Davey Boy Smith (The night after In Your House: Final Four a tournament began to crown the 1st ever WWF Television Champion. The participants in the tournament were Davey Boy Smith, Marc Mero, Rocky Maivia, Owen Hart, Bob Holly, Ahmed Johnson, Ron Simmons and Brian Pillman.) Smith pinned Owen (19:58) to become the first ever WWF Television Champion. **** ½ 2) The Godwinns v. The New Blackjacks These two teams square off on Raw is War two weeks before WrestleMania. In that match, both teams were disqualified. This is a rematch.) Barry Windham pinned Henry Godwinn (6:23) to give his team the victory. ¾ * 3) Rocky Maivia v. "Wildman" Marc Mero (These two men were paired up in the tournament to crown the WWF Television Champion. In their encounter, Rocky Maivia was able to come out on top when he pinned Marc Mero with a cross-body block from the top rope. The next weekend on WWF Superstars, The Wildman turned heel when he attacked Maivia. The following week, this match was announced.) Mero pinned Maivia (8:17) with a rollup from behind and a handful of tights. ** 4) Stone Cold Steve Austin v. “The Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman (Stone Cold and The Loose Cannon had teamed up on several occasions since both had entered the WWF. They even scored a victory over the team of Bret Hart & Marc Mero at the December In Your House PPV. But things changed after Austin turned babyface at the last In Your House. After he made his turn, Pillman began running down Austin during his interviews, and even attacked him during a match on Raw is War. Every time Austin tried to get revenge on Pillman for his betrayal, the Loose Cannon ran for the hills. This is the Rattlesnakes chance to gain a little bit of revenge.) Austin pinned Pillman (12:11) after a “Stone Cold” Stunner.” ** ¾ 5) WWF Intercontinental Championship: Hunter Hearst Helmsley v. Goldust (Goldust turned babyface back in early-December 1996 when Helmsley began to make advances towards Marlena, the manager of Goldust. It was then revealed that she was not only his manager, but also his wife. They met at the following PPV, In Your House: Brawl for All. In the match, Goldust was able to come out on top. Just 3 days prior to In Your House: Final Four, Helmsley regained the WWF Intercontinental title from Marc Mero. Two weeks after regaining the championship, Helmsley was attacked by Goldust during a title defense. Shortly after that happened, it was announced that they would square off one more time, but this the WWF Intercontinental Championship would be on the line.) Goldust pinned Helmsley (12:23) to win the title. 6) Psycho Sid v. Mankind (Mankind was instrumental in eliminating Psycho Sid from the Final Four match at the last In Your House. One week later, Mankind was able to score a victory over Sid, with a little assistance from Big Van Vader, in a match on Raw is War.) Sid pinned Mankind (9:42) by disqualification after Paul Bearer interfered. * ¾ 7) Doug Furnas & Phil LaFon v. The Headbangers Furnas pinned Thrasher (7:25) to give his team they victory. ** 8) “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels v. Bret “The Hitman” Hart (This feud at last years WrestleMania. At that time, Bret was the WWF Champion. They collided in a 60-minute Iron-man match for the championship. The match went into overtime, and the Heartbreak Kid came out on top. After that match, the Hitman decided that he needed to take some time off. He returned, for 1 night, at SummerSlam to referee the WWF title match between Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin. Bret inadvertently helped HBK retain the title. The hitman a fulltime return to WWF the night after In Your House: Mind Games. When he made his return he made it perfectly clear that he didn’t like Michaels and had no respect for him. Over the course of the next several months, both men were involved in other battles, but they always seemed to take insult each other every chance they got. Flash forward to In Your House: Final Four. Hart had just won a submission match over Steve Austin when Austin passed out while in the sharpshooter. During the course of the match Bret & Austin seemed to switch roles. When the match was over Bret had now turned heel, and Austin was the babyface. That same evening, Michaels was involved in a Final Four match to determine who would received a WWF title shot at WrestleMania. Michaels had just eliminated Psycho Sid from the match when he was attacked by Bret Hart. Bret beat on Michaels until several referees intervened, but it was already to late for the Heartbreak Kid. Mankind quickly eliminated Michaels. The next night on Raw is War, WWF President Gorilla Monsoon made the announcement that Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels would square off in a match at WrestleMania XIII.) Hart defeated Michaels (26:48) after Michaels submitted to the “Sharpshooter.” **** ½ After the match, the Hitman attacked the Heartbreak Kid and “broke” his leg. 9) Chicago Street Fight: Ahmed Johnson & The Road Warriors v. The Nation of Domination (Ahmed Johnson and Ron Simmons have