Its ridiculous that Fox never retracted the Obama story or still continues to treat Coulter like she has any credibility, but I don't really see why Edwards would turn a debate appearance down regardless of who is broadcasting it. This was his big opportunity to show the Fox News audience, unfiltered by slick editting and out-of-context quotes, that he's not the person he's been made out to be.

Did he really, though? The union contradicted itself, because in one paragraph they say the number of firefighters searching was reduced from 300 to 25, then 2 paragraphs later they claim the corpses were just going to be scooped up and dumped in a landfill.

In a state of national lock-down and heightened security, a city of millions has hundreds of firefighters to spare cleaning up a disaster area? Just because he withdrew the firefighters doesn't mean there weren't other groups cleaning up the area. It was 2 months later. Time for someone else to take over and the firefighters to get back to protecting those left behind. In other non-news... http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0307/3054.html Reasonable to assume that Richardson hasn't done a damn thing wrong, but an interesting look at the inner working of presidential camapigns and the VP "vetting" process.

Spawn and Hellboy both got their own movies, you know.

I find myself in the rare position of defending Guiliani, but perhap only 25 firefighter were to be at Ground Zero at a time 2 months after the disaster (when it was known no more survivors would be found) because the rest were desperately needed to serve and protect the rest of city?

Hawkgirl has her own book. The other four are C-list characters. So they should only focus on the A-list characters? Rather then the C, raising them to B, and eventually A, if you get what I mean. (And I'm mainly referring to Roy as I'm just a fan of him >_>) Point is, if they never focus on the C-list characters, that's all they'll ever be...and I guess technically you could only focus on the same few characters forever, but character development is just so much fun. The problem is that these are really, really old C-list characters who've already had multiple chances to get over. Red Arrow/Arsenal/Speedy has been around since...? Not counting Hawkgirl (who is the reincarnation of Shiera Sanders, a character from 1941) I think the newest character on that cover is Vixen, who has been around for over 25 years. If they want to push new characters, how about some new characters who are actually new? Or even new characters who have assumed old identities, like they do in JSA or they did with Kyle Rayner in the 1990s? Like maybe the new Firestorm, Flash, Aquaman or Atom? What was great about the last incarnation of the JLA was that it made the team the A-list club, and a must-read comic.

Cap felt he worked for the American people, not the government. This was highlighted in the classic Mark Gruenwald-penned stryline from the late 80s where Cap turns in his uniform rather than become the government's super-soldier again. Omega Flight.

Stevenson in 56? I'm sure he was favored over his main opponent Estes Kefauver. Polls become irrelevant before this point because most states were picking who they'd support through a convention rather than a primary.
-
I always thought Mondale was the early favorite, but Hart came out of no where and won New Hampshire. I'm still surprised John Glenn didn't do better.
-
Yeah, it was basically a big surprise when Carter won then kept winning primaries.

Spider-Woman says that and Ms. Marvel says he isn't.
-
Americans good, but... FIRE BAD!
-
In the 60 year history of presidential polls, Walter Mondale comes the closest. Fun fact: Bill Clinton didn't even declare he was running until October of 1991.
-
Great cover, but the actual stars of the book are the guys in the back row, unfortunately.

Do you have a source for this? Googling the quote will bring up hundreds of articles that use it. The book I got it from cites another secondary source so I can't give you the primary source. I already tried that and got nothing but right-wing blog posts. Given how often fake quotes circulate the internet, you'll understand why I'm skeptical.

I totally blame the news media for this. Think about it. Its mathematically impossible for 5 or 6 primaries or caucuses to determine the nominee, but the media keeps playing it that way. They give the winners of the early primaries so much coverage because they're the so-called "frontrunners" that everyone else gets drowned out to the point where they can't raise money to continue their campaign. We're already seeing that now, without a single vote being cast, with the constant focus who's ahead in the polls.

You've just summarized the next 12 months. You don't have to be a great public speaker to be a good president, but the real difference between the two is that Obama sounds like he geniunely believes what he's saying and has a real understanding of the problems of the average person, whereas Mrs. Clinton sounds like she got all of her opinions and ideas out of a briefing book. If she suceeds in winning the nomination next year, it'll be a triumph of family connections over a genuine ability to inspire people.

This show's getting dangeroulsy close to X-Files land where nothing ever actually gets explained, but they just keep piling on new unanswered questions.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/04/eag...t.ap/index.html Eagleton was dropped from the ticket after McGovern famously said he backed Eagleton "1000 percent." He was replaced by Sargent Shriver (former ambassador, Peace Corps director, Kennedy-in-law and father of Maria Shriver). I remember Eagleton more for his newspaper column than anything else, as I wasn't very old when he was my senator. He stayed Eagleton was outspoken in political affairs all the way until last year, when he got involved in the stem cell campaign. In 2001, upon John Ashcroft's nomination as U.S. Attorney General, Eagleton was quoted as saying, "John Danforth would have been my first choice. John Ashcroft would have been my last choice."

Yea, he'd rather take em to see Black Snake Moan. >_> Is Mandingo or Spring Thomas in this?

DC Comics announce three animated movies
SuperJerk replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Television & Film
I've never seen Ultimate Avengers but have always wanted to.... what is so bad about them? Bad voice acting, cliched situations, horrid dialogue, and they don't nearly live up to the comic stories they're based on. -
Mrs. Clinton wasted no time trying to steal his thunder. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/02/cli...bama/index.html
