What was the one angle the WWE screwed up?

Maybe I should have said to win a WWE World Championship. He didn't "give up" the WCW title, though.

What was the one angle the WWE screwed up?

His life-long quest was to become World Champion, which he did. (Technically, both titles are world championships.)

What was the one angle the WWE screwed up?

^That's a good point, but I think it worked out for the best in the end.^ Austin couldn't wrestle, though. The plan all along was for Lesnar vs. Goldberg (which could've drawn had they not screwed up the build-up by taking Goldberg off of television and inserting Austin).

What was the one angle the WWE screwed up?

Given the higher esteem the World Heavyweight Title is now held in, compared to the WWE Title, I'd say that Benoit looks to have made the right choice.

Triple H is undeserving and a failure as champion. Duh.

What was the one angle the WWE screwed up?

As was already said, Benoit had an existing storyline in effect with Lesnar and they dropped it midstream when it was going fine. The Bret/Shawn connection was never played up by the announcers at all, really. Eddy didn't have a world title storyline in place already, and Eddy was already proving he could draw in many markets, so HHH/Eddy would have been a money feud for WM, even more so than HHH/HBK/Benoit was. Had Benoit won the title at No Way Out, who'd he have faced at Mania? Angle for the 8764th time?
  7. That thing that Flair hosted last year was the Greatest Matches of Wrestlemania, not Great Matches of the Year.

What was the one angle the WWE screwed up?

They did it because they wanted to give Eddie the WWE Title and HHH didn't have a legit opponent for Wrestlemania. In the end, it worked overall, despite all of our bitching at the time. Is there really any question that the Orton/HHH feud was the one most screwed up this year? They messed that up so bad they'll be paying for it into Wrestlemania 21.

Obviously, we give this more thought than they do.

I still say JBL's gimmick would've been better suited for the US Championship. Its a great gimmick, but only by midcard comedy standards.
  12. Aw yes, the old "Use an insane gimmick to mask the fact both guys suck horribly in the ring" trick. Otherwise known as the classic WWE main event.

    Triple H on Conan O'Brien

If I was married to Torrie, I would neither want nor need a TV in my bedroom.

Where does this leave the US title then? If that were the case, they'd have included The Rock, since it officially became a WWE title the night after Survivor Series 2001. The Rock and Chris Jericho's world title wins are recognized in the RVD / HHH Unforgiven build-up video. "You know what, Triple H, you and I definitely are on the same page, man I agree with you a hundred percent. And, that's what I've always said about you, you know what I mean - you say what's on your mind - I mean, that's what I said when I first got here, if I would have been able to sign you to Nitro way back when, hell, I would - I KNOW we would have won the Monday night wars. No doubt in my mind. I mean, you kick ass - man, you- you- you- you just take control of the situation, you've been kickin' ass here in WWE longer than...than almost anybody! Your accolades here in the WWE are, are unbelievable, but you know what? They're about to become even bigger." Bischoff goes for his briefcase, and opens it to reveal...the Big Gold Belt. "Triple H - you may recognise this world championship, because you were the last man to officially wear it. It's been worn by some of the greatest champions in the history of this industry - and now, Triple H, it will be again - because ladies and gentlemen, your NEW WORLD CHAMPION...TRIPLLLLLLLLLLLLLE H!" - Eric Bischoff, September 2nd, 2002 If that doesn't recognize the belt's lineage than I don't know what does. I agree with your reasoning 100%, but the WWE gets the final say, and according to them, its a new belt. Huh? The reason people thought the World Heavyweight Championship was the WCW belt was because the WWE said it was the first month it was brought back (that night Bischoff brought it back, at Unforgiven 2002, and on a Confidential feature). No claim was ever made about the Smackdown WWE Tag Titles, which were always said to be "brand new" and "first ever".

No, I meant the "humorous" commericals they film months in advanced that never actually mention the card.

Since this is just the first commerical to let people know its coming up, you need to do something wacky to get people's attention. This probably won't be as well remembered as... ...shit, I actually got to think about some of the other wachy PPV commericals they've done. (My favorite's probably the one where Kane went to Pete Rose's house for Halloween one year for No Mercy.)

    Recognized WWE Matches

Submissions Only Match. Hair vs. Hair. Street Fight (technically the same as a hardcore match, though) Would 3 Stages of Hell be considered different than a regular Two-out-of-three Falls Match?