been feuding since last years SummerSlam. At that event, Ahmed was challenging for the WWF Intercontinental title when Simmons made his debut and attacked him. The following month, at In Your House: Mind Games, Ron Simmons injured Ahmed during their match and put him on the shelf for several months. Ahmed made his return at the Royal Rumble in January. That match went to a no contest. Just after the last In Your House, a match was made between Ahmed & Simmons for WrestleMania. However, Ahmed realized that he would never get a fair one-on-one match up with Simmons as long as he had his Nation of Domination at his side. So he enlisted some help from The Road Warriors and the match was then changed into a 6-man Chicago Street Fight.) Ahmed scored the victory for his team when he pinned Crush (15:54). *** 10) WWF Championship: Big Van Vader v. The Undertaker (Vader has been in the WWF for a little over a year at this point, and has yet to be defeated. He has squared off against Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, even Psycho Sid, and he has always come out the victor. The Undertaker won a Final Four match at last months In Your House PPV to earn a WWF title shot here. Two weeks prior to this event, in a tag team match also involving Psycho Sid and Mankind, Vader was able to score a pinfall victory over The Phenom.) Undertaker pinned Vader (19:07) after a chokeslam from the top rope to win the title. ***

I'd like to announce that I'm back. I had some computer problem over the holidays that prevented me for getting online. JMA and I have discussed it and for the time being we're only doing to be doing the PPV results like we were doing before. The working plan at the moment is to continue doing this until we reach WrestleMania X-Seven. Once we get to that point, then we will start adding more detailed results to the TV shows, as well. I hope everyone enjoys our work, and we look to hearing everyone’s opinions on what we're doing.

Razor and Diesel met in the quarter finals of the King of the Ring, and Ramon scored a victory after Diesel was disqualified for outside interference from Shawn Michaels. Ramon was defending his title against Jeff Jarrett on an episode of WWF Superstars in late-July when he was attacked by Diesel & Michaels. The following week, it was announced that Razor would be defending his WWF Intercontinental title against Diesel at SummerSlam.) Jeff Jarrett defeated The 1-2-3 Kid (13:33) by submission to the figure-four leglock. *** ¼ (The 1-2-3 Kid scored an upset victory over Jarrett in a King of the Ring tournament match back in June. Jarrett did an interview on WWF Superstars several weeks later and demanded a rematch. In that match, both men were counted out. Another rematch was set 2 weeks later. In that match, Jarrett scored the pinfall victory with his feet on the ropes for leverage. This is the rubber match.) Crush pinned Lex Luger (14:52) after knocking Luger out with a steel chair and putting him in the “Torture Rack.” The referee stopped the match when Luger passed out. ** (Crush and Luger faced off in a match on Monday Night Raw in mid-July. Luger won that match by disqualification after Crush used a steel chair. Crush continued beating on Luger with the chair after the referee stopped the match and “injured” his ribs in the process. Luger went to WWF President Jack Tunney and demanded a match against Crush at SummerSlam. Tunney agreed, but said that Luger would have to get a doctors release first. Lex was unable to get a release from his doctor, but instead signed a waiver stating that the WWF would not be liable for any injuries occurred during the match.) Adam Bomb pinned Bam Bam Bigelow (6:11) after delivering a chokeslam to Bigelow from the top rope. ¾ * WWF Champion Bret Hart pinned Owen Hart (21:39) by reversing an inside cradle. **** ¼ After the match, Jim Neidhart aided Owen in attacking Bret until Davey Boy Smith came to the ring to make the save. (Tension began building between the two brothers in late-93 when Owen got involved in Bret’s title defense against Lex Luger at a TV taping and Owen “accidentally” cost his brother the WWF title. They seemed to make up over the holiday season. Shortly after the Hitman won the Royal Rumble in January, the brothers teamed up to challenge The Quebecers for the WWF tag team championship. It seemed as if the Hart’s were about to win the gold as the Hitman had Pierre locked in the sharpshooter, but Bret’s knee gave out and the referee stopped the match. Owen blamed Bret for the loss and attacked him with a steel chair, turning heel in the process. The week before WrestleMania X, on the March to WrestleMania TV special, Owen scored an upset victory over the Hitman by blocking a victory roll and pinning the former WWF Champion. Bret went on to regain the WWF title one week later. At the King of the Ring in June, Owen won the 16-man tournament to become the 1994 King of the Ring and earned a WWF title shot at SummerSlam in the process. Owen, and brother-in-law Jim Neidhart, interfered in several of Bret’s matches leading up to SummerSlam.)

