I compare the state of Texas's discriminatory anti-gay legislation to early discriminatory anti-Jew legislation in Nazi Germany, and everyone lines up to jump on me and tell me what a colossal idiot I am. Mike calls the second largest religion in the world a "death cult" and all he gets are a couple of moderately worded replies. Fuck this shit.

And now its time for my weekly request for someone to get Mike a dictionary. facetious Audio pronunciation of "facetious" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (f-sshs) adj. Playfully jocular; humorous: facetious remarks. Seems insanely appropriate. -=Mike Except I wasn't being playfully jocular or humorous, dumb ass. -

And now its time for my weekly request for someone to get Mike a dictionary. I'm actually surprised. I figured I could at least bait a few homophobes into a heated argument....before the inevitable pointless argument with the Mikester. I see that I'm going to get heat for my Nazi comparison until the end of time. Yeah, how dare I compare a government which passes one set of laws designed to control an imaginary threat as part of a wave of other legal actions against said group at a time when politicians are using socially acceptable open hatred of said group as a means to power to another government which passes laws designed to control an imaginary threat as part of a wave of other legal actions against said group at a time when politicians are using socially acceptable open hatred of as a means to power. Of course there's no comparison whatsoever. -
How cool would it have been if they'd announced the draft the week after WM, and then held it at Monday's MSG tapings?

WWE Uncomfortable with Batista as Champion

In Trip's mind, when he went from leather jackets and jeans as "The Game and I'm That Damn Good" to wearing suits as "the Fifth Horseman" probably constitutes a gimmick change. -
Welcome to bizarro world. 3000th post, bitches!!!!!

I don't think he's actually the head booker. HHH apparantly considers HitC to be "his" match. But I don't know why. The only really memorable one he was in was with Foley, and that was memorable because it was Foley's last match...for about a month. Dang, not to bring the Triple H hate, but Undertaker defintely owns the gimmick. His HIAC with Brock I like better than any of Triple H's, plus he has the Foley one with the famous bump and the HBK one. Taker's HBK HIAC trumps HHH's with HBK big time as well. I think they abandoned the HIAC being Taker's official gimmick match when he lost to Brock.

You know, if I hadn't included that Nazi comparison, this thread might have only made it half a page. That seems to be the only thing anyone wants to talk about. But yes, I'm really afraid that the bigotry against gays is close to reaching Nuremberg Law proportions. -
Traditionally, the Republicans nominate whichever candidate has the highest profile... ...it doesn't sound like anyone nationally famous will even run. Interesting.

I'm going from the words of Muslim leaders. -=Mike ...The "martyrs" that the cult lavishes praise upon are not a media creation... What Muslim leaders? Leaders of extremists sects within the Islamic faith, or the overall views of the majority of that religion's mainstream leaders?

Couldn't being a foster parent be considered a job (since they get money for it)? Is there not other legal job discrimination against homosexuals? If my comparison is asinine, then perhaps you should consider whether you are using the word correctly. -
I think people need to quit getting all their information about Islam from action movies.

Islam is a death cult and nothing more. Okay....as if just calling it a "cult" wasn't offensive enough...what the fuck is a "death cult"?

Frist has no shot, whatsoever, of winning the nomination. None. He has demonstrated an utter lack of leadership and there is nothing he can do to correct that. I don't think being the majority leader helped him --- but he would be an utter no-name if he wasn't and, thus, would have no shot then, either. I honestly believe that neither party will nominate a Senator anytime in the near future. -=Mike I know you've pushed for C. Rice in the past, but in the event she does not choose to run, do you have a probable alternative?

File this under: Duh, but we're going to ignore it

That's not the same thing as saying it was the "best we ever had". As far as the deficit not being a concern during times of booming growth, I'm not interested as to whether not it actually a concern or not at the time, but the debt (the total accumulated deficits from 1981-1989) amassed during that time is certainly a concern for us now, since the money we use to service it could be better used for other things. -
Okay, Mike, all bickering aside, I want your honest opinion on something... Does being Senate majority leader help or hurt Frist's chances of becoming Republican nominee in 2008, especially if his term ends in 2007?

Not true. LBJ and Carter created bigger and bigger deficits (Also consider what they would be adjusted, as well) Way to ignore the chart. **applauds** For reference, Johnson's term ended in 1969, and Carter's ended in 1981 (yes, there was a spike at the end of the Carter term due to inflation, but for the most past the deficit declined while he was in office). Everything else you said in that paragraph was Reagan apologist bullshit. (Reagan's economy was the best we ever had? That's a total load of crap.) I can't argue with this, but unfortunately the current administration seems to be oblivious to the greater neccesity we have today. -
They have no use for anyone who's Black and happens to be conservative. Clarence Thomas? Dr. Rice? "Uncle Toms." When has anyone in the NAACP ever called a black conservative an "Uncle Tom"? Harry Belafonte and Ted Rall ain't the NAACP. Did you forget when the NAACP denounced the "Aunt Jemima" thing and actually did the absolute opposite of what you suggest? Another thing that needs to be added is that the NAACP hates Justice Thomas because he tried to help repeal affirmative action. I've never heard anyone associated with the group say anything negative about Dr. Rice. Are critics of the NAACP actually arguing that they shouldn't oppose people they disagree with just because they're black? That's ridicules.

Regardless, Islam is not a cult. You defended Coulter's putting the Branch Davidians in a category of people who'd been wronged by the government.

It took Clinton winning for the Republicans to get their act together and get serious about deficit reduction back in 1993. During both the 1980s and today, they could've cared less. Actually, Republicans were in power during the surplus. In this case, "out of power" is a euphemism for controling the executive branch (where most of the power is). Congress can't do anything substantial without the President's approval. The President would, therefore, have to approve of those deficits in order for them to come into existence. Please notice the correlation between Republican presidents and growing deficits. Please also note the correlation between growing deficits and tax cuts. -

Of course deficits are bad, but Republicans only care about it when they're out of power. -
Congratualtions on basing your entire opinion of a religion on the actions of a few extremists. edit: That's the nice version. "A few extremists"? Try the majority of the cult's leadership. But I'm sure that you can normally find them killing somebody in the name of their joke of a deity every single day by sheer coincidence. A more useless cult has yet to exist. So, Muslims and environmentalists are cults, but yet you defended the Branch Davidians? Shameless.

And when it is, you'll have a bunch of conservatives whining about how liberal courts subvert the WILL OF THE PEOPLE~! Speaking of Will of the People: credit: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,154075,00.html An actual state legislature (not a judge) has okayed civil unions (not marriage). I wonder what justification the Conservatives will use to whine about it...
