Well, Sheets just got pulled in the 3rd inning. Ouch. Astros lead 6-2. You could tell Yost didn't want to do that, but it's the right move in this case. Just an unusually bad outing from Sheets tonight. Hopefully the bullpen can pull through and keep the Brewers in the game.

I hadn't heard about Sheets being sick. I think he looks fairly normal, but yeah, he's definitely not putting on a command performance at the moment. I think basically he hasn't found his "groove" yet this season.

I'm thinking maybe they should have Kenny turn face somehow and break away from the Spirit Squad. Maybe he could blame them for the fact that he didn't win the WWE Championship last week or something. He definitely seems to have the most potential out of all of them right now.

It's because I think weed is relatively harmless, and shouldn't be illegal. Heroin on the other hand tends to turn its users into complete addicts after the FIRST time they use it, and if you stop using it (without methadone) the withdrawal can actually kill you. No product like that should ever be legal for human consumption. Plus, about half the poppy fields that help produce it are located in the Middle East... guess where all that money ends up. Not to be a jerk, but smoking tobacco is legal in the US, and yeah, you probably won't get addicted right away, but it does tend to be pretty addictive to many people in the long run, and does kill (eventually).

Yeah, in Europe the radio frequencies are allotted differently. FM operates on even decimal points (as opposed to odd ones in the US), and also AM station are separated in 9 kilohertz increments instead of 10. OK, I'm a radio geek, so sue me.

Is there going to be a draft lottery this year, though? They haven't announced or even hinted at anything yet. Frankly, I wouldn't miss it. It just ends up creating a lot of weirdness on both shows. I'm still of the opinion that Batista and Cena shouldn't have switched shows, since Cena fit so much better on Smackdown than RAW.

Yeah, but if you move the crowd up and dim the lights a bit, it really shouldn't be a factor, regardless of the size of the wrestlers or supposed intimacy issues. Remember, this is the experience of the viewers at home we're talking about, not the experience of the people in the arena. I think taping ECW after Smackdown is a great idea...they could also possible dismantle at least part of the entrance to make it seem more stripped down, change the ring apron, etc.

No, it wasn't an earth chaning promo, but it was definitely unexpected, and it mixed in real life...the best angles historically have some time of real life element mixed in. I thought it was interesting how the crowd wasn't reacting too much to what Styles said. I think they were shocked more than anything, since no one has really spoken that way on WWE television in years.

And he's so stylishly dressed, too. And even though I'm a homer and I think the world of Brad Lidge...despite his difficulties, I've gotta say he's the best closer in the NL, at least in the young season. And to think he was a friggin' waiver claim. Oh well, we got Fernando Nieve going tomorrow against some rookie named...Ben Sheets (sp?), so I think we can count on a split. I take it you're joking about Sheets being a rookie...at least I hope so. Sheets should have a good outing...the question is if he gets any kind of bat support. Yeah, the Brewers have definitely made out well on waiver claims over the past couple seasons. Doug Melvin is doing a great job as a GM (I don't think he's made one bad trade yet), and the other plus is that pitching coach Mike Maddux (Greg's brother) seems like he can turn virtually anyone into a good pitcher. As far as Chris Capuano, he probably had the quietest 18 win season ever last year, at least in the NL. His pick off move is quite potent, to boot.

They're trying to position the new ECW as "wrestling" and WWE as "sports entertainment."

Brewers beat the Astros 4-2 tonight at Miller Park. Always nice to beat teams within your own division. Derrick Turnbow is 9-for-9 on save attempts this year, and now leads the NL in saves.

I think my most memorable moment out of all these games was taking Shawn Michaels through the story mode of Wrestlemania 2000, and culminating with the big steel cage title match against the reigning WWF Champion: Mideon! Kind of weird how the computer would have basically anyone beat the champion at any given time.

I've always thought that if we can't execute rapists or child molesters, maybe we could just exile all of them to some remote island for the rest of their lives.

Frankly, I'm surprised the current administration isn't in favor of at least some legalization of weed. I know, there's the conservative right wing that would never approve of any laxation of restrictions on marijuana...but, a population that's high is a population that's distracted...

Well, ECW didn't have a "Cruiserweight division" or any kind of equivalent title. The guys like Rey and Psicosis were just presented as luchadores in ECW. WCW was the first promotion to have a major "lighter heavyweight" division, at least since their own Light Heavyweight Title in the early '90s. WWF tried to copy that formula with their own LHW Title, but that was basically a total failure, and the title was basically abandoned until they put it on Dean Malenko in 2000. WCW was definitely responsible for the creation and popularity of "cruiserweight" wrestling in the US. WWF/WWE really had no hand in it. Instead of trying to completely downplay WCW's contribution, they could have said something like "WCW played a major role in the rise of Cruiserweight wrestling in the US." Instead they used the word "partially" which makes it sound like WCW's influence was pretty minimal.

I hope JR has a heart attack on the air at some point, so we don't have to listen to him ever again.

Well, the Cubs are probably wishing the rain had continued today, as they're losing 6-0 to the Brewers right now, and Zambrano just got taken out of the game.

Yeah, the local Fox station did a story on that game last night. One thing they didn't point out: If you look at the game for even five seconds, it's obvious that the game was produced by neo-Nazi extremists. I mean, there's a STAR OF DAVID ON THE AMERICAN FLAG! Yet, they didn't make one mention of that in their story, just that the games were racist and no one should play them, etc. They tried to play up the story like this game was the new GTA3 and all your kids would be playing it, etc...when it's just another crappy web flash game.