(Adam Bomb pinned Dr. Tom Pritchard after Bomb delivered an “H-Bomb” in a KOTR Qualifying match.) The Quebecers defeated WWF tag team Champions The Steiner Brothers (10:42) after manager Johnny Polo interfered and Pierre pinned Scott. ** ¾ (The Quebecers won the WWF tag team titles from The Steiners last year on Monday Night Raw. The two teams battled at the Royal Rumble, but the Steiners were unable to win the gold. In late-May, WWF President Jack Tunney set up a 1-900 number where the fans could call in a vote for the team that they wanted to see challenge for the tag team titles. The fans voted for Rick & Scott, and they went on to regain the gold for a 3rd time.) Owen Hart pinned The 1-2-3 Kid (10:52) by blocking a sunset flip in a “King of the Ring Semi-Finals” match. *** ¼ WWF Intercontinental Champion Razor Ramon defeated Diesel (7:35) by disqualification after Shawn Michaels interfered in a “King of the Ring Semi-Finals” match. * ¾ Lex Luger defeated Yokozuna (10:14). Yokozuna was attempting to deliver a “Bonzai Drop” to fallen Luger when he slipped off the middle rope and hit his head. As Yoko rose to his feet, Luger came running across the ring and delivered a clothesline, but the 500-pound monster wouldn’t go down. He delivered two more with the same result. Finally, he climbed to the top turnbuckle and flew at him with a clothesline and that knocked the former sumo wrestler down. He rose back to his feet and then Luger delivered a bodyslam and scored the pinfall. ** (Just before WrestleMania X, Luger and Yokozuna had a misunderstanding in the middle of 6-man tag team match that caused them to lose. Just after they lost their match, Luger and Yokozuna began brawling and had to be separated by several WWF officials. At WrestleMania X, Lex lost the WWF title to Bret Hart. Several weeks later, Yokozuna was squaring off against Tatanka on Monday Night Raw. Yokozuna had just won the match and was attempting to seriously injure the Native American when Luger came running to ringside to make the save and thus turning babyface in the process. Several weeks later, they began wrestling each other at house shows across the country.) Owen Hart pinned WWF Intercontinental Champion Razor Ramon (9:38) after Jim Neidhart interfered to win the King of the Ring tournament. ** ¼ WWF Champion Bret Hart defeated Crush (14:17) by submission to the “Sharpshooter.” *** ¼ (During an edition of “The King’s Court” on Monday Night Raw in mid-May, Crush came out to confront the WWF Champion Bret Hart. Crush stated that he was getting no where being cheered by the fans. He said that he may have been the WWF Intercontinental Champion, but he wanted more then just that. He stated that he deserved to be WWF Champion, but he was always overlooked. That’s why he took his frustrations out on Randy Savage. And now that he’s done with the Macho Man he wants what he feels he should have…the WWF Championship. Just as the Hitman was about to respond, Crush attacked him. Crush held the champion over the ringside railing and then dropped him throat first, injuring the champion in the process. Two weeks later, Bret returned and attacked Crush. The WWF Champion then demanded a match against Crush. The following weekend, WWF President Jack Tunney announced that Bret would defend the WWF title against Crush at the King of the Ring PPV.)
