Yeah, unless you're a member of the Christian Right, and you have a set list of litmus tests a candidate must pass in order to gain your vote.

Damn, they really did a good job disguising who those extra JLAers are. I have no idea who the gal with the wings and mace is, or who the guy with the green bow and arrow is. I think the guy with the glowing green thing on his hand might be Bwana Beast.

I doubt half the people who defend creationism have never even read the first chapter of Genesis. The one's who have read it and defend it usually have to resort to saying, "It could've happened that way because God can do anything and you got to have faith in God." And apparently God left all of this geological and biological evidence around just to trick us into not believing in Him.

I was going to post some comment about how all Ann Coulter really needed was a night with Michael Dorn, but decided it was going to far.

Warner has the least amount of governmental experience of anyone in the field. He served one term as a governor. He has no military experience, and he has zero foriegn policy experence at a time when the #1 issue is foriegn policy.

You sticking by this? No, because I really have no idea who the Republicans will nominate. They're a smart party, and realize they have to be able to appeal to people beyond their base. There's no early favorite who both the conservatives like and that the party can sell to the public at large. It could still be Frist, but I think the one-two punch of Terry Shiavo and the Bush Medicare Plan have crippled his chances with the public at large, and the party knows it. The problem with McCain and Guliniani is that they appeal to the mainstream, but not to the conservatives. Guiliani's too liberal for them, and McCain's recent movement to the right is a transparent campaign move. The Democrats are hungry for a win. The even the liberals are willing to put winning ahead of ideology at this point, because they absolutely don't want another Republican. Now, if they win back the Congress in the midterms, that hunger might subside a bit. If it doesn't, Bayh's the smart choice. He has an extremely impressive record as a governor he can use, and his time as a senator gives him foriegn policy experience. It'll also help him beat Hillary in the primaries (even though I still don't think she'll run) if he picks a woman as his running mate early (something Kerry absolutely should have done instead of picking Edwards...a move I still don't understand, by the way). Here's my potential candidate by candidate breakdown: Possible Republicans John McCain- Conservatives think he's the devil, and is just pandering to their issues. Rudolph Giuliani- Won't run, and won't appeal to many conservatives even if he did. Mitt Romney- Depends on how far he can divorce himself from his pro-choice past. Newt Gingrich- About as popular as cancer. Bill Frist- Shiavo, Medicare, etc. George Pataki- too liberal. George Allen- Has an excellent resume, but party of Lincoln is too smart to nominate a Confederate sympathizer. Sam Brownback- No appeal at all beyond the party's base. Chuck Hagel- His anti-war views will kill his candidacy. Mike Huckabee- See Vilsack. Possible Democrats Hillary Clinton- Her negatives are too high outside the party, and the party knows it. The American people won't want or accept the first female president to be a woman who repeatedly let her husband fool around on her. Al Gore- Not running. John Kerry- Already had his chance, and will be urged by the party to not even make the attempt. Joe Biden- The plagarism charges that derailed his 1988 campaign are long forgotten (especially since the charges were weak to begin with), but the fact that he's been very pro-Iraq War and his long career in the Senate a strong weaknesses. Tom Vilsack- Iowa a pretty small state, and he has no foriegn policy experience, which a bigger deal since 9/11. Mark Warner- Can easily be painted as inexperienced. Russ Feingold- His candidacy might have legs if he makes the war a focus of his campaign, but he's really just a one-isue candidate. Wesley Clark- People see him more as Sec. of State or Defense material, given he has no background in domestic affairs (the Democrats' bread and butter). John Edwards- He did nothing for the 2004 ticket, so no. Plus, like in 2004, he has no record to run on. He'll look particularly bizarre running if Kerry runs. Evan Bayh- My pick to win the nomination, as long as the liberals don't scream too loud.

Why the hell would anyone teach creationism in history class, except to to point to it as an idea that belongs on the scrap heap of history with fascism, divine right of kings, and the New Coke. Uh, yeah. Y2Jerk gets a little too eager to debunk people. Don't you have someone's grammar to go correct or something?

Yeah, its like the stories were taking place in some kind of pocket universe of suck.

I think Marvel's gone too far by having Spider-Man reveal his secret identity. I can accept it with someone like Captain America, who doesn't have a life outside of super-heroing, but Spider-Man? The character just committed suicide as far as I'm concerned.

