That's kind of scary to hear about Waltman. As unpopular as he might be around here, another guy who was fairly big during the "boom period" killing himself would not be the kind of publicity pro-wrestling needs right now.

The rule change stuff in '92 just made WCW seem like they were trying to relive the glory days of the 1980s (you know, when Crockett was losing money and Vince was putting all the territories out of business). I don't really get any advantages of taking away top rope moves, and that sort of thing.

Yeah, there would be nothing wrong with Edge/UT main eventing, and RAW having a four way title match a couple matches down the card. Only problem is that you either have to close the show with a heel Edge winning, or UT winning the belt, and people bitching that he doesn't need the title at this point in his career.

justcoz, I think you nicely summed up a lot of the problems WWE has run into, trying to still be Vince's version of toilet humor and shock TV, but at the same time trying to be a publicly traded company and vying for bigger time slots on better networks, etc.

What if Orton ends up keeping the title at NWO, and they do Hardy/Orton at WM for the title, and Cena/Triple H as like a #1 contenders thing? Otherwise, I do kind of like the four way match idea.

I think the problem with the Million Dollar Corporation was that they never had any big faces to really feud with. I guess they kind of feuded with Luger, and Lawrence Taylor to a point. Then there was the angle with Bam Bam Bigelow. It just seemed like the whole angle was really unfocused. With some better booking, they could have been WWF's version of the Dangerous Alliance, but they never really seemed to do much but wallow in the midcard. Honestly, I think by 1994 or so, Dibiase's heart wasn't really in wrestling anymore. It looked like he was just doing stuff and cutting half-hearted cliche heel promos to get a paycheck, basically.

Jones certainly had one of the most legitimate "bad ass" looks of anyone in a long time. I just don't see why WWE needs another giant scary guy right now. They've already got Khali, Big V, Kane, Mark Henry, Snitsky, and Paul Wight coming back. Throw in Umaga, and you've got a monster wrestler section that is just begging to be cleared out.

I think maybe they were going for a laid back tropical kind of feel, since it's in Florida. That's the only thing I can think of. Honestly, I don't think it matters. The way things are playing out, this is going to be a fairly low key Wrestlemania, comparatively. I think they're saving the big hype and going all out for a big WM 25 in '09.

Just kind of surprised at the song choice because it's a bit older song...it came out a couple years ago, IIRC? I guess they have used older songs in the past, though.

Yeah...pretty much after Dibiase left, he dropped the Ringmaster moniker, at least. His attitude changed. I remember him cutting promos on jobbers on Superstars, and losing at least one match by DQ because he refused to wrestle the guy, and then beat him up with a microphone, or something along those lines.

I think that was just something Scott Keith or someone else assumed, and it was taken as fact by everyone on the internet.

Do some of you even watch Smackdown? It's usually WWE's best show during the week.

Probably about time for Levy to call it a career. It would've been cool if he could've been brought in to the new ECW to do some stuff, but we all know that wasn't going to happen.
