Too bad they couldn't put together a defense of that end of it, since that IS part of what they were trying to defend.

The point was that I tuned in specifically to see her, despite the fact that she's what was mostly pulling the show down. Actually, except the guy in the wheelchair, I pretty much hated all the characters.

I liked the show, but I think they figured they gave us one great moment in Myers/Kanye and decided to dog it the rest of the show. Kevin Nealon was a featured player in 86-87. So overall he lasted 9 seasons, 8 as a cast member. Tim Meadows was a featured player from 91-93. So he lasted 9 seasons, 7 as a castmember. Darrell's been a castmember all 11 years. Al Franken has also been a featured player on and off for a while. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't really think being billed as a "featured player" means you don't get to count that as a year you were in the cast, provided you appeared in every show.

There's a chance that Raw might be better on USA if only because they might actually feel the need to put effort into the product again, now that they're out of excuses for failing.

That's not really a valid analogy. A valid analogy would be if you sold a house knowing that it had major problems with it and did not disclose them (which IS illegal).

Wait...a Wikipedia article...not cited by me???? I call gimmick infringment!

http://www.fbi.gov/filelink.html?file=/ucr...xl/03tbl2-5.xls Apparently the FBI doesn't keep stats on Welshmen, left-handed people, or fat people. However, it DOES keep stats on black people. Bennett was not advocating aborting black babies (as originally reported). He was actually arguing the opposite. Bennett's only crime here is pointing out that a LOT of crimes are committed by black people. He did NOT say that most black people are criminals. He did NOT say that only black people are criminals. 5,729 murders were committed by African-Americans in 2003. That's a lot. Admitting this does not make you a racist. ________________ I find this disturbing: http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/30/bennett.comments/ Congress condemning a private citizen for expressing an opinion is one step away from government censorship. We cannot possibly solve America's social problems if everytime someone says something honest about the state of African-Americans, they are condemned by the government for doing it. ________________ I actually agree with Mike for once.

I can't say there is definitive proof that religion CAUSES social decay, but this statement: is undisputable. Being non-religious is NOT harmful to society. Excellent counter-argument. You've totally convinced me. Praise Jesus.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. The appeal of the movie is how hot Jessica Alba is... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My confusion was over why that appeal would end after her first scene. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Once you see her in a bikini once, it doesn't have the same appeal when Paul Walker and her are allowed to talk. Unless you are a 13 yr old boy, which I'm pretty sure this film was made for. So maybe it does appeal to the core audience: guys obsessed with Alba and boys who've never been to the beach <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see your point, however, I must admit I sat through the entire first season of "Dark Angel" for this woman. My tolerance of her bad acting is a little higher than yours.

^I just got it.^ Im so obsessed with HD cause I've got an HDTV. If you had one, you'd be clawing at the bit to watch stuff..anything.. in HD. I watch freaking bears shitting in the woods on Discovery HD Theatre cause its in HD. I dont normally watch SNL (used to watch it .. at least 10 years ago..) but cause its in HD..I figured I'd watch it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Speaking as someone who pays an extra $11 a month for 6 extra channels (I <3 DirecTV ), I agree. After you've watched TV in HD for a couple of weeks, you can't go back. Its like asking a DVD collector to go back to watching VHS tapes.

Alledgedly, Gellar started Buffy already knowing some Tae Kwon Do.

Does that mean he beats Kevin Nealon for longest tenure? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I woulda geussed Tim Meadows had that distinction... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think Nealon only came in halfway through the 1986-87 season, whereas Meadows started the 1991 season at the beginning of the year.

Welfare capitalism. -
Statistically, aborting EITHER population would curb the crime rate.

Apparently you didn't follow politics back in 1995. There was actually talk of a Quayle/Powell ticket for a while. No, really. Quayle, Bob Dole, and Phil Gramm were considered the early frontrunners for the 1996 nomination, when the media wasn't hyping the Colin Powell run that never happened. And yes, my whole premise was that political pundits in the media are kind of stupid.

Czech lack of knowledge about the business world doesn't surprise me.

Wait...this show quit being about Lana and Lex and became about SUPERMAN? Thursday nights has become too crowded.

I've sat in on episodes while my wife watched it. I found the storylines to be fairly original but lord-help-me if I wasn't ready to jump through the TV and murder the actress playing the narrator. Imagine making a cherry pie, and then pouring kerosene all over it. That's what the narrator does to this show. I've wanted to fuck Terri Hatcher for the last 12 years. I don't see than impulse going away any time soon.

By the way . Sonny Corleone style.

Cinderella Man was a great movie for people who like one dimensionial characters and a constant bombardment of movie cliches. Not that I'm naming any names.

I find it amusing that CNN's got a chart denoting which people voting against him might be running for president, as if people who give a shit about this don't already know who conventional wisdom says the potential candidates are. Let me just point out that 4 years ago, everyone was saying the 2004 Democratic nominee would either be Gore, Liebermann, or Hillary Clinton. The media has a long history of being wrong about who the candidates will be. Mario Cuomo, Colin Powell, and Dan Quayle can all verify this.

Judge Orders Abu Ghraib Photos released
SuperJerk replied to CheesalaIsGood's topic in Current Events
What are you pissing and moaning about now? The Democrats WILL exploit this for political gain, and the photos will be used as propaganda to drum up support in the Arab world for Islamic terrorists. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And here I thought you LIKED IT when Americans tortured people. -

I don't even want to know what they say about The Giving Tree. I don't know about socialism, but it does kind of send the message that you have to be like everybody else to be accepted, that if you're better than everyone else, you run the risk of being ostracized for your superiority, be it real or imagined. I think the intended message was probably more along the lines of "share your Koala Yummies with your table partners at snack time" rather than "conform or be cast out;" we're all just over-analyzing a children's book, probably. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. My point, though, was to challenge this ignorant woman's abuse of the word socialism. Actually, I'm fairly irritated, in general, by certain people's total ignorance about what socialism actually is. Sharing is not socialism. Conforming is not socialism. Government control of industry is socialism.
