Hell, my wife is in grad school, and she has this one night class where almost every night, someone's phone goes off. Ban 'em, I say.

With getting a new house, we're hopefully going to get high speed internet. I'm interested in getting a laptop for wireless internet surfing (note that I already have a good Dell desktop). I'm looking for something for mainly internet browsing, e-mail, and word processing. I may do a little bit of work stuff (Excel, etc), but that's it...not looking for a high end gaming laptop or anything like that. I really haven't looked into laptops, so can anyone point me in the right direction, as far as good models or stores to look at? I'm looking to stay under $800 or so, hopefully maybe a little less than that. Any features in particular to look for? Thanks in advance.

Dumb question...if I was to get an iBook, would like, I be able to convert files from the iBook to our PC desktop? Like say I'm working on a text document, could I bring it over to the PC later, or is that really complicated and pointless? I've been under the impression that Macs are good if you want to do video and photo stuff, etc...which doesn't really interest me.

Probably several hundred times at least, with any Star Wars movie since the original trilogy.

Tomorrow will be MY DAY....FROM...HELL!

Most I ever worked was one summer in college at a factory job, doing about 60 hours a week. It sucked (the work was tedious and morale was horrible), but at least I made a lot of money (that time and a half really helps), and basically didn't have to work a real job during the school year. -
Is Biohazard really considered legendary? I'm definitely watching this for Nugent and Bach alone.

Yes, I've been to real Chinese restaurants. There is one in the town I live that is basically take out, but they have sit down dining too...it's the kind where the dishes are served in a foil pan, and the rice comes in the paper boxes, etc. There is a really good Chinese restaurant in Janesville, WI, called the Cozy Inn...it's been around since like, the 1930s or so. It is neat because it has that feel on the inside. The booths are tall and circular, and the food is _really_ good, but pricier than your average Chinese place. Probably the best Chinese I've ever had.

The woman in question in the original article sounded like some white trash bitch out with her boyfriend and two kids, out to get some cheap fun by wasting food. The restaurant is a private establishment, they can kick out whoever they want. My experience with Chinese buffets is usually this (at least the two newer ones in this area): They start out really great when they first open, but by about six months later the quality of the food really declines, no matter what time of day you go. Selection declines, and the food is always lukewarm and not hot, no matter time of day. Really disappointing, as I enjoy Chinese food.

Yeah, that George W. Bush is surely a great conservative president, isn't he? This doesn't smack of big government at all...

OK, I didn't seriously mean that they should just shoot those people. But, we need to toughen border security (is there anyone who doesn't agree on that point?), and armed security is the only practical solution at this point.

Heh. I haven't heard of this kind of excitement for a baseball card since the Billy Ripken "error" card from like 1987.

Maybe Heyman realized that no matter how he built up the wrestlers, they'd just get brought into WWE with some idiotic gimmick.

The Worst Wrestling Show of All-Time
Dobbs 3K replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
Fall Brawl '98 was the one and only WCW PPV that I've ever ordered, sadly. Seemed like it would be an exciting card on paper and was really idiotically booked the whole way through. No Goldberg or Flair on the card either? WTF? -
I guess another one of my big problems with the Spirit Squad is that we've already seen the Spirit Squad vs 1 or 2 guys, and we will probably continue to see handicap matches ad nauseum involving them for the next year or so. I really hate handicap matches. It's indicative of lazy booking.

Ugh...yeah, WCW just didn't get that we didn't want to be told what we were watching wasn't real. Fuck you Vince Russo. -

I concur with your sentiment. I don't really understand what snuffbox's problem is. -
Who here supports the current administration?

Why? Is someone going to put a hit on him or something? And Masked Man...not to be a jerk, because it sucks your dad got laid off, but don't you think part of the problem may have been that your dad's training was out of date? -
Dude, what the fuck are you talking about? Just look at them. They look all preppy and jump around like idiots, while doing their ridiculous chants. They remind me of a local fraternity that would have a big circle jerk during a kegger party.

I was just going to mention Billy. The guy is the ultimate utility starter...he can play basically any infield position (3B, 2B, and SS mostly), and can play centerfield. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he could catch if he had to. Right now he has a .305 batting average with 7 home runs and 15 RBIs on the year, and that's just with 85 ABs. The guy is a constant offensive threat, and that's why Ned Yost makes sure he plays as much as possible.

they all do that shit, man. Not all of them. Most, sure. Not all though. Not the ones whose parents actually do their jobs and beat their kids every once in a while.

No one...but in France, for example, if you make a million dollars a year (or euros, I guess), you can expect to be taxed up to 50%. -
Alright, so Finlay is awesome and most of us love the guy.
Dobbs 3K replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
The only way this would be good is if the midget comes out with Finlay, Finlay wrestles a match and wins, and then he promptly beats the midget to death in the middle of the ring, because, "My name is Finlay...I love to fight...and I hate midgets!" -
I agree...it seems like they're getting into a cycle of just rehashing stuff over and over again. Feuds are getting drawn out way too long...it's ok to do an extended 6 month feud when you have two hot main eventers, but no one wants to see another variation of HBK vs Vince McMahon again. Cena vs Triple H is the same thing...Cena is not popular enough to carry this feud, and Triple H, while getting more over, isn't seen as someone deserving of another title shot. It just seems really counter-productive for them to be pushing the same stuff right now. At least mix up some feuds or put the WWE Championship on someone else, for crying out loud.

I don't know the story, but was he talking about Miss Linda, his longtime valet?

The whole Dreamer segment just had the crowd confused the entire time. They really messed it up by bringing Dreamer out of nowhere, to a crowd who obviously didn't care. Like others have said, if they had done this on the East coast somewhere, it probably would've gotten a lot more heat. I think the WWE considers every city they run basically interchangable at this point, and that's a big flaw. I liked Kane/Show. It was the complete opposite of what I expected. The Spirit Squad still come off like a bunch of faggots, but at least they are being used properly (I think). They definitely need to have Ken Doane break away from the group sooner than later. I wish WWE would realize Eugene has had absolutely zero heat since Triple H buried him last year. Hey, WWE, you guys had something special with Eugene and you ruined it. Either give him a new gimmick or fire him. The crowd knows he isn't going anywhere right now by being the same old Eugene.
