http://lettertoamerica.podbus.com/pictures...Problem%201.jpg Not usually that bad but the picture may break up with similar blocks or artifacts. If those are artifacts, I must have the television equivalent to Indiana Jones. When I watch my DirecTV stations, I also get a lot of fuzzy, random pixels around static images.

What? Well, I may have jumped the gun by assuming you have an HD capable box..but the HD boxes all have some way of setting the output resolution so that you can match it with the tv's native resolution. My HD Tivo has a setting in one of the menus for it but it can also be changed directly off the remote by pressing up on the directional pad at the top. I have it set to output to 1080i because my CRT is 1080i native, if I had a plasma/lcd it would be set to 720p (and I have no idea what would happen if I had a 1080p capable set). It can also be set to 480i and 480p although I dont understand why. No, I have a HD box. It was the part about the second conversion that threw me. Now that I think about it, watching a 480 image when its set to 1080 does distort the picture.

Women died from over consumption of water

I want to beleive this is a hoax, but only about 100 news outlets have picked up the story. -
If your definition of "successful" includes having the most under the radar solo career, as well as the least commercially and critically popular solo catalog, then yeah, he was the most successful. How about we use the definition of "successful" that includes having 7 top ten hit singles?

Hillary Rodham Clinton is on the cutting edge of American politics. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/17/ira...ress/index.html Nice of the party's frontrunner for the presidential nomination to say something about the war besides "I support the troops" and "we need to do more to win it."

This is the part where I ask what an "artifact" is, so MrRant can spend a paragraph destroying my self-esteem before finally revealing the answer.

I don't know the first thing about Borat, but all this talk of Austin Powers being over-exposed warms my heart. Damn, did I want to murder Mike Myers after that last movie...

Yeah, people who come to an incorrect conclusion about why their picture quality is inferior are obviously operating at a lower cognitive capacity. Said conclusion couldn't possibly be because they are just being ignorant of all of the nuances of how two pieces of recently invented compatible technology interact under different operating conditions. You might as well just destroy the entire human race now, so we don't pollute the gene pool with our misunderstanding of the beloved product you make a living from.

I find it hard to go back to watching standard definition after watching HD. I'm not thinking "this is only 480 instead of 1080," but I'm thinking "man, this looks out of focus." My brain recognizes the difference right away. Add to the fact that digital cable makes SD things generally look crappy on a big HDTV, and I know what you mean. Good christ that was stupid. ANALOG is generally what you will have issues with, and no matter the source for your SD, if you have artifacts it will only be magnified the bigger the set goes. I swear, it's like retards are all up in this bitch. Insulting digital cable = raping MrRant's mom.

If people want to make a big deal out of Obama's name, race, or ethnicity, they should go ahead and do it just so we can laugh when it backfires. And if some people hate Obama because of his name, race, or ethnicity, the Democrats need to wear that fact like a badge of honor. I would rather loose an election standing up to bigotry than cater to the interests of the intolerant.

I've heard he's not the best speaker, but the press will make up for this by mentioning his Iraq-veteran son about 2,354,377 times or so.

In other news... http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/16/mcc...s.ap/index.html Dear Religious Right, What the fuck are you doing to the Republican Party? I make jokes you guys are trying to turn this country into a theocracy, but please stop trying to prove me right. I don't like McCain either, but watching him be forced to kiss the asses of so-called religious leaders for support is not only stomach-churning, but will probably backfire in the general election. Somehow you guys got George W. Bush elected by calling him "compassionate" every ten seconds, but I don't think that trick is going to work twice. Your boy is running this country into the ground, and everyone knows you guys are just a bunch of hypocrites anyways. Do yourselves a favor go away for a couple of years until this Iraq mess is sorted out. The American people have bigger problems than worrying how to outlaw what people do in their bedrooms. Sighed, SuperJerk P.S. Pat Robertson is a pussy.

Go through any list of the top 10 or 15 presidents and you'll find a mixture of level of experience. The same goes for the bottom 10. Compare Thomas Jefferson (one of the most experienced) to Abraham Lincoln (one of the least experienced). Both were great presidents. What they had in common were world-class intellects and a devotion to the best interest of the American people. Of course experience matters, and POTUS is not an entry-level position, but it shouldn't be the only thing that matters.

To be fair, Dwight Eisenhower didn't need as much experience in politics because he had experience winning a war.

Wait....um, what?

By Jan. 20th, 2009, he'll have served 4 years in the U.S. Senate. Before being elected to the Senate, he spent 8 years in the Illinois state legislature. Before that, he spent years running community activist organizations and practicing civil rights law. I understand your concerns, but this isn't some guy who woke up won day and decided to run for office. He's dedicated almost his entire adult life to public service. Yes, there have been men who have been far more qualified to be president get elected, but there have also been men who have been far less qualified to be president get elected.

Overheard at a store last week in reference to the PS3 bombing: I don't think he knew what he was talking about, since I understand the concept of a loss-leader, but if the system isn't selling well, he still might be right. I'm curious to know what everyone else thinks.

Yeah, and I hope they don't so that you shut the fuck up. No one posted on this thread for 3 months, so apparently they didn't and he did.
