OAO Raw Thread (6-20-05): Angle v. Some Big Guy
SuperJerk replied to AndrewTS's topic in The WWE Folder
It seems as though (once again) the main qualifying attribute these women need to possess is the ability to hit on Coach as seem convincing. -

Even if it didn't, there were LOTS of WWE title matches on Raw in 2002. Jim Ross has replaced "Cheers" character Cliff Claven to become master of the factually incorrect trivia. -

*comes back in 2 weeks, wheelchair-bound, managing Alexis Lauree and a rehired Molly to kick Victoria's ass* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They could call the angle "Birds of Ghey". -

That's a good point. Hemme's really gone beyond expectations. The only other Diva Search person who come close to her level of trying to really learn the business (as opposed to just collecting a check) is Michelle McCool. -

Yeah, like we won't get enough shots of bad boob jobs during the diva search <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Personally, I think Lita's plastic surgeon did a helluva job. They don't look nearly as fake as Trish's. -

Excusable. You have to kind of expect them to not to take any chances by slamming the old guy's head too closely to the mat. -

You got to admit...chant or not...the crowd's getting their money's worth tonight. -
First of all, although I'm actually of the opinion that Communism is a harmful concept, it must be noted that Marx was not an actual advocate of Communism, but was making a (flawed) prediction based on his interpretation of history. In other words, Marx was not a Marxist. Second, the reason capitalism has never existed in its purist form is because of trade restrictions put into place during the 19th and 20th centuries. Before the Progressive era of the early 20th century, capitalism was responsible for such deplorable practices as child labor and 16 hour works days. These things would not have been changed by the existence of free trade (if anything, they'd have been made worse). There's a reason why pure capitalism has never existed.

Fook, AOTC was filmed 5 years ago, in 2000. People are overreacting. Here's what the article actually said about it: link to the real article http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2005-0...star-wars_x.htm -
^"Hey, remember that time we got locked in the freezer?"^ I was about to say the same thing when I saw you're post. Wasn't that episode of "Newhart" where the maid's boyfriend gave her her own sitcom on his TV station?

I wish Katie Holmes wasn't in this movie. I'm sick of hack entertainment reporters using Batman as a segue to start talking about her "relationship" with Tom Cruise. I really hope they break up before "War of the Worlds" comes out.

Except he's not Catholic.

That's a very astute observation.

The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......

Whu??? She was blind too? Wasn't part of the argument that her idiot family was making based on the way she looked at them or something? -
Jesse sued the WWF back in 94 for royalties from videotapes. He is the only announcer with the guts to claim his voice and try to get paid. The agreement in the case said they can use his voice, so long as the matches he commented on had already been released on video (so anything on coliseum home video I'd asumme). by the wwf/e. That's why anything from WCW is off-limits, as Vicne is too cheap to throw Jesse some more cash. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't get the rationale of how he can make a claim on that, unless video royalties were part of his original contract...probably something having to do with residual payments...?

I don't remember anyone posting this information before, though. After seeing him on that show last week, I wanted to share what I heard him say first hand.

I wonder if all the people you see with Che shirts even realize their not really wearing actual "Rage Against the Machine" licenced t-shirts.

I'll agree that O'Connor usually only gets clumped with the conservatives because of who appointed her, but the other two I mentioned have unquestioned Conservative credintials.

I didn't "bump" the thread for the sake of bumping it. I bumped it because I had new information to contribute.

Sounds like something Marvel did a few years back with the X-Men, following an apparent death of Cyclops and had Rogue and Gambit leading 2 separate teams of X-Men. It sucked, but hopefully DC can learn from their mistakes make a real go of this.

The contract is now down Lita's pants, where no one wants to go anymore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With Lita around, maybe they thought Edge didn't need two props? -
They had an interview on the PBS program "Now" last Friday with former Alabama Judge Roy Moore, who had refused to have the Ten Commandments removed. Contrary to the reasonable position that the Commandments could be displayed for cultural or historic reason, Moore went a different direction with his rationale. He took the position that America is a nation founded on Christian values (which is, of course, total bullshit) and that the US government officially aknowledged not just God, but the Judeo-Christian God in the Declaration of Indepedence. He also insisted that all law flows from the First Commandment, "Thou shall have no other God before me" because all morality comes from God. So, basically, this confirms what I was saying all along. People who insist that the Ten Commandments should be displayed by the government really do want to impose their religous views on the rest of us.
