JLU Season 3 starts September 17th
SuperJerk replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Television & Film
Season 2 of "Justice League" is out today, and costs anywhere between $32 and $36, depending where you go. 26 episodes in non-anamorphic widescreen, 3 commentaries, and one 10-minute behind the scenes feature. The crew pretty much admits they didn't think much of the show's very first season, either. As slow as these things are coming out, I doubt we'll be getting the 3 seasons of JLU anytime soon. The final volume of Superman: the Animated Series also came out today, but I haven't picked it up yet. -
Holy Tyler sighting! Glad we agree.

Preach it, brother.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111794181...10&cs=1&s=h&p=0 Even as a fan, my feelings about this are mixed. As cool as it'd be to see a new Trek movie (there's universal agreement that's been at least a decade since there was a good one), prequels have proven time again to not be the best way to go creatively. However, as bad an idea as this is, its probably the only way Star Trek will ever be resurrected. Whether or not that's a even a good goal is debatable. In the last decade, Star Trek has gotten incredibly unpopular due to over-saturation and the perceived over-zealousness of its fans. Nobody's really clamoring for new Trek adventures.

I get it on DirecTV. I'm unsure how the A-Team qualifies as a mystery show. The only mystery is how they keep getting B.A. Baracus into the airplane with that damn fool Murdoch.

Here's somethng I was thinking about the other day... Think about how many shitty, joke candidates there were in every campaign for the last 20 years. I'm talking about fuckers like Morey Taylor, Alan Keyes, Steve Forbes, Bob Dornan, and Pat Buchanan. Guys who stood no chance in hell of being nominated, but drew attention away from serious, well-qualified candidates (i.e. Richard Lugar, Phil Gramm, Lamar Alexander, etc) none of whom got very far in the primaries because people who could've been supporting them were too busy supporting the other jackasses. To make things worse, Dole used his considerable leverage to keep other candidates from even entering the race. Still, there was probably enough opposition to keep Dole from getting the 1996 nomination, but the anti-Dole people couldn't unify behind a guy who actually stood a chance of winning. The 1996 Republican campaign is a prime example of how NOT to nominate a candidate. I really hope all the one-issue, publicity-stunt candidates can be kept out of the election cycle this time.

So...the first day with kids was today. Of course, the buses aren't running yet (the school I'm working at is within the confines of KCMO...aka the Worst district of teh EVERS~!) and so we had maybe 10 kids all day. So I earned my pay today, I guess. The wackiness of this experience only intensifies as I come to learn one of my partners is bi-polar. Let me share with you now the exchange we had after school today: Crazy Bi-polar Girl: We need to figure out what to do about those... (long pause) Me: Academic contracts? Because Brenda and I already wrote of the draft for it and its ready to go for tomorrow. Crazy Bi-polar Girl: NO, I WASN'T GOING TO SAY ACADEMIC CONTRACTS! YOU INTERRUPTED ME TO ANSWER A QUESTION I WASN'T EVEN GOING TO ASK! MY EX-HUSBAND INTERRUPTED ME ALL OF THE TIME AND YOU'LL NOTICE HIS NAME IS "EX"! Brenda: Wow, you have an ex-husband? I didn't know you'd been married...

KFC's like Pizza Hut in the sense that every time you have their "food," you swear you're never eating there again. Then a few months later your grease tank needs a fill-up so you return only to repeat this magical process again. I feel the same way about Wendy's.

Being the early favorite in the Democratic primaries hasn't traditionally meant much.

Vince, is that you? -
I like the way EricMM thinks he's cool because he still posts over there, as if associating with sadists is something to be proud of.

His decision is a direct result of the Civil War storyline which involves super-heroes being forced to become government agents. Peter Parker also now lives at Avengers HQ with Aunt May and Mary Jane, so they're protected. Or are they...?

The final post I ever made at the Pit. This is the first time I went over there since I posted that. I liked Mike's response, since apparently he thinks I'm the reason he got banned from here. Yes, I complained to the mods because of his "Islam is a death cult" routine. I even said I now considered it a mistake for me to do that, but that didn't stop him from bringing it up every chance he got.

