Rush Limbaugh vs Michael J Fox

I've checked, by the way. It does. However, the entire anti-Amendment 2 campaign still revolves around cloning. http://www.sos.mo.gov/elections/2006ballot...ult.asp#general Anyhow... credit: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/26/...in2128188.shtml

So? Self-inflicted suffering just to help the Democratic Party? I'm glad to see favoring stem cell research during a Congressional hearing is now considered the same thing as helping the Democratic Party.

The OAO 2006 US Elections Thread

I seem to care more about the Virginia race than the one in my own state. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/28/Dem...o.ap/index.html I bolded the most interesting point. Some Democrats are selling bipartisanship, which may play better in the South. I'm sure that even to a lot of conservatives, divided government is starting to sound like a good idea. This administration was far more tolerable when the Democrats had control of the Senate from June of 2001 through the end of 2002.

    Death of a President

That's tremendous. I'm seriously running out of room in my sig. Anyhow...I took Czech's post to mean those were the reason the shows/movies were created. You're taking Czech's post to mean that's why people watched those shows. If he meant what you think he meant, instead of what I think he meant, then I'd argue that since most people quit watching West Wing about 2 years into Bush's presidency, his comment was not really valid from that perspective either.

    Death of a President

Bob, you ignorant slut. Your capacity to be wrong never ceases to amaze me. Don't correct me unless you're absolutely sure you've got your facts right. How can someone with that much useless TV trivia trapped in their head not realize (or be able to look up) that the show premiered on September 22, 1999 and Bush took office on January 20, 2001? Since when are TV seasons 2 years long? Also, Czech's premise was that the show was created so it would show what it would be like to have a Democrat as president. There already was a Democrat as president at the time, and had been for over 6 years. Thus, his premise is in error. End of story.

Rush Limbaugh vs Michael J Fox

Its not that I don't tend to blindly believe everything everyone on the internet says, but I'd like a source on this. Michael J. Fox may have been born in Canada, but he is also an American citizen. He is entitled to participate in the American electoral process and has his right to speak guaranteed by the First Amendment.

Not a good example. The Japanese already had the Taisho Democracy just prior to the war.

According to my listings, the show won't be on this Monday. Has it been moved? Is it on hiatus? Is it cancelled?

"Why the hell would anyone vote for George Allen?" part 2 From a New Republic piece that was published 4/27/06, before the "macaca" indicident. There is substantial evidence that Allen is both a racist and a Confederate sympathizer. http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20060508&am...a050806&c=1

How can any right minded Muslim

!!!!!!!!! ?????? "Australia's most prominent Islamic cleric declared Friday that he would not resign for suggesting that women who don't wear head scarves invite rape, saying he would only leave his post "after we clean the world of the White House first." The terms "most prominent" and "leader" are not synonyms. Saying someone is "Australia's most prominent Islamic cleric" isn't the same thing as saying they're the "leader of a religion in an entire country." That'd be like saying James Dobson is the leader of Christianity in America.

    Death of a President

Political assasination is an idea that runs contrary to what the vast majority of Americans believe in, and to a movie about it about the sitting president is disturbing. This sounds like it might've been a pretty good movie if they'd made it about a fictional person. They're not advocating that assasinating Bush is a good idea, but simply saying "here's what would happen if he was," but I don't find a filmmaker's ideas on what that would be like to be a particularly useful insight into the real world.

    4,000 dead Americans

The reason people obsess over the WMDs is because that was the reason that all the other reasons except humanitarian justifications were based on. We were afraid Saddam would give WMDs to terrorists, and he was defying the UN on WMD inspections. And seriously..."Defiance of the UN" as its own reason? Yeah, I'm sure the Bush Administration was really torn up about THAT one.
