I consider debates to be useful tools. You get a real feel for how a guy's mind works, and how he handles pressure. Even if his answers aren't the most eloquent, the qualities you show in a debate say a lot about how you'll handle the job. We all know what debates did for JFK and Reagan (the now famous "I AM PAYING FOR THIS MICROPHONE, MR. GREEN." line). I knew Clinton had the election sewn up as soon as I saw him debate Jerry Brown and Paul Tsongas (yes, I was a political nerd even in high school). By contrast, Al Gore let himself get slapped around by Dan Quayle and George W. Bush. I knew when I saw the 1996 Kerry/Weld debate that Kerry would have a real shot at becoming president some day. Then look at the 2004 debate between Cheney and Edwards.

Hey, I'm a fan of RFK, but was this movie even about him, or just a bunch of people talking about how they felt the night he died, with very little actual connection to the person? I never said the police did the right thing. I just wanted to remind people that this man who tragically died was not entirely innocent, and there are facts you have to overlook before you can say this was entirely the police's fault. Simple automotive mechanics. The car has a steering wheel that allows the driver to point the car in a direction other than directly forward. The steering wheel can allow the car to move forward at an angle, either left or right depending on the direction that the wheel is turned. If a steering wheel is turned counter-clockwise, the car can move at an angle to the left. If a steering wheel is turned clockwise, the car can move at an angle to the right.

I already answered that. Evan Bayh is actually qualified to be president. He has both governed a large state and gotten bills passed through the Congress. John Edwards just kind of waundered into the Senate one day, made some pretty speeches, and started running for president.

People forget that the X-Men comic was never that popular until the late 1970s. Crockum was instrumental in the creation of the characters and team that made the book a global phenomena. He deserves as much credit for the X-Men's success as Claremont, Byrne, or Stan Lee do.

Now people are just rewriting the story to fit their point of view. I don't see the part where it says the guys were followed back to their car by a guy they saw had a gun,or the guy stood in front of them, blocking their escape. **looks again** Nope, still don't. In other words, someone--probably the police--are saying they did in fact identify themselves. In other words, we don't know if they did or didn't based on the story.

Everytime I read this thread's title, I get my hopes up for some reason.

He hit someone with his car, though. That's a serious offense no matter what color the person is. Even if it wasn't a cop, because the guy had no way of knowing unless the police identified themselves, he still hit someone with his car, hit another vehicle twice, and drove off. That's still attempted murder. I'm not going to get into an argument over how much force the police should have used, but the guy definitely provoked the incident.

I dont think you'll find anyone who will admit in public that they enjoy 2 1/2 men. Its not as bad as The Office but dear god, its just plain bad. I'm not going to get into an argument over how much force the police should have used, because I'm not an expert on police procedures. However, people on this thread are completely ignoring what the guy did to provoke the police, and are suggesting that the police shouldn't have fired at all or that he was singled out because he was black. That's simply not the case.

John Edwards is no Jack Kennedy. Hence the picture.

Let's review: -Group is partying at 4 am and gets into argument. -Guy in group says he has a gun. -Other guy hits a police officer with his car and drives off. -Same car hits a police van TWICE and keeps driving. While it is tragic that he lost his life, this man was not an innocent victim.

Do you realize that JFK and John Edwards are so different that you had to make up a alternate reality just to have some way to say that they're alike?

"I don't have HBO" seems like a pretty good reason. The DVD box sets are expensive.

For me it was "Oh, God! You Devil." For those of you unfamiliar with the series, George Burns played God in 3 fims where God comes to Earth and decides to only reveal himself to people no one would ever believe. In the final film, Burns plays both God and the Devil in 80s spit-screen goodness. In typical movie fashion, the Devil tempts a guy into selling his soul for fame and prizes. God must intervene. The final confrontation involves the two sitting at a poker table arguing with each other. I think audiences were supposed to go "Wow...two George Burns!"

I must be the only person in America without HBO.
