I could see her going to DC as a Senator if the VP thing doesnt work out. I can see her challenging Lisa Murkowski in the 2010 Republican Senate primary, or appointing herself to the Senate if Ted Stevens gets re-elected but then resigns.

The party fucking LOVES Palin, though...win or lose. I give the Republicans more credit than holding Jindal back because he's not white. And Romney made a hell of an impression on people...more so than Huckabee.
-
I'm actually gonna go ahead and predict Mike Huckabee for that one. Are we REALLY talking about 2012? That's just dumb speculation. **cough**Bobby Jindal**cough**

Someone else want to try explaining the difference between racial bigotry and party loyalty to Captain Hardheaded up there?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26803840/ And hey, maybe McCain would have 20% more votes if it weren't for party prejudice. Do you know there are some people who will not vote for another party's candidate no matter what? Holy shit, you're a moron. People CHOOSE their party, can switch parties, and there are difference between them. People who'd vote for someone or not vote for someone just because of their party are basing that decision on a choice the candidate made about who they want to be associated with. People cannot CHOOSE their race, switch races, and there are no fundamental differences between them except superficial differences in outward appearance. What race you are says nothing about your fundamental values, who you will associate with politically, or your values. For you to equate the two is an acknowledgment of some pretty fundamental ignorance on your part.

CNN finally picked up on the rape exams story. Palin's town charged women for rape exams.

Sarah Palin seems very misinformed about Iran: http://www.nysun.com/opinion/palin-on-ahma...-stopped/86311/ Someone forgot to tell Palin the leader of Iran is really Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, not President Ahmadinejad.

Obama has a PDF and just the other week published an entire book of policy ideas. What are you talking about? So you're saying that Obama is running on an extensive and specific platform of what he wants to accomplish as president? How is that "change," exactly? Every candidate does (and has done) that. I remember covering Bush/Kerry in 2004 for my college's newspaper, and that's where I went to quote platform specifics -- their campaign website. It was great fodder for 'comparison tables' that ate up page space. My concern isn't Obama's future plans. They look like what any not-so-moderate Democrat would do if given the Oval Office. I was taking issue with what he's already accomplished. From what I've seen, 'Change' and 'Hope' are just empty campaign slogans, with no depth of underlying belief. A list of popular shows/movies that I have never seen
SuperJerk replied to a topic in Television & Film
I had no idea there were so many people on TSM who lived in a cave. You know, for years, I bragged about how I had never seen The Lion King or Jurassic Park. Then I watched them and realized I was being retarded. Sometimes things are popular for a reason. ...and sometimes they're not. -
Word. This is Don Draper's world. We're just living in it.

Here's what the Trooper admitted to: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...4111&s_pos= Whether it was abuse or not (at best, its him showing horrible judgement for a law-enforcement officer), that's how it will strike the public, and that's why its a political loser for the Democrats to pursue this.
-
As of right now, this looks less like Watergate, and more like Whitewater. Based on the original crimes, burglary of your oppenent's office to look for dirt and firing a public official over a child abuser fired aren't even in the same ballpark. We got bigger things to worry about right now: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26803840/
-
Politically, this is a loser for Democrats because, even though there might have been a cover-up and this investigation pre-dates Palin's nomination as VP, there's a strong case to be made that the Public Safety Commisioner was pushed out for other reasons. And, like Jingus said, the guy at the heart of the controversy was hardly a model citizen (the tazer incident being exhibit A). The Democrats will end up looking like their protecting a child-abuser. This scandal is all smoke and no fire. I'm also annoyed with all the dirt being dug up on Palin's church and its pastors. I thought it was a low thing to do when it was done to Obama, and it doesn't stop being a low thing to do when its done to Palin. I don't think the Democrats need scandals to win. They just need to keep pointing out what a big, dumb idiot Palin is, and what a bigger, dumber idiot McCain is.

Potential life and sentient life aren't the same thing. And the only thing those bible verses confirm is that our bodies are grown in our mother's womb, which no one is disputing.

Do you mean increase the debt to $3.5-5 trillion more than it is today, or increase it to $3.5-5 trillion more than the amount it will probably already be increasing by if we keep the current taxation and spending levels? __________________________________________________ More info on what a shitty mayor Sarah Palin was... http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/18/pal...rena/index.html __________________________________________________ Article, on the Fox News website of all places, accurately reporting on the Biden/Patriotism/Taxes "controversy". http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/18/bi...how-patriotism/ Interview with Warren Buffet from last year on NBC that reinforces the point...

Matthews was on his soapbox, and it didn't matter WHAT the guy said, he was going to make his point. But when the guy DID get a word in edge-wise, though, his answers were absolutely idiotic.

The plot thickens... In other news... JOHN MCCAIN WILL CLEAN UP WALL STREET AND ELIMINATE GREED~!!!!!!111 Also... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26743182/ This was also the woman behind the "Palin isn't fit to run a major corporation" comment. And now she's gone (reportedly). YAY!

Fox News is a business, and they're not going to keep things on the air that don't get satisfactory ratings. I don't care for their network, but they've definitely figured out how to appeal to a loyal audience. MSNBC has been pretty consistent for years with Countdown and Hardball. Whoever comes on at 9pm eastern has to compete with both H&C and Larry King Live...not an easy feat. I can't stand Situation Room, but not because of the format. I just think Wolf Blitzer is a horrible, horrible anchor. And you have Lou Dobbs, which has been on for years, but went from (I think) a show about business news to the "Xenophobic Hysteria Hour."

And the winner of the "Dumbest Thing I've Read All Day" award goes to... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26743182/ It isn't clear if Fiorina is saying that the so-called line of argument is sexist (which is bullshit), or if they're saying the skit itself is sexist (which is even more bullshit). Either way, Fiorina is shovelling bullshit at the press in an attempt to further this notion that Palin has been made a victim by the media.

Ever wonder what your name would be had Sarah Palin given birth to you? (Well, me neither, but play along, okay?) Sarah Palin Baby Name Generator http://politsk.blogspot.com/2008/09/sarah_13.html I'm Ripper Shook Palin.

Factcheck.org wrote a piece about Corsi's Obama Nation book. http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/co...ll_hatchet.html Here's some obscure info I came across the other day... http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/elec...ape-exams_N.htm Though, even as much as I despise her, I have a hard time believing Palin would support this practice. Still, the fact that it took an act of intervention from the state government to end something the police chief she appojnted supported, is puzzling.
