While O'Reilly isn't nearly the shill for the GOP that Olbermann is for the Democrats, I can't say I agree with the notion he clobbers "everyone equally." His "talking points memos" are usually just recitation of the Republican Party's conventional wisdom, and his "no-spin zone" doesn't keep him from making some ridiculous and partisan declarations.

Looks like McCain's free ride from the press has finally come to an end, and he's not happy about it.

A little backtracking by McCain... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080915/ap_on_...mccain_lipstick Oh, she's SO fired. Tucker Bounds is either a total doofus, or just keeps drawing the short straw to go out there and sell some seriously screwed up talking points.

And accepting public financing. So that's three. Its okay for a politician to change his mind when presented with new information (the second PATRIOT Act was revised from the original version for example), but I have a problem when its done specifically to court a certain type of voter. McCain changing his mind on drilling can at least be explained by citing the increase in gas prices, even though more offshore drilling won't lead to an increase in the gas supply anytime soon. McCain's change in position on Roe v. Wade, immigration, talks with Hezbollah, tax cuts, or VP qualifications? Utter bullshit pandering. Of course, neither McCain nor Obama have ANYTHING on Mitt Romney.

"Change you can taste." Oh, come on...except for the part about the Arab headdress, that's actually kind of funny. I don't really understand why Obama's being attacked for "waffling" though. Did they just have a bunch of jokes left over from their John Kerry files. Has Obama really changed his positon on anything besides FISA and the PATRIOT Act (which you'd think the Republicans would be happy about since he essentially adopted their position)? Especially when compared to a certain Arizona Senator?

The Things That Anger You Thread.

Speaking of plastic bags... When the hell are Walmart checkers going to figure out that if you rotate the bag carousel AWAY from the customer, we can't reach the bags? It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the funny look I always get from the checker when I ask for them to push the thing to a position I can actually reach so I can get the rest of my stuff. Then they get all impatient because when they're ready for me to pay, I'm still loading my cart because I couldn't reach my crap until now. It's like they're incapable of understanding I'M the one buying the stuff, and I'M the one who actually wants to take it home with me.

I got mixed up since, really, even saying Alaska producing 20% of America's oil is a considerable stretch. Palin lied about visiting Alaska National Guard troops in Iraq... http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/13/palin.iraq/index.html There is, however, a job Palin is better suited for than VP... http://www.slate.com/id/2199931/?from=rss Alan Greenspan has publicly questioned how McCain's going to pay for his tax cuts... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080913/ap_on_el_pr/mccain Even using McCain's own figures that the tax cut is only $600 billion, his explanation of how the government will close the gap between proposed tax cuts and projected spending (even if all earmarks are eliminated) falls short.

Because "Alaska produces almost 20% of America's energy" sounds better than "Alaska produces almost 20% of America's oil"...even though the latter is (almost) true, but the former is not. http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/en...ally_wrong.html

And in case you weren't already convinced Sarah Palin is a total hypocrite: Palin defends earmark requests for Alaska http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080912/ap_on_...ign_republicans I guess part 2 of the Palen interview airs tonight, and she'll be talking about what an awesome governor she is.

Those women are just sexist against Sarah Palin. They also brought up the discredited sex-ed ad, but McCain dodged it completely. And, I have to say, it's really too bad be live in a country where someone can't support a bill that will mandate teaching kindergarteners to avoid sexual predators without it getting twisted and used against them.

People have been saying Palin isn't qualified since the morning she was picked, but if you want to compare the bottom of the GOP ticket to the top of the Dem ticket, I say keep it up. The term doesn't mean lack of qualifications, it means lack of substance. You're essentially saying someone has no ideas of their own.

For a party that prides itself on being tough and straightforward, they sure like to scapegoat the media a lot. "Waa...the press is picking on us...waaa..."