I can see that side of it, but I'm skeptical about the long-term ramifications.

They came back naturally. I think the guy below Hawkgirl and beside Green Arrow is Capt. Atom. The guy below Hawkgirl is either Martian Manhunter or Red Tornado. No idea on the other women. Is Wonder Woman Donna Troy?

So, yeah, Ann Coulter...

They showed the clip on Fox News Sunday this morning of Hillary getting booed for saying it'd be a mistake for America to set an arbitrary deadline to get out of Iraq, and Kerry being cheered for saying he should've never voted for the war resolution and America should get out ASAP. This is obviously a 180 degree reversal from 2004, and I never thought I'd be closer to voting for Hillary Clinton than for John Kerry. The 2008 primaries are going to be a battle between the "get out of Iraq now" faction and the "we must stay and help fix Iraq" factions of the Democratic Party. I don't think any other issue is going to matter, and the division may be enough to kill their chances in the general election.

"I'm not going back, Jim!" edit: I couldn't resist going back after all...

My indignation is purely of a retaliatory variety these days, and I'm not out there calling people idiots for disagreeing with me, or insulting people's parentage when they make a counter-argument. I think the meanest thing you'll get from me these days is a "Please consult my avatar" or "You were only 8 years old when that happened." Comparing me to Mike is like comparing a 6-shooter to a machine gun. In the past, I recall the biggest flame war MikeSC and I ever had was when he said Islam was a death cult. I completely stand by my indignation on that one. Agreed. Vyce is good people. I also think SJ, Justice, kkk, Invader3K and Czech bring a lot to the table.

Just how many creationist myths need to be debunk before you just say "forget it"? Whoever wrote that page takes creationism completely to school for some of their ridicules assertions. Then of course, this site also contain these gems of arguments: http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v22/i1/creation.asp In other words, all facts = opinions. http://www.answersingenesis.org/Home/Area/.../existence1.asp Atheists = Hitler http://www.answersingenesis.org/Home/Area/.../cains_wife.asp This is from an argument as to why it was okay for Cain to marry his sister. Physical deformities are the result of original sin. Adam and Eve were physically perfect, and thus, they had perfect kids, and harmful recessive genes didn't enter into the equation until after the exile from Eden. I have no counter argument for this except to ask: "Why would a benevolent God would curse 300 generations of humanity because someone got it in the their head one day it'd be okay to eat a piece of fruit?" That's my underlying problem, really. Doubt about creationism comes from my skepticism that the Bible is true. The guy responcible for that websites makes literally hundreds of assumptions about what is true based on the fact that he can point to proof of it in the Bible. Non-believers can, on the other hand, use thousands of sources as proof that contradict the Bible. The only proof for the literal interpretation of the Bible is the Bible itself, and the only proof for science is scientific evidence. Which has more credibility: the one that's been handed down in book form from 3,000 years ago, or the one that can be independently verified through testing, duplication of experiments, and collection of additional data? YOU DECIDE!

certainly the smart thing to do...but I thought I saw somewhere where he wanted nothing to do with a sequel? On those same lines, and I'm certainly not complaining, but wasn't there talks of having someone else play Daredevil for a possible sequel? Honestly, I didn't mind Ben Affleck in that flick. ::stares at Lushus as if he's grown a second head on his shoulder a la Zaphod Beeblebrox:: The Daredevil Director's Cut was much better than the theaterical version. [/already said this 10,000 times mode]

http://ifmagazine.com/new.asp?article=3045 For the record, I don't think the problem with the "Hulk" movie was that it wasn't enough like the comics. I think the problem with the Hulk movie was that it was too slow and convoluted with Freudian psycho-babble.

I don't understand the point of the canopy theory. Most people I know who beleive in evolution also believe that evolution was the tool God used to create the various species of the planet (which is compatible with the allegorical argument). Those aren't the people pushing for teaching "intelligent design" in schools, even though the concept of intelligent design isn't incompatible with evolution.
