I already gave my opinion of him, and I'm sad to hear of his passing. You didn't have to agree with him on everything to admire his dedication to world peace and ending human suffering.

That comparison makes no sense. Maybe I should have said: Imagine if they made a movie about Isaac Newton, but people objected because the actor didn't like math. My point is that its silly to expect an actor playing a part to have anything in common with the person they're playing (except possibly for major physical characteristics).

Sweet Jesus is this show ever awesome! I'm sick of people I know telling me they don't like it because its not just like the original, as if the original wasn't a steaming pile of crap (cheezy fun, I'll admit, but still crap). This show is simply the best sci-fi show of the last ten years (Farscape and Firefly being behind, of course).

If we were going to cut those programs in an across-the-board effort to balance the budget, that'd be one thing. But to cut them out INSTEAD OF cancelling a tax cut? No thanks. I'm not going to completely take away health coverage from the poor and the elderly just so we can owe a few less dollars on April 15th. Then why don't people like you, and richies like Kerry, Edwards and Dean DONATE 3/4 of your salaries to the poor and elderly? What a novel idea! Because those three people by themselves don't have enough money to provide the needed services. I wouldn't have a problem with cutting funding for those programs, so long as it was part of an overall program that reduces the deficit that includes eliminating the Bush tax cut.

The fact that some else was also wrong about the number doesn't change the fact that YOU were wrong.
