But it does kind of speak ill of Marvel that their big summer cross-over event is YET ANOTHER alternate universe story, because good lord we haven't seen enough of those in the last 10 years.

Why even have anyone return at all if they're not going to take full advantage of it? I don't think anybody's sitting at home saying, "I'm going to watch Raw tonight because they might have a surprise guest." I think people still assume that the big matches, like Flair vs. Angle, are going to be hyped ahead of time.

Raw Ratings http://411mania.com/wrestling/news/newsboa...p?news_id=12093 Dear WWE, Viewers are not psychic. They have no way ahead of time to know to tune in for some exciting stuff if you don't tell them. Maybe if you fuckers would advertise what people would be on the show, you'd get a better rating. In the last few weeks you sprung us with Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, and Matt Hardy, not to mention an unadvertised match between Ric Flair and Kurt Angle. The only time you gave us any warning was the week AFTER Hulk Hogan actually returned, and all you told us was to tune in to watch him be interviewed on the 4th of July. What else have you asked viewers to tune in for? The Diva Search and a Kane/Edge rematch. Yawn. As it stands right now, you're not capitalizing on your product's strenghts. Please pull your colelctive heads out of your asses and recognize your marketing strategy is counter-productive. Sincerely, Y2Jerk P.S. Please continue to keep Triple H off of TV. The low ratings are NOT an indication he should return, although I'm sure when he does you'll hype the hell out of it.

I know you don't agree that the segment was in bad taste, but are you trying to play the angle off as a run of the mill heel faction beatdown? If so, you're showing a supreme ignorance of current events.

That makes up for two weeks without any matches at all, doesn't it?

The OAO Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Thread

Depp as Wonka reminds me of Michael Jackson for some reason. -
I bought a 52" HD projection screen TV yesterday at Best Buy for $999. I seems like a good deal, considering the interest rate they're offering this week. At the store though, they mentioned the high risk of images, such as from video games or bars on the side of the screen, burning into the screen. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Should I just leave all my video games hoked up to my old TV? Do the black bars from extra-wide screen movies pose a risk?

WHEN MIDCARD JOBBERS COLLIDE~!

I know that, but my point remains the same. A network shouldn't have say over the creative direction of the show, as long as the producers are keeping the stuff toned down. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Historically, network executives have gotten script approval over shows on their network.

Directions For Seemingly Directionalless Wrestlers

People in the audience...people watching at home... -
Okay...new problem: I'm not sure if its because the air conditioning in my house is running or what, but my screen's been showing a lot of lines and has been shaking a bit. I also thought this might be the connection, but its doing it on every input source. It doesn't do it 100% of the time, but enough to annoy me. I should probably just have them come out and look at it, but I'm afraid they'll be all "We don't see anything wrong with it". Is there something I can do to fix this, or is it definitely time to call the repair man?

That's a good point. I would think a good way to fight terrorism would be to expose terrorist leaders as being people who exploit fundamentalist paranoia for their own personal power. I can't believe that terrorism would be a continuing phenomena unless someone was gaining something from it. Someone is fanning the flames. Take THEM out, educate the populace in how to govern itself, and maybe the killing will stop.

I can't argue with that. -

The OAO Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Thread

Its not like the people who wrote the script for the movie got the idea from some extra pages Roald Dahl wrote but didn't use. The reason it wasn't in the book was because the guy who wrote the book didn't think of it. -

Yea but it came out of nowhere and was out of character for him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But he wasn't really mad at him, though. He still planned on turning the factory over to Charlie, but he was testing the kid to see how bad he really wanted it. -
Gotcha.

Yes, because a woman's only purpose in life is to service her man. If he got bored with her that quickly (they've only been married since last October), its his problem, not hers.

Funny how this story just fell off the face of the Earth. Here's an interview I found wehre Morgan talks about the cuts, and about Jim Cornette. http://411mania.com/wrestling/news/newsboa...p?news_id=12086

Here's what your source had to say about deficit spending: Doesn't that contradict your position? Well yes, I know this. That's why I'm concerned that our current economic growth is based on the short-term fix of deficit spending. But isn't government spending on war materials for WW2 given credit for ending the Depression? Isn't that a sign of the positive effects of deficit spending on economic growth? (Although there were rough economic times in the late 1940s, of course.) What about increased government spending in the defense industry. Surely that impacted the computer industry, as well as creating factory jobs? Some have even suggested that the decrease of governemnt spending on defense in the late 1980s and early 1990s was the cause of the recession of that period. Please don't think I'm trying to debate you on this. I'm merely trying to reconcile your replies with what I already I know about deficit spending.

This part cracks me up: Bitch, you lied about a damn shooting! Your biggest claims to fame are your boobs and how much you like to suck dick!

The sad part is that some of the regular book that aren't affiliated with the X-Men are actually pretty good. They just neve get any publicity because everythings OMG BIG X-CROSSOVER all the damn time.

It also featured the first appearance of the Super Slayer Axe that Buffy used in the last few eps of Season 7. I bought all the issues when they were published, but the 8 part series is available as a trade paperback.
