Apparently Joe the Plumber and the McCain campaign are feuding over Joe the Plumber's campaign schedule. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/...t-mccain-event/ John McCain's campaign team will be running school board elections when this is over. "Why am I surrounded by FRICKIN' IDIOTS???" _______________________________ Oh. My. God. (no pun intended...okay, maybe a little) WHY DO THE DEMOCRATS HATE BABY JESUS?????

An idealistic, womanizing (which I also have nothing against), progressive, brilliant visionary in international relations who also happened to be a racist fuckface.

Indeed. We spent last summer debunking the correlation between experience and presidential greatness, only to have the same arguments against Obama now used against Palin. Wilson and FDR were also first term governors, but the difference is that they had first-rate minds that elevated them to greatness. I have no problem with Palin's resume, except when she tries to embellish it with false claims and bullshit logic. Her resume is not the problem...her mediocre brain is the problem. It is hard to defend the selection of Biden, considering he is the opposite of Obama's message, but I do like a lot of his foriegn policy ideas. Too bad he can't stop saying stupid things long enough to talk about them. Yeah, I'll admit it. Both VP picks could have been better.

Barack Obama should not be president because apparently every professor at the University of Chicago hates America. Yeah, let's just keep pushing this stupid shit nobody cares about, not because it works, but because it makes Palin look good to the "base" for her 2012 run.

I guess Franken's status as a Harvard Fellow, best-selling political author, and long-time activist shouldn't be given as much weight as the fact he wrote and "Theodoric of York, Medieval Barber." Personally, my problem with Sarah Palin isn't that she's a governor, its that she has lied about every accomplishment and she isn't familiar with any political issue except those that directly effect her state. Defend Palin's resume all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that she lacks the requisite knowledge about government and national issues to competently teach middle school civics, let alone be a competent VP.

Yeah, but he's not as washed up as THESE fuckers...

http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/sprinttothe...-threesome.aspx Are the speechwriters so bored now they're just handing him gag-speeches just to see if he'll read them?

Barney Frank is just chomping at the bit to tax all of us. The plan is eventually to get every household that makes more than $42K, take money off the top of that and pass it on to the folks who don't pay taxes. And while Obama may not support same-sex marriage on a national level, Congressman Frank does and will no doubt be someone to push that. I like that post. You should post more.

Actually he said "it's safe to assume," which it certainly is not. McCain is trying to make an ass out of you and me.

Does this count as "firing up the base"? ____________________________________ In fairness to Mrs. Palin, she is making a legitimate political argument that is in no way racist, so it is not like she incited the slur, and there's no way of knowing if she even heard the woman who did yell it out (though I don't see how she couldn't if the CNN microphone picked it up).

What are the chances that the Alaskans will re-elect him anyways, knowing that Palin will probably just appoint herself to the vacant seat after the sentencing?

It will be interesting to see what happens to Joe Lieberman after this election. After endorsing and campaigning for McCain, a lot of Democrats want him punished by taking away his committee chairmanship, and kicking him out of the Democratic caucus. The only reason that hasn't already happened is that without him, the Democrats would be in the minority, but the margin probably won't be so thin after the election and he can be purged. However, he may still be useful to the Democrats if they need his vote to get a 60 member fillibuster-proof super-majority.

Unanswered questions I have... Since Betty told Don, I assume she's keeping the baby and staying married? Shouldn't Pete and Trudy somehow adopt Pete and Peggy's son? Since it was a merger, does that mean the 4 partners still own part of the company, just a smaller portion...wouldn't that make Draper (even as a minority shareholder) still part of the company, even if he isn't head of creative? Is Duck finished, and if so, who will be the new president? TUNE IN...8 MONTHS FROM NOW, JERKS!!!!

At least voting against someone who always wins gives you the satisfaction of saying, "Hey, I didn't vote for that idiot" when he inevitably fucks something up. And I say that as someone who has a 12-year streak of being able to say "Don't blame me, I voted for ___________" that's about to end. edit: You could argue my vote for Nader helped elect Bush to his first term, and that might be a reason to blame me.
-
The thing about voting is that there's always another issue and always another election. For example, no one I've ever voted for for president has ever won, but my congressional choices usually do.

I don't think a lot of kids under 12 went to see Saw 5.

I thought the NYC mayor election wasn't for another year? And he's not a Republican anymore, so does he even need to win a primary to get on the ballot? I'd assume the Democrats and Republicans are going to go ahead and field their own candidates for mayor. Maybe, with the term limits repealed, Guiliani will run again...or is he planning a run against Schumer or Patterson in 2010? Yeah, its sad, but I know more about NY politics than my own city and state. Its funny to me that my congressman is a former mayor of K.C., and because the city is spread out over parts of 2 separate Congressional districts, the mayor who came after him is running for Congress in the district immediately north of mine. I'm sure, because there are so many districts within NYC city limits, running for the U.S. House would be considered a demotion for a NYC mayor.

Anyone care to speculate on the 1000 unanswered questioned left after tonight's season finale? Or did anyone even watch?

I'm sure a lot of people are waiting to see HSM3 until it comes out on DVD or gets aired on the Disney Channel 500 million times...like most people did with HSM and HSM2.

You'd think you guys would get a big discount, since so much of it is coming out of your land and all.

State legislators are a lot like small town mayors, except they have actual responsibilities.
