women. I think part of the problem is we're getting the religious institution of marriage intertwined with the government's definition of a family. I think some kind of civil rights act for gay people to have some of the same rights as straight married couples would be fine, I guess. I just don't think I should have to accept two gay people as being "married" just like a straight couple is.

OK, I had one of the mashed potato bowls today from KFC. Not that bad...nothing mind blowing, but not as horrible as people here are making it out to be. I didn't find the cheese or gravy to be overwhelming. More corn and mashed potato than I expected.

That's too bad. At least he put up a good fight and lasted a lot longer than he was supposed to, from what I understand. I hope WWE does a small tribute to him on an upcoming show or something. Back around '90 he was one of the few heel wrestlers that I was legitimately scared of.

If you don't understand why the US had to invade Afghanistan, you're a fucking idiot. -
I'm sorry, wildpegasus, but this is the dumbest bunch of limp wristed crap I think I've read yet in this thread, and that's saying something. "Common sense says something is wrong and we are being lied to"??? No, I think the voices in your head say something is wrong and you're being lied to. Yes, the government covers things up and misleads the public, occasionally. Such is life, power corrupts absolutely, etc. However, do you honestly believe this administration, which has otherwise been almost completely incompetent in foreign and domestic affairs, was able to orchestrate such a colossal attack on it's own nation, without anyone blowing a whistle to the public? Don't take me for some young, naive person. I'm a college graduate with a full time job, a house, and a marriage. I'm not some college student sitting in my dorm room inhaling left wing drivel from my professors who are still living in the free love 1960s and reminiscing about taking down the evil Richard Nixon. Yes, there are things that were weird and strange about 9-11. That's because nothing like this has ever happened to the US, at least since Pearl Harbor. Yet, you conspiracy nuts can only offer ramblings and hypothetical conjecture, along with commentary from disillusioned ex-government employees. That's not evidence of any kind in the real world. Maybe you should come back and join the rest of us in reality. Either that, or like someone else said, go spout your theories to someone who lost a loved one on that fateful day, and see how convincing you are then. But then again, it's safer to hide behind the keyboard where your words can't hurt people's feelings, and you don't have to answer for your own lunacy.

C'mon, admit it. You copied the CDs and then decided you wanted your refund, but didn't want to give out your personal info.

Eh, he could've just been a nice guy. I've done the exact same thing (though my car was damaged by someone I knew and they didn't run off) where I don't charge a thing for something like that. You'd probably be really confused in NS Hawk34. Not to stereotype, but maybe the guy didn't have a valid green card or passport, making it impossible for him to file charges without getting deported.

Thanks for the links. I just watched the Demos vs Tenryu/Kitao match, and thought it was actually a decent little heavyweight tag match. Question: Did Tenryu and Kitao go over because WWF had longer term plans to push them, or was it just sort of a political thing beause of their partnership with SWS (I think that was the promotion they were working with)?

Dobbs 3K replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in Current Events
Canada should take Australia's tone after this incident: "You're welcome to come here, but if you want an Islamic theocracy, there's other countries where you can go, because it's not happening here." -
Feuds That Could Have Happened But Never Did

I don't know if "a few months" is that accurate. I'd heard he was going to be around for at least another year, but I could be wrong.
