Brian Gewirtz leaves WWE writing team
SuperJerk replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I thought The Rock came up with that on The Rock's own. -
I didn't mean LITERALLY "forget about", I meant "forget about ever wanting to be with".

Given the criteria you laid out, shouldn't that say Legacy vs. Employment? If I was Matt, I'd be more likely to hold a grudge because it got him fired (seriosuly jeopardizing his career), than because he lost a no-good girlfriend he'll forget about in a few years.

Given that there's a segment of the audience that cheers for Angle whether he's a heel or not, and given there's a deeply deluded segment of the audience that cheers for Triple H, neither guy shuld have to turn in order for a feud to work. Both guys make crappy babyfaces anyways.

I still think some of the belt's value would come back just by getting it off of him and onto someone talented. Whether Benoit is the one to do it or not, the belt SHOULD BE elevated.
-
I'd argue that both Orton and Benjamin's lengthy IC runs help that title regain quite a bit of its prestige. RVD elevated the Hardcore belt so high the Undertaker decided he wanted to hold it.
-
Putting any belt on the right guy can do wonders for its credibility. Remember RVD and the Hardcore title? Benoit isn't a main-eventer any more. With the exceptions of Carlito and Jordan, the US Title has been consistently held by upper-midcarders since it was resurrected. Cena, Booker, Big Show, Eddie...these are the people who've held the belt most of the time since it came back.
-
Indeed. 2002 was probably the most fucked up year in WWE history.
-
My whole argument was that Benoit would elevate the title. The only reason the US Title is in bad shape is they put it on Orlando Jordan. Once its off of him, problem solved.
-
I've got a sick feeling it'll end up being Cena vs. Edge vs. Hulk Hogan at Summerslam. No way a top face vs. HBK match would ever occur on Raw without HHH interfering (judging from the last two times it was tried).
-
My thoughts exactly. That'd totally elevate the US belt, and the show would certainly benefit from actually having talented performers feuding for it. A perfect set up would be after beating Jordan for the US Title (their feud was already set up with Benoit's attack on him during the JBL/Taker match a few weeks ago), JBL gets offended because Benoit isn't actual from the US and shouldn't be US Champ.

Triple H vs. Big Show, with HHH winning the feud.

It's tilted as far right as this one is left. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most of the conservatives just kind of gave up after the Mike incident. Wimps.

I thought you were from Puerto Rico. That makes you an American citizen.

Let's hope playing Blu-Ray disks on the PS3 doesn't have the same effect on the machine that playing DVDs on the PS2 does.

What about an unarmed Darth Maul vs. Batman (with utility belt)?
-
NO! I'm saying Independence Day ripped off Return of the Jedi.
-
If I'm remembering correctly, Boys of Company C also had the bald Jesus reference.
-
Or the movie it ripped its ending off from, Return of the Jedi.

Xenophobia is a form of bigotry, is it not?

Isn't there a discrepancy between who actually watches wrestling (I'm thinking men in their late 20s and early 30s, based on some reports), and who the ads are aimed at (teenagers)?

I lost all interest in buying the PPV the second they announced the WWE "invasion" would be taking place. Suddenly it went from being "ECW One Night Stand" to "ECW Presents the Stars of Raw and Smackdown". I'm just one guy, but that's the reason I didn't order it.
