I remember in the WWF N64 games you could make some really ridiculous game intros occur by changing the default wrestlers.

I agree. A lot of people are mad about how Iraq has gone, etc. Couple that with other domestic issues that have been neglected, and I wouldn't be feeling to safe right now if I'm a GOP Congressperson.

Yeah, Sherlock, that's who I was thinking of. But, I'm almost positive it was Disco's face on the select screen.

Promote alternative energy sources (I know this wouldn't decrease the price at the pump, but it would ultimately solve the problem), increase oil production, tap into reserves, start stealing from Iraq's supply...I don't really care what they do. There's like, a bunch of different solutions the government could put forward if they wanted to. Instead, they cater to their base with an agenda that isn't going to accomplish anything except allow a bunch of white guys in suits to pat themselves on their backs.

Anyone got any crazy Autograph Signing stories?
Dobbs 3K replied to spman's topic in General Wrestling
Not really. Back in '98 Mick Foley was doing a one shot indy appearance in Milwaukee as Cactus Jack (which was neat because this was like, a week after he did that promo on RAW renouncing the Cactus Jack gimmick). Before the show started, my friend came back to our seats with a signed pic from Foley. I went and found him. No line at all. He was actually just set up with a table at the top of a stairwell, basically. I said "Hey, Cactus!" He said "Hey man, how's it going?" and I paid him five bucks to sign a glossy photo. I tried to tell him how to spell my name, but I don't think he got it, as he just kind of scribbled something. True story. -
How about doing something about an issue that actually affects most Americans? Like how about the fact that gas is going up AGAIN?

What's with Animal being called simply "Road Warrior" now? Doesn't some movie company have a copyright on that name? Like we're supposed to forget he's been called Animal for last 25 years.

Rumsfeld doesn't think we're getting the message out.

I don't know why the media bothers to even report on Bush's embarassments and fuck-ups anymore. Congress never really takes him to task on any of it, so what is the point? You can talk about all his failures all you want, but if there is no punishment, it's completely moot. I really don't think history is going to be looking at this administration with rose colored glasses in 10 or 20 years. -
Well, Brewers beat the Mets today 8-2, after getting thrashed yesterday by Tom Glavine. Highlight of the game for me was Tomo Ohka's slash bunt, where he ended up dumping an RBI double into the outfield.

I seem to remember Curt Hennig having a really long feud in WCW...I want to say against DDP, but I'm not 100% sure. Guess it wasn't that bad because I can't remember his opponent, but they wrestled each other a bunch of times with no real reasoning.

Bush never gets rid of any of his cronies, no matter how unpopular. -
I know I'll take a lot of heat for this, but I thought the three way Hardyz/Dudleyz/E&C feud went for a bit longer than it needed to. All the matches just kind of blurred together after a while.

"From the AP: BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro - Slobodan Milosevic, the former Yugoslav leader on trial for alleged war crimes, was found dead in his prison cell at the U.N. tribunal in The Hague, Belgrade's B-92 and Serbia's state radio said Saturday. He was 65. A U.N. war crimes prosecution official in the Dutch capital, speaking on condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to speak to the media, confirmed the report to The Associated Press." Good riddance to bad garbage, I say.

Yeah, that was pretty fantastic. That was one of the few times I could remember really being surprised at a mystery partner. I had no idea Steamboat was coming back to WCW. I liked "The Enforcers" tag team of Double A and Larry Z, but I thought Arn and Eaton's team was a bit better.

Exactly, he works on a per-appearance basis, as far as I know. If Sabu can't make it, that really puts TNA in a bind.

I haven't seen all of those matches, but from the ones I have seen, I'd definitely go with UT/Angle. That was just a fanstasticly worked match, much better than anyone would have a right to expect from Undertaker at this point in his career. Kind of funny the women's title match is the only strictly RAW match on that list. You'd think there would be more RAW matches we could come up with, but I can't think of any right now.

Is Tommy Stinson still playing bass with G'n'R?
-
Why? I mean, this is the internet. If you need to rub one out, no one is going to know or try to stop you. Or were you talking about a different kind of self-restraint? You need to be more specific or people are going to twist your words around.

Basically it's that the WWE still books stuff like we're in the middle of the Monday Night Wars of the late '90s, forgetting all that stuff happened almost ten years ago.

Yep...The Giant was definitely Andre. I thought it was lame that they couldn't at least put a different head on him in the game to make it look a little more like Paul Wight. Also, I remember Disco Inferno being in the game...or, at least his face was on the select screen, but I think he was actually Ken Shamrock in the game. For the time, the game engine was pretty good...decent controls, and a wide move set for most guys. Too bad you could only do 1-on-1 matches. No tag team matches or gimmick matches of any kind.

Bret isn't the one bringing it up constantly and booking it as a match ending repeatedly.

Nastiest head drops in wrestling history.

Ouch...sort of a nasty original piledriver there. -
I can pretty much agree with that. I've also wondered if it would be OK for me and a group of people to cross over the Mexican border into Mexico without any documentation. Would the Mexican government be reciprocal or hypocritical in how they handled a situation like that?

WCW vs the World was the first PSX game I ever bought...got it the same day I bought my Playstation console. It was a fun game, and pretty innovative for its time, but I doubt it holds up today....kind of like most of the WWF games from that era.
-
Yes, so you'd think they'd be extra careful in booking him.
