Rachel Caspian (a woman who Bruce Wayne once proposed to who's father died) later became the Reaper in 1991's "Batman: Full Circle", while Andrea Beaumont (a woman who Bruce Wayne once proposed to who's father was murdered) became the Phantasm.The subplot of Wayne choosing love over crime-fighting only to eventually loose the girl and go back to crime fighting are the same in both "Year 2" and MOTP. The similarities are very striking, but I had to go back and look at Year 2 to see the differences. I actually saw MOTP before I read "Year 2", and couldn't help but notice the strong parrallels when I finally read it. As long as I'm on the subject...looking through the "Year 2" trade really showed me what a hack Todd McFarlane is (I don't think McFarlane improved much in the years after "Year 2" was published). Alan Davis's art trumps McFarlane's in every way, and yet, which is the fan favorite millionaire?

Anybody know what the deal was with the multiple cast changes the first season? I understand the bailiffs kept dying, but weren't there about a few dozen defense attorneys before they finally settled on Markie Post. (I actually kind of liked Billie.)

You're not alone, and I think it's better overall than Begins, but since Timm/Dini and crew borrowed a lot from Year One, they don't deserve *full* credit. They'd probably be comfortable with doing commentary since they've already done commentary tracks on the box sets. Y2 was out of print for a while but I see that apparently it's available again. A comedy doesn't need to be good, it just needs to be funny.

Its weird watching this show now. This show was probably responsible for the "squeeze as many dirty jokes as you can into 30 minutes" genre that later spawned "Married with Children" and "Friends", but it all seems pretty pedestrian now. Nonetheless, Dan Fielding was TV's original sitcom pimp. Still, Markie Post's inherent hotness was severely under-utilized. Despite her awesome (at the time) body, they managed to bury her under 3 layers of ugly fashions and 4 gallons of hairspray each week.

And inversely, DVD was responsible for ushering most first generation PS2s into the repair shop. This whole thing reminds me of how everytime for the last 5 years I've gone to buy a new TV the salesperson tries to tell me that FCC has mandated that all broadcasting must be HD (which to my knowledge is a boldface lie) and I might as well get a jump on the new trend by getting an HD unit. That is, of course, until I actually did try to by an HD unti and I couldn't get a saelsman to give me the time of day because they were all too busy chasing after the customer who only LOOKED like he wanted to by something...the bastards. And for the record, 480i in anamorphic widescreen still looks pretty damn good.

The movie should be low budget enough it won't be that hard to show enough of a profit to justify a sequel. I mean, come on, there have been HOW MANY Star Trek movies? Its still hillarious to me that the average "Firefly" episode was more impressive visually than a lot of the feature films that cost over $100 million.

Yeah, but its Power Girl, and her whole gimmick is she has giant boobs. I'm guessing Power Girl and Supergirl are somehow a big part if Infinite Crisis, given the wierdness going on in JSA Classified and the new Supergirl's book.

People who keep asking for Special Editions need to just be glad your fucking movies are even available at all. All requests for Special Editions, box sets, and anamorphic widescreen transfers with 5.1 surround-sound need to be put on hold until the stop-motion animation masterpeice The Wizard of Speed and Time is finally available for DVD purchase!

The reason the "debate" has raged so long is because one side is unwilling to acknowledge the validity of proven facts. The creationist argument (God created human life instaneously and the world is less than 10,000 year old) has zero hard info to back it up. The creationists are so devoid of anything rational to contribute to the conversation that I'm hessitant to call it a debate. Its more like one side trying to show where the provable facts lead them, and the other side sticking there fingers in their ears while shouting "God is on my side!" over and over again.

Thousands of innocent Iraqis and Afganis have already been punished for the actions of a guilty few. I'm not saying we should do nothing, but we need to be cautious. The "take no prisoners" attitude amongst many Americans is not compatible with protecting innocent people who have nothing to do with terrorism. There are innocent people at Gitmo, and there have been innocent people captured or killed in Iraq and Afganistan. We need to be cautious not to include too many innocent people when we protect ourselves from terrorism.

Evolution doesn't disprove God. It doesn't even try to. If anything, it explains how God created humans. Evolution only disproves the literal understanding of the book of Genesis. That's not much of an accomplishment, though. The creation story from Genesis could already be easily disproven with some basic knowledge of physics, astronomy and geology. Because a bunch of religious fanatics want to use publicly funded government agencies to promote their religious views.