WHOA SEND THAT TO AL FRANKEN Al Franken doesn't really do comedy anymore, send it to Stephanie Miller, she'll do a skit about it Website Wiki of the show she's the daughter of Barry Goldwater's running mate, by the way THAT Stephanie Miller? She had a late night talk show around the time Johnny Carson retired thast lasted about 5 episodes. I remember she had Michael "Worf" Dorn on the show (who I'll admit is a pretty good looking guy without the make-up) and she just about knocked the set over with her tongue hanging out of her mouth. This, folks, is the stuff I remember. Not my mom's birthday. Not my wife's favorite flower. Stuff like this. Its like my brain is specially wired for stupid trivia.

I thought I read somewehere Aunt May already knows. Jameson, on the other hand... I did a little research...yeah apparently Aunt May does know...I wish I could have seen that issue. She walked in on him wearing his Spider costume. The next issue she berated him for not telling her sooner, since she didn't know why Peter thought she couldn't handle it. I think this happened back in 2001.

Speaking of X-Force, it wouldn't be a bad idea to expand this discussion into "worst X-team."

That was inspired, but I have to take my hat off to the Beastie Boys reference in the Star Wars one.

Yes. I watched "Best of Both Worlds" again recently and I just wanted to slap the shit out of her the entire time. And I think Selar and Lefler were only note-worthy because of the actresses who played them. Selar because the actress came back a couple of times as different people, and Lefler because the actress later achieved chick-flick stardom.

Gee...I really wonders who they could be talking about...hmmmm....I really have no clue...trying to figure this out is going to be a real crisis...

That's just the eyeliner fading out. I'm just surprised he hasn't gotten rid of Maria yet. I figured he would be on at least 3 divas by this point. Maria's probably awesome in bed. She seems like the kind of girl who'd agree to just about anything.

Vince sees it as a potential source of revenue.

OCD a little? I'm not looking forward to wading through page after page of another long battle over evolution. http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...dpost&p=2238133

I was wondering that myself. Vince COULD have RVD throw the WWE belt down, but why crap on that legacy. He'll be double champ until he gives it back to Cena, which is why the name plate hasn't changed and RVD didn't breal off the spinner. The nameplate said "RVD".

How did I know someone was going to say this? Its been almost half a decade since 9/11. Coppolla only waited 4 years after the end of the Vietnam War to make Apocalypse Now. Casablanca was made while WW2 was still going on. Dr. Strangelove was only 2 years after the Cuban Missile Crisis (which it was loosely based on).

Evolution has been scrutinzed and tested repeatedly forthe last century and a half. Its withstood the test of scientific inquiry, and the disproven elements of the theory have been disproven by scientists who replaced it with even more compelling evidence that it is true. These "logic gaps" you speak of are figments of the Christian's right's imagination. DNA mapping alone shows the common ancestry of life on Earth, and natural selection has be proven a fact as well. There has yet to be a more credible theory presented that oberves scientific fact. The book of Genesis is a laundry list of biological impossibilities and violations of the laws of physics. We already have an evolution thread for this discussion. I suggest we revisit it if more needs to be said. Personally, I'm offended that Coulter refers to schools as churches of liberalism, given how many school boards are controlled by the Christian right. Kids ARE allowed to pray in school. Most liberals are not atheists, and objections to references to God in public are done to protect the rights of religious minorities, not to push atheism on kids. There have been schools that took the ban on school led prayer too far, but that was because of misinterpretation, not because of a liberal conspiracy to turn kids into atheists. She's also taking the one or two school districts that pass out condoms and trying to say that all schools are like that. Unless Ann's a virgin herself, I don't see how she can possibly object to schools teaching about birth control and STDs. I agree that schools shouldn't be passing out free condoms, but I totally support the notion that kids need to be told about them. Condoms prevent abortions, which Ann claims she's against. I really don't get that double standard. Conservatives who don't want abortion, also don't want kids to know about contraception! Have all of these abstinense only program actually worked? But, hey, none of that matters, because Ann gets to yell "Public schools are giving away condoms to your kids!" any time she has a problem with public education. And I doubt most liberal even know who the hell Mumia is, and I don't hear a massive uproar to free him. Hell, if it wasn't for kkktookmybabyaway (the TSM poster, not the song), I'd never even heard of the guy. Coulter is just trying to sell books by warning people about fake boogie-men. That's her modus operandi, take a few isolated incidents and blow them up to make it look like everyone who's ever voted for a Democrat endorses every letter of the most extreme liberal's agenda.
