I'm not going to deny the obvious...Her reaction to the Bush-Hitler wasn't necessarily condoning it, though the strength of her opposition to calling Obama a fascist makes it clear she liked one more than the other. Every once in a while, someone on CNN slips their bias in, meanwhile MSNBC and Fox actually seem to encourage their people to be biased.

I believe the question the man was asked was "Why are you here today?" not "Can you compare and contrast Barack Obama to Abraham Lincoln?" The guy was a blabbering idiot who was trying to make a point about taxes being to high. She rightly pointed out that his taxes have not gone up, and he was in fact getting a tax cut. A good reporter exposes peoples lies, and that's what she was doing: exposing that this protest is based on a lie.

I figured you were just trying to be fair by explaining their side, and I don't expect you to defend something as irrational as Republican talking points.

President Obama is called the most polarizing president because of the wide difference in percentage between Democrats who approve (88%) and Republicans who approve (27%). If the definition of polarizing is "to divide into sharply opposing factions, political groups," then Obama is not polarizing. Opinion is being split according to divisions which already existed before he took office, not because his policies are pushing people into 2 separate aligning groups. Imagine if McDonald's ran an ad campaign stating "only 27% percent of Burger King's customers prefer McDonald's to Burger King." It'd be a meaningless statement and incorrect to say this data somehow represented a flaw in Burger King's product.

So...if the Rapture already happened, does that mean the 7 year TSM Tribulation has started...and if so, who does that make the Anti-Christ?

Hasn't that been a common practice for years? As far as the Glen Beck quote debated above goes....the idea that government works for the people isn't a Glen Beck invention, and it is a good and just notion. However, I think the problem arises when people think the government works ONLY for them. In Beck's case, he seems to think its the government's only jobs are to keep taxes on the rich low, and tell people what they can't do in their bedrooms.

    Changes made by Barack Obama

How do you claim with a straight face that someone is polarizing when they only have a 30% disapproval rating? By adding meaningless stipulations to the claim, of course. The new talking point is that the president is polarizing America, which is a bold statement after George Bush and Bill Clinton, based on the logic that after THIS POINT in the first terms of other presidents, no one had as high disapproval numbers as President Obama. So, he is the most polarizing, compared to the presidents of the selectively picked years of 1993 and 2001, when in fact none of the three years, 2009, 2001, or 1993, indicate actual polarization. This would be like saying someone is the worst basketball player in the NBA, but saying so after 2 months of their first season compared to a half dozen other past rookie players' stats at the same point in their careers. The fact that the president's disapproval rating is 30% makes the argument that he is polarizing false, and the stipulations placed on the claim to make it sound true are meaningless.

Elitism has its place, say for example when you are hiring people for important jobs and you want to make sure they are competent. Message boards thrive on diversity of opinion, though, and I think you risk losing that when you keep people out over personality conflicts. I think what really bugs me is that you can't even read the forum without joining. It really doesn't make any sense to have a private board if you want your membership to grow.

Again, I know a few of them asked, but it's not like they have power over the all other guys. If you like, I'll vouch for you, too. But get over the bitterness; you'll eventually get in, but the misunderstandings are still fresh in mind. Give it time. Fuck them, fuck their board, and fuck their stupid elitism. Once I found out they were picking and choosing members, I didn't even bother to try to sign up. If they're going to act like a bunch of high school girls, I don't want to be apart of that. Groveling for the approval of others, especially people you've never really met, should be beneath you. Your opinions may be a little too far left for me, but you seem like a really smart guy with a lot of intelligent things to say. You don't need them.

    Worst President Ever?

Czech isn't here to whine about posting entire articles, so here's an entire article. It is framed around the Obama agenda, but is really about analyzing criticisms of Presidents Johnson and Reagan. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/04/07/Obama.LBJ/index.html

She wasn't banned when I became friends with her in 2006. And wasn't it Czech's idea to let her post in The Gulag in 2008? It was a good idea, but the execution was poor. No one could reply to her. She hacked accounts that had simple passwords so that she could post after she was banned. I don't support her doing that. But, other than that, people just didn't like her. The Maffs faked the whole 'Leena stole the admin password' debacle. No one but me, it seems, is bothered by the fact that they intentionally caused further damage to her reputation. Yeah, that version of the Leena timeline had multiple inconsistencies in it. One of the first lessons I learned here was any attempts at serious discussion will be met with immediate ridicule and scorn by at least 50% of the board. I still have no idea who the Maff Clique included. Who were they exactly?

    Joss Whedon's Dollhouse

After being horribly dissappointed by the pilot, I was gonna wait to watch it because Whedon was saying in the press that the show wouldn't be any good for 6 weeks, and by the time the 6th week rolled around I'd lost any interest in checking it out. Is the reason the first 5 supposedly stunk (according to you guys and every one else who's seen it) because of the network?
